May 5, 2009I have embedded a flv video onto the stage. I then have loaded in an image which is transparent enough to see the video through it. The problem is I cant now access the video player to control it. Is there anyway to bring the embedded video on the stage above the loaded in image so I can actually click play on the control bar and play the video?

Nov 24, 2009Using a bunch of the tutorials on this great site, I've been teaching myself AS, and inparticular the XML parse, etc. with the loop commands to load an ideterminate number of images, etc. attributed in an XML file.I've got the attached code to work before - and it works well here too, loading all the thumbnails in their correct location, and as per the XML file. BUT now it's part of this page, the 'current_thumb' seems stuck on the last thumbnail, and a rollOver of any thumbnail will cause only the last one to action. In addition, when I put the trace command in on the onRollOut function (trace(current_thumb_mc) I get "_level0.menu_mc.item3_mc" no matter which of the four tumbnails I rollOver.

Oct 1, 2010Is there any possible way to play a .jpeg sequence using .flv player on-the-fly ? I mean, by not needing to convert the entire sequence into one single .flv ? Since I'm not familiar with flash neither action script, I was surfing the web in hope to find any template or tips about similar things to that but I couldn't...
Here's the main list of features:
1- Browse button to load a sequence eg. < filename >####.jpeg
2- Play button with a slider time
3- Previous and next frame-by-frame buttons
4- FPS slider from 0 to 30

May 6, 2009The thumbs load on a grid and when I click on the thumb they load in the loader. Now I am having trouble removing them. The tutorial has the remove function on the loaded large image so when you click that it removes itself. I would like so that when you click on the a thumb the current image will unload and the thumb that is clicked on will load but can't figure out how to get it to do that. I figured I'd just add a CLICK listener for the "removeFull" function to the "callFull" function but I think it cancels itself out.

IDE :: Using A HitTest To Make A Thumb Menu From An Image Gallery
Jun 29, 2009I'm having an issue with using a hitTest to make a thumb menu from an image gallery I'm working with move up and down. Basically I need to use a hitTest because there is a conflict with the other rollover functions in the menu itself that prevents me from using a simple onRollOver function. All I want to do is hide the menu until the mouse rolls over it then I want it to pop up then on roll out hide itself again. The gallery is part of a larger site that loads the gallery into the index page and has a full screen function so it needs to stay at the absolute bottom of the page just above the footer at all times. Here is the code I'm working with but think I'm over complicating it.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Unloading Image In Loader On Thumb Click
May 2, 2010I found some code to create an XML based Flash gallery (I have lots of XML experience, not so much flash!) and modified it some to make the images show up exactly where I want them to on the stage. The problem I can't figure out is how to make the current image unload and the thumb that is clicked on load. Right now, the images just stack up on top of one another. I've searched all over to find a solution, but so far nothing I tried has worked. I haven't even gotten around to adding tweens to the gallery yet!

Oct 28, 2010I have 4 movieclips that are animated around the stage and a basket movieclip button as the home button in the far left corner. When I click the basket I would like to have actionscript animate those 4 movieclips into the basket with an acceleration in 20 frames. This I can easily do without acceleration as I can find out the current location of the movie clips, find out the distance between it and the basket and then divide it by the number of frames I need, and then use that as the speed. But to be honest I am not sure where to begin when I include acceleration. I have dabbled with acceleration in the past but not with a specific number of frames in mind.

- Having only one source to detect the color "WHITE". But having multiple "getColorBoundsRect" detecting white on that ONE source but on DIFFERENT regions.
Lets say this M1(colorboundsrect) will only detect the first part of the source) and M2 will be detecting on another region of SAME source.

It looks fine on my PC in IE, however... on my clients iMac, the popup opens with an address (location) field. Needless to say, this is unacceptable to my client.
