how do i make a button trigger a movie clip that targets specific coords? I'm building a map and when a button is click it goes to a defined point. right now it jumps to the coords, but i'd much rather it smoothly move instead. the other thing is that i would like it to move from whatever point it is currently at.

I am trying to move a movie clip containing content via AS3 tween with a button outside of the movie clip. I have achieved this effect on another project by using the following code:

I have 10 objects in 10 layers to make a single logo. I have created them using flash drawing objects. Now I would like each object to come one by one on stage using motion tween. How can I go further? Do I need to make each object a movie clip before set it motion tween? Or do I need to make a single movie with all 10 objects as combined? Please note that I need each object to come on stage one by one (not a whole logo on once). Please provide help or any example tutorial link.

I haven't been able to achive this. but I found a temporary way around it by making the clip load once the "3." target is full. this works but isn't completly accurate, I need it to also check if the other targets are full before the clip loads. I have a simple animation which fades in two movie clip objects at the end. After this, the image stays static. I want both objects to be buttons to link to a website and to emailI'm not sure how to go about doing this, it seems once an object converted to a movie symbol it cannot be a button at the same time. How can I achieve this with CS4?

I already use various tools to extract the text and produce a serious of high quality images from the file and the system works well. The last piece of the puzzle is to be able to highlight specific parts of the document to help users with accessibility issues.
However I cannot figure out how to calculate where the specific text is positioned on the page? Notes: The documents uploaded to the system are from 3rd parties, so fonts may be embedded. Meaning that I cannot be sure of the width of specific letters. The text to be highlighted may not be unique, the same text may be repeated How can I calculate the coordinates, height and width of a specific piece of text on a PDF, so that I can then draw a box around it?
Waht is the right way to get 3D coords from 2D mouse coords using Away3D. (version 3.6.0) It's ambigoius problem in general, so there is restriction that 3D point belongs to some fixed plane.
There are some examples with camera.unproject and plane.getIntersectionLineNumbers methods, but they don't work if camera is rotated or plane is not trivial.
I recall doing this, but don't remember the steps. I need to make a movie clip into a button. I recall having frames with the labels "_up, _over, and _down" But that's all I remember. I lost my book with the instructions. Does anyone have any links to tutorials on this.

I don't know much about flash yet but I can imagine FLV is just some sort of special flash application which can also include arbitrary code.
Is it possible to track how many times that movie file has been played by letting the FLV file perform a server-callback when playback begins?

I tried to use movieclip(parent).menu_btn.function(); which is not working
and now I'm trying to use array as a friend suggested me.

the problem is when i clicked play button and it links to the play page,but it has an intro animation for 2-3 seconds before they reach the menu_btn that's why the error come out is that I have a null object since they execute the code b4 it comes to the menu_btn keyframe.

if I attach two movie clips MC1 and MC2 on the stage.MC1 has a simple button also. MC2 is transparent.First I attach the MC1 and then I attach MC2. Both on the stage. So obviously, MC2 is added over the MC1.
