Everything is embedded in an HTML site. The HTML loads a preloader that then loads the actual flash movie. Inside this movie I created a few buttons, inside a scroll bar movie clip. I want the buttons to load a whole new movie inside the same html. The code I'm using in the button is simply:

The problem is that it works beautifully in the Flash movie tester but doesn't do anything when tested inside the browser, embedded in the HTML. I think the problem is that the HTML embeds as an object the first movie, the preloader for the menu movie, not the menu movie itself.

and I have this swf file with cms that I'd like for this menu to load. Currently the swf file load external text using this code:

but when the xml menu loads this swf file its structure loads but not its data.I tried using :

I have a cs3 project that works fine that saves an image out and sends back to a html page.We updated the project to cs5 and now it does not redirect back to the right URL. This works fine when I test the movie from Flash (on my local machine) and if I type the query string directly into my browser, I get the correctly formatted information. The problem arises when I post the swf to my server and test. From my server, I get nothing The swf files and the data are on different servers. Is this the problem? What is a good quick solution.

I had an idea of taking two pictures of a hand with a nutcracker in it, the first with the nut whole and the second with the nut cracked and then make it a button.It should also have a counter on the side so users can se how many "nuts the cracked" and a submission form with email, name, city and adress. When the user have cracked enought nuts they should be able to fill in the form and press send button so a certain email addy gets the info.

I would like to know if there is a way to make a flash movie that sends information straight to my email with the push of a button. Is it possible? Can it be done without knowledge of the person? I want to have a poll, and calculate the votes by hand, or eye, I suppose. I just don't want to have to set up a server of any kind.
View 1 RepliesI have an animated logo swf file that loads and runs once on the home page every time the page loads. The logo has been updated to appear in three different colour schemes. I want one scheme to load and when the page is refreshed or revisited, one of the other colour schemes to load in its place. They can appear in any random order, just a different one to the one that played before reloading.Can someone point me to an answer or tell me how to do it? I have found a way in JavaScript but this only works on plain images, not swf files.

I am trying to create an interface on flash that sends information over a port into Maya and controls certain things in Maya. I have been able to connect flash and maya to the same port but there is nothing that is telling Maya to listen to flash.
I have a slider ... This slider controls a value 1 to 5 ... I have written the script in flash to make that slider control the radius of a sphere in Maya (using mel scripting) ... so imagine I have two screens one with my flash interface with the slider and the other with maya and my sphere ... I am trying to make it so when I adjust the slider in flash .. the radius of the sphere in maya changes .. I am just missing that middle piece where one listens to the other ...

View 2 RepliesI'm attaching an MC to the timeline and within that attached MC is a LoadVars.sendAndLoad command. This works flawlessly when I have a few variables but becomes horribly bogged down when I have to send (and receive) lots of data. It actually freezes my swf until all the data is loaded, then switches windows <minimizes itself in Win XP> after it's all done loading.So I figure I need a way for the original attach movie to finish loading, before I send the PHP commands...
