View 3 RepliesOkay I'm trying to make a navbar which is dynamically created when the flash movie starts, and the number of buttons and their links are defined by XML.So far, I've got the navbar making itself correctly and taking button names and number from the XML page.What I cant seem to figure out is how to have actionscript 3.0 take the link address for a button from the XML and use it to make the appropriate button navigate there when clicked.My XML is layed out like this;
buttons spacing="2"
button label="MOTION" path="www.google.com"
path="www.google.com"[code].......
Using this returns this error message; ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable navigateToURL is not defined.at app.gui::MenuButtonMain/golink()
I'm creating a simple AS3 based navigation bar that has a child that comes up when you rollover the Portfolio button. Problem is rolling out. See if you mouse out of the button you lose the child. Now you should but only when you're out of the area of both the button and the child. Not just the button. Like most navbars you see on websites. How can I achieve this using AS3?
View 9 RepliesI'm wondering if a hidden navbar can be done at the left side of my flash whereby i can trigger it to open by sliding out with all the submenus and close it. I know it can but done in javascript but can it be done in actionscript?
View 14 RepliesIf i would place flash in a usual way, i could use wmode transparent.
but I place flash on page with iframe (because it loads external files, with relative URLs, from another server)
Also on a page I have JS popup window. But when opened, it's under flash in iframe.
I am building a website that has a flash menu with content that loads into an iframe.I have tried:
on (release) {
getURL("company.html", "cont");
}
cont being the name of the iframe.It just opens the link up in a new window. I've searched the internet and cannot find an answer.
I have this code on my button in a flash header to load a page into an iframe:
Code:
on(release){
getURL("home.html", "mainframe")
}
And I have this code in my html document defining the iframe: Code:
<iframe id="mainframe" src="home.html" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" vspace="0" hspace="0" style="overflow:visible; width:100%; display:none"></iframe>
The problem is, this works fine in google Chrome, but not in mozilla firefox or IE. So that eliminates the idea of it being a coding error on my part. Is there another way to do this that all three browsers will support?
Basically, I have a DIV, which I've set to z-index: 100. I have an iframe which I set to z-index: 0. My 100 div is ontop of the frame on a normal webpage, but I have to load a flash page in the frame. Unfortunately the flash in the frame shows overtop of my 100 DIV. I can't set the z-index of the flash object because I don't control that webpage!
View 1 RepliesWhat I am trying to do is to link my Flash buttons using as3 to make an iframe change the html page its showing every time I click on a different button. The web page is as follow: An html page containing a Flash menu and one iframe
I was using this code with no result:
Code inside Flash SWF File
var bt1:URLRequest = new URLRequest("[URL]");
function Fbt1(e:MouseEvent) : void{navigateToURL(bt1,"body");}
bt1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, Fbt1);
Code Inside HTML Page
<iframe src="[URL]" name="body" align="center" width="1010" height="500" margenwidth="1010" margenheigth="260" frameborder="0">Browser dont suport iframes</iframe></TD>
what is the code needed to create a simple .swf file that once double-clicked on opens and all it has inside it's window is an iframed website (scrolling and resizing are optional), basically a simple flash mini-browser if you will, with no navigation features of any kind just the ability to click inside and maybe refresh the page...
View 2 RepliesI'm using swfobject to load a flash object on my site and it's loading very slowly on pages with a lot of data...as if swfobject waits until the page loads before loading the swf. Here's an example page with swfobject: [URL] If I change out the swfobject code with an iframe (with the swf as the src) or just use object embed, the flash object loads much, much faster...before the rest of the page loads.
I know there are a ton of page load time improvements I could make to that page (I'm working on that as well), but I'm wondering if there are some specific changes I could make to the way I'm using swfobject to get the same loading speed as an iframe or object embed?
want to load a html page in a iframe when i click a flash button.
My code for the iframe:
[Code]....
Shouldn't that be alright? I've tried with _IFRAME too, but didn't work out. Instead of opening in the iframe, it opens in a new window. My flash button is on the main page, not in a iframe and the iframe is on the mainpage too.
I have searched the forums and know that you can use
[AS]
on(release){
getURL("somefile.htm", "someframe");
}
[/AS]
But I have and iframe and I want to load a new .htm file into it my HTML is here
{iframe src="main.htm" height="87%" width="900" align="middle" frameborder="0" scrolling="auto" name="mainFrame"} {/iframe}
I used {} 'cos I dont know if the froum uses HTML any way I tried to do

We are developing our app in flash/flex builder for the front end hitting .NET backend webservices. There is one section of the old app that will not be initially converted, so we need have it appear in an iFrame.
So far all that works fine.We shrink the size of the SWF in the host page to just be the menu/nav area. And underneat that I have an iframe control that loads in this page from the old site.Now the problem. in the SWF is a drop down list to enable picking a client. Since the SWF has been shrunk to about 100px high, the drop-down will only occupy within that 100px area which it's opened. This is NOT good as you can imagine. How can I make the drop-down list descend over-top of the IFRAME control and thus extend outside the SWF dimensions? Is this possible?
I tried to make the internal stage transparent and leave the SWF a little larger, about 400 px high, but the IFRAME still appears behind the SWF.
create a wordpress template with a flash navbar?
View 1 RepliesI'm currently learning how to make facebook apps, and I've hit a problem. Usually when I make flash applications, I can use the index.html and run the swf from a webserver. However, I tried to make a facebook iFrame app using the same setup, all I get is the Alternative Content Text [URL]
View 2 RepliesI have a mx:html component in a AIR Desktop Application that load an external webpage into it...this webpage has an iframe in it and the iframe load (obviously) another page...I can't figure out how to get the code of the iframe...If I try to get the webpage content I only retrive the start page like:
File webpage.html
<html>
....
<iframe src="http://host/framepage.html">content default</iframe>
....
[code]...
It's like as the second page is not loaded, but it's actually be loaded and rendered in the browser window (i tried also using a button so I can delay the search for the iframe content.
I'm having a problem with flash/javascript/iframes. I have a flash banner that is positioned at a fixed position on the bottom of the screen. When I press a button on the banner, the page (which is an iframe) should change.
I got it to work using javascript. But it only works on the Internet. On my local computer it doesn't work. No error, nothing. it is a task for school (for my exams) so it should work only locally.
Check out: [URL] and click on "Vanille", the page should change.

View 2 RepliesI am trying to load xml links in flash by using CDATA but what I get as a result when I publish the movie is the code itself(<a href=[URL]) instead of the link. I am pretty sure that I have done something wrong with the actionscript, nodeValue part. Here is the xml I am using:

I have tried to do those thing for couple of days( and nights), and every time some part of the code that i write in there does not work.I have tried to do Drop Down in animation (motion tween), i have also tried to do links, but i just dont get them work.

I'm having a little trouble with my flash banner. When I click on my button, it opens the link I specified in a new window or new tab, like target _blank in HTML. I want it to open in the same window, so you're still navigating through the site. Here's my button's code: link_btn5.addEventListener(MouseEvent.... goToURL5); function goToURL5(e:MouseEvent):void{ navigateToURL(new URLRequest ("/forums/index.php "));}
View 4 RepliesI am new to Flash but am slowly teaching myself via [URL] etc I have an image that I have added to a website via a content management system and want to make certain areas of that image into links to other sites. I found this page that does the kind of thing I want to do, but it appears from looking at the source code that the person who has done this has cut the image up into several sections in order to fit it into a table: [URL] Is there a better way to achieve the same kind of effect using Flash by making ares of an image into links and keeping the image as a whole?
