Feb 9, 2012I'm new to Flash and have the following problem: I've picked up a Flash project tat has an embedded .mov that I need to edit. I then need to save an .swf of my Flash project. I've edited to file in Premiere, but I can't import the new .mov file to Flash, only .flv. Saving as an .flv isn't a problem, but even when I import the .flv I still can't save to .swf because I get the following error:

Scene=Scene 1, layer=Layer 1, frame=1:VP6 Codec requires Flash Player 8 or higher
I need to export my .swf with the embedded video file for Flash Player 6 (client agency requirement). How do I solve this?

Mar 5, 2010I'm working on a flash header for a website with the page links contained in an external .txt file, and I'm experiencing a strange problem.The site is both in English and Italian: I worked first on the english version, I modified the AS code for the new .txt file and then I saved the project with another name and translated all the text into Italian.I also changed the name of the external .txt file as well as all the page links contained therein.Problem is when I click a page link in the Italian version of the site, the links are the same of the English version; seems like the .swf file "remembers" the old links just as I never changed the file name.This is the "_urls_IT.txt" file:

I have been using a great .PHP code to stop this but now I am working on a server server that only uses .aspx files. Does anybody know of a way that I can stop files from being stored in the "temporary internet files" folder.

May 12, 2003Is there anyway to make flash look at the temp internet files.I have a program that is photo heavy, actually a slide show and it pulls jpegs at 50k per photo.However it also pulls a lot of bandwith, no matter how many times you flip thru the photos, it gets a fresh copy from the server. It would be great to tell flash to look at temp inet before going to the web as the explorer does.

Aug 24, 2010I've been trying to create a screensaver that dynamically loads images and text from a server, but it seems like I am not able to load anything outside of my own computer at all.t seems like the problem is coming from the Security Sandbox, the sandbox type for the screensaver stays "Local_with_file" meaning it can access local files but cannot access files from the network. What can I do to make the Sandbox "Local_with_network" as I do not need to load anything locally, but images and text from a server.

Is there any real difference between the Flash Player in Internet Explorer and FireFox?
Aren't they the same, and all the browser is doing is relaying those commands to the library/executable already on the computer? The reason I'm guessing this is because when you install Flash Player, it works for all installed browsers, and you don't have to install it to specific browsers, right? Or?

what im trying to archieve is:
1. get the list of urls from the XML file
2. trigger the loading of these files as soon as the xml file is loaded
3. loop among these files (5 in total), in a given period of time,
4. Each time they are loaded ,the loading bar should show the progress

ActionScript 2.0 :: Flash Video Player With You-Tube-like Links @ End?
Feb 8, 2007I hope this is the right forum to post in. I'm trying to make a flash video player that has the little section at the end of the video that grabs a link to a few more videos and lists them, allowing you to click on them and going to a new page. I am starting with this video player here. [URL]..He has included a pretty thorough readme file, it has a lot of info but I haven't worked with flash in a long time and feel pretty nubbish. I suspect something like this wouldn't be too hard but I'm unsure. I've attatched the readme file on this post in case you wanna take a look. I do have the videos working perfectly, it's just a matter of modifying it now to make the end.
I did search both the forums, tutorials, and web for something along these lines but to no avail. Basically I need to know how to make that section at the end with the links to other videos, even pointing me in the right direction would be extremely helpful so I could research the things I need to do.

I have been using a great .PHP code to stop this but now I am working on a server server that only uses .aspx files. Does anybody know of a way that I can stop files from being stored in the "temporary internet files" folder. I have encrypted the files but this is not good enough.

Mar 12, 2012I have been given the task of updating my company's website, which is written in ASP and has a menu in Flash. I am not experienced in neither technology so maybe you can help me a little bit.We have a menu in flash and just received a new one from an artist. They are pretty similar but the new one brings some new buttons. So far what I did was simply change the .fla and .swf files from my web project to the new ones. The new menu is working, but the buttons and links are messed up. For example, our website main page is called Default.aspx. In the old menu, when you clicked in 'Home' it would take you to Default.aspx. In the new one though, it tries to take you to 'index.aspx', which doesn't exist. This makes me think that the mapping of the links in the menu is something that is part of the Flash code. Am I right about this?
Now, if I am right and I need to modify the flash files to create the correct links, how the heck do I do that? Notepad++ doesn't read the .fla well. What is the best free tool that will allow me to modify a file and compile it into a .swf? I know Adobe Flash would work, but we don't want to pay anything.

Nov 11, 2011I'm creating a simple online, Flash-based music player; the user clicks on a song in a DataGrid and then it plays, simple. I will display the song information with the ID3 method in the 'sound' class, but I don't want to hard-code all the songs into the ActionScript, because I might change them. I have created a "tracks" folder in the site directory; how can I extract the names of the files within that folder without knowing how many files there are, and inherently, without knowing the URLs?

Aug 4, 2004i am having with xml being displayed in flash mx.the tutorial on this site works fine, but when i write my own xml file and modify the as, i encounter the problems. ideally, i wolud like to be able to load text files and urls of images to be loaded into flash, flash recognises the xml file fine and actually loads it, however, when i try to use the nodeValue action, i am always given the value "null." this is because flash thinks the node is an element rather than a text node (type 1 rather than 3, when you use nodeType.) i don't know why it does this when it is obviously a text node.
