I wrote a mobile application ( AIR ) which storing some strings into a SqlLite database.It is external database file, which shall reside in a sub folder of the main application folder.So far everything works flawless while debugging on the PC, but when i am exporting the application into .APK file the result package does not contain the database, neither the database folder.

The one application constantly retrieves data from the internet, while the other can be opened and closed when you want, both apps use the same database. The problem is that at random I get an Error #3119: Database file is currently locked. Is it not possible to have two stable connections in a Adobe AIR environment?

Scenario: The company I work for recently attained a client that has a website with flash programming on it. The client recently asked to have improvements made to their site. Part of the improvement deals with modifying the flash program. The client was able to hand over to the company I work for the source for their site which includes the adobe files for the flash program.
When I attempt to access the main fla program of the client's website, i receive the following message:"an error occurred opening the file."
what options are available for me to attempt to read the fla file?
i am loading some pages/images from some folder whose path is specified in the Xml used like this:
<page src="user/_IMAGES_//image_0002.png" />
I am using Chinese /Japanese text in this Now the problem is that when i run it in the flash it loads those pages and when i load it in the browser then that file doesn't load anything.
When working with CRUD operation in flex, I want to know how to open only one time for all update and delete operations. How can I do this?
View 2 RepliesUsing Flex Builder : I have created a new Actionscript Project. I want to use mx.controls.Button class in it, so I did the following :
Added '-locale=en_US -source-path=locale/{locale}' to the Actionscript compiler arguments Added 'framework.swc' to the library path
But now I get this error: unable to open 'locale/en_US' I looked up and I do have the following directory inside my Flex Builder 3 installation:
./sdks/3.0.0/frameworks/locale/en_US
I wanted to import an older FB project into the flash builder on my new pc, but I only have the filestructure. So I used 'import>existing projects into workspace'.The files seem to be intact still, but the project now gives me an error regarding an swc in the bin folder:
'unable to open 'something'in'something'.swc
when tried to build a AIR application for android using flex builder I did the following steps to do that .plz tell me where the error happened
1.Created Air application using flex builder that produced two type of files .swf and .xml files and cetification file
2.Created apk file from the above files using "Package assisstant pro"
3.then i installed AIR 2.5 run time in my emulator
4.after that i tried to install the apk file that Created from the 'package assisstant pro' then i tried to install the apk file by using command prompt then it show this error "INSTATTION FAILED INVALLID APK" .And also i cann't install other apk file (Sample air for android application apk file that downloaded from the site) that shows the same error,I succeed to install other application's(Say for printing hello world) apk file.[code]
I have a series of projects that we have been using Flex3/Flashbuilder to work with, but I've recently been trying to move over to Flashdevelop for most of my development but I have hit a snag with a certain project structure that Flex/FB can handle but FD/mxmlc can't with sdk 3.*What I have is something like this:

/resources
The resources in flex is added as a class path to the project and I am embedding images like this: [Embed(source="/wardrobe.png")]
This all works fine in Flex/FB but FD I get there errors for all my images :
Error:unable to resolve '/wardrobe.png' for transcoding
Error:unable to transcode /wardrobe.png
This problem don't occur when I'm using the Flex 4 sdk, but for these projects I require 3.2.
I have a Android Actionscript project that I am trying to incorporate sound in, but having a problem that I cannot figure out. I have the sound file in the same directory as my class file and my .xfl file. I am trying to start the music file as soon as the application starts via class reference, but am getting the same error everytime:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error.

View 4 RepliesI'm having problems setting up Ant to use with Flex.I install it fine but I get this error when I try and check the install: Unable to locate tools.jar.From what I've read, I just need to point JAVA_HOME to the directory that contains the jdk. Unfortunately,I'm not sure I know which jre I'm using in Eclipse and also, I do a search for tools.jar on my machine and it's not there???I have a C:Program FilesJava directory and there is this in there:

In Eclipse --> Windows --> Preferences --Java --> Installed JREs, it's pointing to here:

Im creating an sqlite db in my air for android app inside the following function:[code]i can successfully create tables, insert and select, but each time i re-publish the app from flash cs5.5 the database is overwritten and all data is lost. Totally stumped, any ideas welcome!i'm publishing a debug release directly from flash pro via usb. View 1 RepliesI tried to deploy my otherwise working flex app on a web server (tomcat 6).It threw a Channel.Security.Error.After some research, I became aware that flash movie loaded from flash_movie_domain will not be able to load resource from any other domain.Some suggested adding a crossdomain.xml.However, the crossdomain.xml route doesn't quite make sense.In this case, I am loading resources from a third party web site.My understanding is that I need this third party website to include a crossdomain.xml on their root directory in order for app to function.The third party web service is provided as is. I will not be able to change what's given. Since the third party is providing public access, it already explicitly give permission to the general public. Adding a crossdomain.xml to their root seems to be a redundant act?
View 1 RepliesIn a typical as3 or flex project, after loading xml file, i load jpg files (thumbnails etc) manually, so i can use them in sprites / movie clips etc..currently i am working on air mobile project. and i am attempting to load some thumnails(pg) file to list view (spark) and using custom item renderer.itemrenderer has an spark image componnt in it. and its data property is set to Image object.i can check that image files do exists in file application directory.do i need to load all those thumbnails in memory. then use them?
View 1 RepliesUsing flash professional CS5.5 - creating an Air for Android app. It appears you can't deploy any additional files, other than the swf file, In Air debug launcher (mobile) the additional files deploy.But as soon as you deploy it for real on an android machine it fails to install the extra files. (it's a small sqllite file).I have looked in the final APK file using zip and they are there in the assets folder.

I'm trying to use a library developed by a coworker, which was delivered as an SWC.I added the library to the Library Path in the project properties. Component set: MX + Spark, Framework linkage: Merged into code. View 1 RepliesI want to create a Flex 3 application running in Adobe Air that accesses an SQLite database and I need to keep this database in sync with an SQL server 2005 database running a website.Is this something that Flex supports or is it going to be a custom script? Also, has anybody done anything like this?
Edit: The synchronisation can be done on a daily basis rather than real time. The data will be read only from a front end perspective with a CMS to do updates on the website.

View 1 RepliesI'm having some trouble getting around a security restriction of flex. Saving a file is apparently an action that can only be invoked upon user interaction. The problem is that after my user clicks on the save button, I need to perform a database query to get the data for the file I want to save.
Because Flex works asynchronous, I have to make the database call and then catch the ResultEvent in a different function. In that function, I no longer have the user's mouseclick event. How am I then supposed to save this file?

I am planning on using Flash Builder 4/Flex to write an AIR application which is primarily based around recording, storing and analyzing data.I'll be creating charts etc that need to update in almost real time.It's essential to me that the application be able to function without an internet connection so I need a local database of some variety,but I would also eventually like to build in online synchronization of the data where either database can be update each other based on newer information. Moreover, some type of encryption would definitely be welcome, and speed is a large concern
Synchronization: Primarily updates/additions/deletions will be done on the offline database, but ideally I want to have a web interface that will allow the same updates/additions/deletions and will be synced (beyond that I'm not sure exactly how to do it as I can model that based on what is most achievable).I'm wondering if there's any prebuilt engine that could handle the synchronization of 2 databases. I may end up having the web interface only be for additions, which would be significantly easier to sync.. and I may start that way, but i want to build with technologies that will best allow me to implement full online crud at some point.
Here is the issue: a client wants his entire equipment inventory accessible by persons navigating to his jquery mobile site. The inventory that exists on the desktop site was, as I understood, built with Flex. Is it possible to access this database for the jquery mobile site? I believe it is.
