I have an Flex 4 application that I am developing in Flash Builder 4. I'm trying to use a library developed by a coworker, which was delivered as an SWC.I added the library to the Library Path in the project properties. Component set: MX + Spark, Framework linkage: Merged into code. When I attempt to instantiate a component from this library, I get the following error:unable to add archive file: [library].swc$localeen_US....sourcesimagesAcceptButton.png (The system cannot find the path specified)

Is there a way to extract a single file from a zip file in Adobe AIR?
I'm using NoChumps zip library to extract files from a zip. In this library the entire IDataStream is loaded into memory and after that you can extract file entries easily. In cases where the zip is 5 to 10MB there are no problems. But when the zip is 80MB, which many are, 80MB is loaded into memory. This causes the app to crash and run slow on mobile devices. According to the zip specification,
"A ZIP file is identified by the presence of a central directory located at the end of the file, this allows appending of new files. The directory stores a list of the names of the entries (files or directories) stored in the ZIP file, along with other metadata about the entry, and an offset into the ZIP file, pointing to the actual entry data."
Also, I do not have control of the size of zip files but most average is 60 to 100MB. Files inside are ~4MB.

it is possible to open a gz or other format archive, which contains multiple files with flash and then process the files.i guess it should be possible with byte-array.i managed to open a gzipped xml file this way.however i am a little stumped on how to determine which file is what in the opened and decompressed archive.

after archive and install procedure (osx 10.5.8 Intel) I see a blank File Info panel (Photoshop CS5 and all CS5 applications).. I must force exit, how could be solved?I have used it before archive and install procedure without trouble, should repair some permission about flash panels or someother??
I have same troubles with Illustrator, Fireworks and Indesign... only into File -> File Info panel, I have trouble also with "fast view" (space bar) into all FLV files, they cannot preview nothing, just i see a - com.adobe.flv.. The reason why panels did not work properly was a missing Flash trust file for that user location. Without such a trust file the embedded flash player refuses to "play" .. but what mean?? I dont understand this.

My problem is the next. I am making a kind of gallery using an xml file.
Now ,when i attach a movieclip for each generated item i have into my main mc, "this movieclip is kind of a holder for an image with some information and a button" They come up all at once , i would like them so show up ,for example 500 msec after each one.
so i thought i could accomplish this with setInterval , but with no luck for now

For some reason I am unable to create a FLV file from a MP4 file with high bitrate. I even created a custom setting and specified bitrate as 2500 but the output file is always around 775.

What we would like to do is create an archive (f4v or mp4) on the FMS 4 server any live stream that is pushed from our endpoints. Primarily as a backup and if necessary - an editable file within CS4 or CS5.
We are at a University and capture lecture powerpoints natively and sometimes need to edit the files. flv is not enough and we would like to take afvantage of mp4 and the FMS server while we use it for overflow as a recorder.

I'm trying to create a multidimensional array that will act as a sort of Archive.
I have 3 different values that are assigned to a single-dimensional array. This array, called currentarray, is very dynamic and changes often. But now I want to create a whole new array while saving the information from the first array, and then I want to be able to switch in between both arrays, loading them up, changing them, saving the information into the Archive array.
So basically, the Archive array must eventually look something like this:
archivearray = [[item1, item2, item3], [item1, item2, item3]]
Since I want to shorten the code as much as possible, I made it so that Item3 in the archivearray is the position of that group of items. In English, that means that the Archive array would be like this:
archivearray = [[item1, item2, 0], [item1, item2, 1]]
Still with me? Good. So my code right now is this:
archivearray[currentarray[2]] = currentarray

am trying to export/publish a swf of a dress up game I made so I can put it in Dreamweaver and upload it to my site but I keep getting this error message:"Error Creating Flash Movie File: Be sure the destination file is not locked or on a locked drive. Also, check that the file name is not too long".I am also unable to test the movie, it gives me the same error message.

I recently upgraded FMS 3. to 3.5 and whenever we upload video to the VOD folder they automatically get the attribute "a" for archive.They don't work with that so once we go in and take the "check" off the "make ready for archive" off the video will work properly.Is there a way to turn this off?

I have developed a audio/video/text chat application with multiple users. I would like to store/save live session in to a single video so that we can manage archived live sessions, and make these sessions available for other users just like a normal video/FLV.
I know we can store single live streaming with DVR but I need to store all the live cams into single video. Note: I'm using FMIS for above application (with rtmp).

I am having issues opening up fla files using Adobe cs3.
Scenario: The company I work for recently attained a client that has a website with flash programming on it. The client recently asked to have improvements made to their site. Part of the improvement deals with modifying the flash program. The client was able to hand over to the company I work for the source for their site which includes the adobe files for the flash program.
When I attempt to access the main fla program of the client's website, i receive the following message:"an error occurred opening the file."
what options are available for me to attempt to read the fla file?

I have created a style in which i am defining a font family.When i apply this style to label it reflects the font were as there is no change when it is applied to a spark button.I Tried various way to Apply font style but it doesn't work.Other properties work fine except font family. I made a flash-file that will load a file externaly (http://.../locus.f4v). When I publish that flash file it renders a locus.swf, locus.index and a SkinOverAllNoFullNoCaption.swf (skin).When I upload everything works fine. But to easily manage all of my video's I can't have them lying arround and would like them in a folder. So I create a folder locusvideos. I change all the links in the html-file to locusvideos/... .swf but it just shows an empty page.so where are all the files at? locus.html (is in the most top folder)
/locusvideos/locus.swf
/locusvideos/SkinOverAllNoFullNoCaption.swf
and the video-file is still on the same place.

I am trying to modify a .fla file with flash cs3.When open it, the file does not play or look like it should.All I need to do is change the links within the file (which I did easily) but still the file doesnt look right.I got a developer friend to also try it and he had the same problem.This is the site on a testing urlAnd this is a link to the actual .fla file that can be downloaded:Is it perhaps because the file was made in a program other than flash?

I have Developed a vertical XML Gallery. But I am not able to Get all the images in xml file, By default Gallery is moving but I want that to be in stand Mode and whenever the Mouse move up gallery should move up and whenever the mouse move down gallery should move down.

im able to pull in an xml file, and push all the data in to arrays. Im pulling out this data and performing calculations on it. Now, iv created a varialble called _global.newLocation = _global.percentage*100;
which equals my percentage change, multiplyed by 100. It works because i have used trace and you can see it.
I would like to then take all these newLocations and put these in to an array so i can refer to them by their index but i just cant seem to get it to work?

i am loading some pages/images from some folder whose path is specified in the Xml used like this:

I am using Chinese /Japanese text in this Now the problem is that when i run it in the flash it loads those pages and when i load it in the browser then that file doesn't load anything.

in my timeline i have two orbs transforming into arrows. it works, i watch it, then i'm like, ok, all good time to save. i save. exit/open, and come to find that my orbs were not transforming. i looked on the timeline and they are not set to transform, so i redid the shape tween, save,exit open and the same thing. so why won't my file save the shape tweens? i'm previewing it in cs5.
--edit--for some reason it works in the swf file, but not the fla file.

Normally I use portfolio.classes and I have no trouble. My AS3 prefs are set to the alexflash folder.
