i am loading some pages/images from some folder whose path is specified in the Xml used like this:
<page src="user/_IMAGES_//image_0002.png" />
I am using Chinese /Japanese text in this Now the problem is that when i run it in the flash it loads those pages and when i load it in the browser then that file doesn't load anything.
I am having issues opening up fla files using Adobe cs3.
Scenario: The company I work for recently attained a client that has a website with flash programming on it. The client recently asked to have improvements made to their site. Part of the improvement deals with modifying the flash program. The client was able to hand over to the company I work for the source for their site which includes the adobe files for the flash program.
When I attempt to access the main fla program of the client's website, i receive the following message:"an error occurred opening the file."
what options are available for me to attempt to read the fla file?

View 2 RepliesWhenever I publish a Flash project, when I open the html file that is generated along with the swf, I am never able to see the swf embedded in the html file (when I open it in Dreamweaver, for example.) This is frustrating as far as manipulating the html file is concerned. All I see is some text about "Place alternate content here for those w/o Flash Player installed, etc." Why can't I see the swf file? It is there as expected when I upload all the proper files and/or view them in a browser locally. Alternatively, what I am having to do in order to design the html file properly is open a new file and embed the swf manually. But this approach is not good as I am missing out on all the other browser detection features that the html file that is published by Flash includes naturally. How can I preserve this benefit and still get into the details of designing the html file?

Should I try converting getURL's to javascript calls?
Is there a work around to the getURL Firefox issue? I am having trouble getting Firefox to open my file from my exe when FF is set to my default browser. If FF is already open, the getURL functions fine. If FF is closed, I have to click on my button twice in order to open the file (ie, click once opens a blank window, click again and the file opens) I have FF 2.0.0.1, Flash MX 2004 Prof. I have tried setting an interval to have the getURL fire again but I can't seem to get it to work.

I would like to force a pdf to be saved to disc rather than opening in a browser window? I am actually executing the command in flash in a button instance like this

But when I upload the site to a server on the Internet, one component does not work. When you click on the link an image should open in a popup window. The popup window opens but the image does not appear.
Unfortunately, we have not been able to figure out why it works on the disc and not on the server.

But now I get this error: unable to open 'locale/en_US' I looked up and I do have the following directory inside my Flex Builder 3 installation:

I want to be able to have a button open a new window specifically sized and without scroll bars or extraneous browser crap.
I have build a basic and very simple web browser, it contains two features, the "go back" and "go forward" navigation tools, and of course the URL search field. And i'm happy with that, but, it can't read javascript or the necessary components for a "basic" browser. So i wonder if there is any kind of solution for my web browser so it can view pages and execute javascript features.
View 1 RepliesI made an as3.0 website in Flash cs4. [URL]The content of the pages is placed in a ScrollPane component, that comes with cs4. It all works fine in Chrome, Opera and IE but Firefox and Safari only show the top-left 100x100px.
Here's how it works.index.html holds a variable that tells my flash where to go (agenda, djs, bookings etc.). index.html loads preloader.swf via swfObject. Preloader.swf loads theKitchen.swf and passes a variable to it so it knows where to go, and triggers the init() function.

In the "mainswf" then comes some if/else statements to build the desired page. If you click a button in the menu a function is triggered with an if/else statement that checks if the page that belongs to that button isnt allready shown. If its false the source of the ScrollPane is set to that page.Every page is build in a seperate class. The class ready an XML file that holds all the text/urls to images/ video.

Where php receives and writes it in the local sytem then sends it to the youtube server automatically trhu a script.This is all backend though I have no way to check if the video file was uploaded succesfully in youtube than to check it manually in youtube.
So im thinking of a new php script where it will receive and write the video file from flash. Then opening a browser window where it will automatically upload the video and at the same time track it thru the browser of its status using debug prints perhaps.
Im barely still learning php. I tried to do some research on this but found no success.
I have create a game and added keydown event on Stage but but problem is user need to click on stage then it start capturing keydown event. I want that when game window open after that user don't need to click on flash stage area for unable keydown event..
View 1 RepliesI'm running an online game site, and a few websites are really bad about embedding some of my games and stealing bandwidth.
To combat this, I replaced the original files with super-simple .swf files that redirected back to my own websites -- thus stealing back the traffic that they were stealing from me.
The problem came later when something changed with the new Flash player, and new windows no longer opened. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get new windows to open. I've tried a few different approaches, but nothing appears to work.
So what I'm wondering is, can this even be done anymore -- where I can switch out a .swf that's being leeched with one that opens a window to my own site?
I am making my website's nav bar in flash. I want some of the buttons to open new browser windows to display aspx/html files. Is this possible using actionscript 3.0?
