ActionScript 2.0 :: Thumbnails Acting As Buttons Even Empty Thumb Which Hasn't Image Path In XML?
Apr 18, 2007
i'm using a XML file fromwhich i load thumbnails and images into Photo Gallery.[code]The problem is all thumbnails acting as buttons even the empty thumb which hasn't image_path in XML?!
I am trying to load a group of thuimbnails using Moviecliploader within a class function. Only the last image is loaded onto the stage. can anyone point me in the right direction, I have been wrestling with this for a couple of days.
I'm wondering if there is a way to tweak the tutorial for the thumbnails slider (link below) to allow for thumbnails of various widths: [URL] Currently the script creates the spacing between the thumbs by taking the width of the first thumbnail loaded and adding a value of 5 to it. However, in my instance the first thumb is the widest, so this creates odd spacing (This is for a product selector that runs from largest thumb to smallest).
Im trying to create via xml and a for() loop a thumbnails wiewer and each thumbnail have a simple onrelease function.....Im getting headake with my scriptMaybe someone can help me with this one ?here is my code:
I have 4 mc's that are acting as btns inside an mc on the main timeline
code is below newolivefour_mc.buttonMode=truenewolivefour_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER,buttonOverfour);newolivefour_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT,buttonOutfour);function
I'm creating a moodboard application where the user can dynamically load an image onto the stage by pressing a thumb of the image in a menu item. I have most of that working but what I would like to know is that, if there is a way the user can interactively scale/transform the image when it is on the stage in the swf file?
I'm attaching as many instances of a MC as my xml child nodes length.So basically never know how many of them would be on the stage.Each MC receive actions to perform, nothing fancy and it basically works.But what I want to do is to know when the user has clicked once on any mc so this latter gets 'not enabled' until another MC instance gets clicked. (so my previous MC instance gets enabled, it acts like radio buttons )The point is I know how to do it when the total of instances is defined.I also know the basics of a loop , but I cannot figure how to set up a "toggle" to gets this 'radio button group behaviour
Using a bunch of the tutorials on this great site, I've been teaching myself AS, and inparticular the XML parse, etc. with the loop commands to load an ideterminate number of images, etc. attributed in an XML file.I've got the attached code to work before - and it works well here too, loading all the thumbnails in their correct location, and as per the XML file. BUT now it's part of this page, the 'current_thumb' seems stuck on the last thumbnail, and a rollOver of any thumbnail will cause only the last one to action. In addition, when I put the trace command in on the onRollOut function (trace(current_thumb_mc) I get "_level0.menu_mc.item3_mc" no matter which of the four tumbnails I rollOver.
//Initial P Value p = 0; //Project Information //Assigning Information[code]..........
I am attempting to create a flash site for my mom's company. I am having problems with the menu bar. Right now in the timeline the actions for the menu are:[code]but the buttons aren't even showing up as buttons, they are just text?
What I want to accomplish is to have a up and down scroll w/ thumb images. Once you press on a image the thumb gets bigger and have the option to close the big image and back to all the thumbs..
looking for a script that loads 6 logo image thumbs into a grid (randomly from folder), with each thumb having a rollover image and link.. Basically the logo area on this page : I have about 30 client logos in greyscale ( and colour version for rollover), and need to randomly load 6 logos at a time (or random individually) on a timer. oN RollOver. loads colour version of logo with link node in XML Something like...
The thumbs load on a grid and when I click on the thumb they load in the loader. Now I am having trouble removing them. The tutorial has the remove function on the loaded large image so when you click that it removes itself. I would like so that when you click on the a thumb the current image will unload and the thumb that is clicked on will load but can't figure out how to get it to do that. I figured I'd just add a CLICK listener for the "removeFull" function to the "callFull" function but I think it cancels itself out.
Here is the code I am using: (the code to load and unload is toward the bottom)
Code:
var columns:Number = 2; var my_x:Number = 25; var my_y:Number = 75; var my_thumb_width:Number = 65;
I'm having an issue with using a hitTest to make a thumb menu from an image gallery I'm working with move up and down. Basically I need to use a hitTest because there is a conflict with the other rollover functions in the menu itself that prevents me from using a simple onRollOver function. All I want to do is hide the menu until the mouse rolls over it then I want it to pop up then on roll out hide itself again. The gallery is part of a larger site that loads the gallery into the index page and has a full screen function so it needs to stay at the absolute bottom of the page just above the footer at all times. Here is the code I'm working with but think I'm over complicating it.
I found some code to create an XML based Flash gallery (I have lots of XML experience, not so much flash!) and modified it some to make the images show up exactly where I want them to on the stage. The problem I can't figure out is how to make the current image unload and the thumb that is clicked on load. Right now, the images just stack up on top of one another. I've searched all over to find a solution, but so far nothing I tried has worked. I haven't even gotten around to adding tweens to the gallery yet!
I'm all done working on my gallery for my website.I have one last question: Now that I have a working thumb gallery, when I look at my scene there is no main image that pops up until you click on one of the thumbs.Is there a simple action script I can add so that when the person opens or load the page the very first image of my thumbs can pop up automatically?
I am trying to create a picture gallery.. I can arrange the thumbs in the screen and when I click to one of them, it shows the bigger picture. But the problem is, I want the thumb to do something when the mouse is over it.
When I use that tweenmax.to(this.....) part, all the thumbs act like one. I tried to change this to thumbs but I didn't work. How to convert all the thumbs to an individual image?
This seems like it should be easy, but I cannot figure out how to do this in AS3. And after pouring through several books and lots of sample projects, no one quite seems to be using this method to create galleries.The goal: A gallery with circles for buttons that, when clicked, move already loaded images into view.
I have built a widget that creates the buttons and loads the images, but how do I make a connection between one dynamically created sprite(the button) and another (the corresponding image)?When adding children, is there a way to find its reference in the display object list? The buttons are named and will trace their names when clicked, but I don't see this when I'm listing the display objects.And I'm not sure how I can use these names or provide similar names for my loaded images. (My confusion is becoming evident here --or at least clouding my mind -- so I'll just leave it at that.)BTW, I have come across several tools/players that do something similar to what I want, but I'd prefer not to use someone else's controller. (It seems like the time to code this should be less than the time to skin/understand/customize someone else's FLA/SWF.)
I still can not get a basic slideshow with the either thumbnails or prev/next buttons to work. It seems that every tutorial either assumes I downloaded the correct libraries or understand when they are using AS2 or AS3.point me to a "FOOL" proof tutorial or template..I understand the basic part of what is going on but do not know enough AS yet to hammer out the actions myself.
I need to make a XML Driven Photo slide in Flash CS5.It needs to have a Box that contains 5 Thumbnails(by XML) act as buttons.The Box sits on top of the Main photo area and shrinks (or close out) when user click its close button. And it opens out by clicking on a open button.I'm sure it can be done by using timeline, Tweening or you name it..But what about the Thumbnails that run from the XML file?Can they disappear with the Box and retrieve when it opens? is it possible? Here is the ActionScript.
Gallery: horizontal list of thumbnails with next and back buttons. After any Thumnail is clicked, the image should open in large size.actually i have done when Thumnail is clicked the size is increase but i suffer in horizontal list of thumbnails .........How to move when i clicked next Button so its Moves Right side and when i clicked in back button its movie left side ..but i dont want mouse move in right side or left side then Its not play till i clicked on next or back button
I need to develop a scrolling image bar, I have never ever used a 'scroll bar' in flash. What it needs to do is have around 10 thumbnail images, that you can scroll left to right to, then when you click the image enlarges?
I was going through the tutorial on 'XML image gallery with thumbnails' and it was introduced with the thumbnails listed on sidescroll.What if I require the thumbnails to be displayed in 8 per row, 5 columns and whenever thumbnails > 40 it will auto scroll down ? which part of the code I need to change ?
I have a request concerning font embedding,i'm running flash Cs5 and loving the new embed system but i actually forgot to embed some fonts on a textbox and now, at compile-time the output throws :"Fonts should be embedded for any text that may be edited at runtime, other than text with the "Use Device Fonts" setting. Use the Text > Font Embedding command to embed fonts."I mean that's great, but i'd like to know which textbox actually hasn't got its font embedded so i can fix that (stupid flash )I have a lot of textboxes in this project so it will be long before i have re-embedded everything.
I'm building an image gallery in Flash, and I've struck a problem.Here's what I have so far: A series of movie clip buttons which animate quite nicely.I want to make it so that when you click on one of the buttons, a series of thumbnails appears (I would put them all in a movieclip). Here's my code for one of the buttons:
on (rollOver) { gotoAndPlay("over"); }[code]....
When I click on that button, the thumbnails appear, but they are inside the button mc. I want to either make the "india_thumbs" mc appear in a blank mc, or make it appear in its own layer.
I have just finished making a little mp3 player that you can view at the following address [URL]I thought it was going to work on every browser but I think IE is doing weird things. I cannot test on IE because I have a mac so I ask you guys to let me know if its working. I tested on Mozilla and its fine.So why in the world would this mp3 player not work on IE?
I'm working on an image gallery using a mouseOver to scroll the thumbnails. How can I limit the area affected by the mouseOver as at the moment it scrolls wherever the cursor is on the page.
