I'm trying to make a flash video player that has the little section at the end of the video that grabs a link to a few more videos and lists them, allowing you to click on them and going to a new page. I am starting with this video player here. [URL]..He has included a pretty thorough readme file, it has a lot of info but I haven't worked with flash in a long time and feel pretty nubbish. I suspect something like this wouldn't be too hard but I'm unsure. I've attatched the readme file on this post in case you wanna take a look. I do have the videos working perfectly, it's just a matter of modifying it now to make the end.
I did search both the forums, tutorials, and web for something along these lines but to no avail. Basically I need to know how to make that section at the end with the links to other videos, even pointing me in the right direction would be extremely helpful so I could research the things I need to do.

Works fine in Firefox, Safari, Opera... but... in IE... if you type the URL in the browser, it works fine... however if you go to the page from a link, the player renders only the very bottom right of the video skin, as if the align property were seriously out of whack.The video player is 360 x 480 and when broken shows up all white, with the player controls in the top 60 x 10 pixels or so.
View 1 RepliesI've gone through an mp3 tutorial series and modified the final result for what i'm looking for. one thing i would like though is to be able to add another attribute in for a clickable button that links to another page that would have lyrics. so my xml would look like this i believe or something close <song name ="Test Track 4" band ="Band4" file="test4.mp3" lyrics="testlyrics.html" /> basically so it adds another button in after the track listing so you can click and view the lyrics that would be on a separate page. The page behaves exactly how I would expect in Firefox (all versions) and Chrome. However, in IE8 (and I have the latest flash plug-in), I see a "1 item remaining" message in the status bar and the overlay contains no flash player. Right-clicking on the grey space shows a "movie not loaded" message.
Is it possible yet to load a PDF into a flash player 10 dynamically, much like you can with a jpg?

I've figured out how to load an alternative page using "onload" as part of the body tag if no flash player is found, but just need to have something to load an alternative image object instead.
Can or how do I load hyperlinks from XML in Flash? So that way I can save the cool animations that are embedded in Flash. I do not want to hard-code those cool animation in AS, but just add the links on each images from XML? I am weak in the AS2 and learning.
Something like when I need to run some type of function that will attach the variable containing the URL to each movie clip generally this is done using a for loop so if each targeted movie clip is named "mc_1", "mc_2", "mc_3", etc.
I'm using an AS2 carousel loaded as an swf into an AS3 page - no problem there. The AS2 files loads PNG icons that have XML links set to load external URLs. I'd like to somehow alter the XML file so that instead of the links loading external URLs, when clicked they load swf files back into the AS2 file. Hope this is clear - below I've included the AS2 code for the carousel and the XML code. These files are from [URL] - an excellent resource site, but a little difficult to get support from!

I'm struggling with a flash file that I want to play two different sound files when the appropriate buttons are pressed.I've gotten it to the point where it will load without any errors popping up, but instead of playing the second sound when I press the button for that sound, it plays the first sound again. Here's the code:

I wrote a program in C# that, when a user press a button, opens a new form containing an embedded flash object. The flash application needs the user to be logged in, so i added to the source something like
swf.SetVariable("__ses", sid);
This works fine for 2 user testing the application, while the third one can succesfully open one table, while all the others appear "black", just like if the loader can't get past the loading step.

I need to redirect website visitors to an HTML version of my website (or show HTML instead of Flash) when they do not have flash player installed. I'm developing a simple Flash application which has only one SWF file. I want the SWF movie to start playing asap so I don't build a preloader for it. What happen if my actionscript code refers to resources which haven't been loaded yet? For example, the code cause the playhead to jump from frame 1 to frame 20 when the movie has just been loaded up to frame 10. In that case, flash player will? Block the script execution, stop playing, continue loading from frame 11 to 20 (without executing script), jump to frame 20 and invoke script at that frame when it's loaded?
Block the script execution, stop playing, ignore loading frame 11 to 19, load frame 20, jump to frame 20 and invoke script at that frame? Ignore jumping to frame 20, continue executing next statements after the go to frame 20 statement? Or anything else? If flash player doesn't ignore jumping to frame 20, any event is triggered when frame 20 is loaded completely? Note: Answers for the first question should focus on my example, cover all circumstances (such as attach movie from library...)
