I will go to URL... but when the pages load the content will be read from ABC's server not XYZ's server.The users will use the data on XYZ's website not realizing that the content is actually coming from another site.

Does AS3 handle connecting to SQL servers and using it's data or do you need an intermediary such as JavaScript to pass information to and from Flash?

The issue is once some content read by AS then it is not getting updated that means after every execution of the function content of src variable below remains same even thou the source file is updated.

I am using the load command to load content from a .txt file on my server. I have it all working just find when I preview the swf file in flash and when I view the .swf in my web browser from my server. The problem when I view the .swf file on my php page (home.php) I only get undefined variables, it seems to not be able to connect to the .txt files only when I am viewing it on my php page. Again if I view the .swf file on my server using my web browser it works fine.

I seem to recall reading somewhere (but for the life of me I can't find the article I was reading), that with Adobe FMS you could store content on one machine, and then run the actual server on a separate machine. Is this correct? If so, how would you go about doing it?

View 1 RepliesWe purchased Flash Media Streaming Server Interactive edition in order to have the security featuers of not allowing unauthorized connections streaming live content to the server. Is there a document with procedures that details how to make this happen, the allowedHTMLdomains.txt does not work when you place in IP ranges that you do not want connecting. I need some help just to figure out a way to keep someoen from connecting to the server and not streaming live content. Has anyone configured this in Linux because the documentation is mainly for Windows. Any help/advice would be great since this seems to be a common problem for anyone who runs Linux.

It times out and Firefox says 'Server Not Found' It was working fine on Sunday morning and has been doing for a year now, I rebooted the server and that did nothing. I have no idea why it will not load as the server runs fine and I can still stream and everything.

I paste this into a web page hosted on another ( ordinary, nonFMS ) server, I see the player show up, but after 5 seconds I get message that the player cannot connect, please click Play to try again. Of course same work fine if the page is hosted out of webroot on the FMS server. So I assume the "example" does not include absolute URL's so I tried hacking in full URL's for the swfs/videoPlayer.swf and the rtmp:/ URLs to no avail. Which makes it a pretty poor "example" IMO. I also noticed that the .smil file itself also includes a relative URL to the vod app, I modified that as well - the object tags still works only when hosted from the /webroot folder.
So what should this "example" really look like with absolute URL's to use in a real way? Also is there some content protection mechanism which is preventing this from being embedded in other pages not hosted locally?
I have a device which sends MPEG2 multicast udp live stream, I can read it from URL.. for instance. Next it is transcoded with vlc.[code]My question is how to read from udp://@127.0.0.1:10013 using FMS and send it to flash clients ?
View 3 RepliesWe purchased FMIS and we are encoding large 15+ hour MP4 recordings using flash media encoder. When opening these large files for playback, which have not been opened recently the player displays the loading indicator for up to 4 minutes! Once it has apparently been cached on the server it opens immediately from any browser even after clearing local browser cache. So a few questions for the experts
1. Why is it taking so long to load the file. Is it because the MP4 metadata is in the wrong format and the file is so huge? I read somewhere that Media Encoder records with incorrect MP4 metadata is that still the case?
2. Once its cached on the server, exactly how much of it is cached. Some of these files are larger than 500mb.
3. What fms settings do you suggest I change. FMIS is running on windows server R2 64 bit, but FMIS itself is 32 bit. We have not upgraded to the 64 bit version. We have 8GB of ram. Is it OK to set FMS cache to 3GB. And would that only have enough room for 3-4 large files, because we have hundreds of them.

In the flex code I need to read the content of the uploaded file without calling the FileReference.load() method (Since it is a big issue when uploading large files). I checked many online articles and didn't find a way to do this in flex.access the content of this file without using FileReference.load() method?
View 1 RepliesThe company I work for installed FMS on a server running Centos for a customer who needed streaming media capabilities. It worked fine for 3 months until today the customer called us and informed us that their client program can no longer connect to the streaming media server. No one has done anything to the server to cause this to happen. When attempting to access the admin console to diagnose the program, the streaming server returned a 500 Internal Server Error. So I tried another page. Same result. Reboots of both the hardware server and the FMS have changed nothing.

I have an extremely simple video player swf (actually copied from the snippet in adobe help) that progressively downloads and plays an flv. I added a line to display the bytesTotal. When I use a url in the code that points to a flash video on my server, the bytesTotal metadata is not being read or displayed properly (in Safari it displays it as 4294967295 - the highest possible 32-but number, and in FireFox it displays it as the same as the bytesLoaded). However, if I change the url in the code to point to an flv on another domain, it displays the bytesTotal correctly. So, apparently it has something to do with my server. I tried changing the mime types in my .htaccess file to:
AddType flv-application/octet-stream .flv
AddType video/x-flv .flv
AddHandler flv-stream .flv

I would like to RePublish Live Stream to a CDN (Level3). this CDN must use FCpublish on Client Side (like FME).
my Publisher send stream on FMS3.5 (Server1) and this stream must go to Serveur2 (CDN) with FCPulish.
On my local serveur1, i add some code to do that but whitout succes...
i can RePublish when i simulate the second Server(2) on my LocalHost BUT withOut the FCPublish Method.. (i use the sample from Adobe Flash Media Server "Publishing server 2 server")
How can i change this sample to use the FCPublish method to republish the stream to Server2 ?
with my tests, i think that my problem is how to receive the "onFCPublish = netstream.publish.start" from the server2 to my server1

Im doing live streaming directly from webcam like Ustream.TV. Im using Flash Media Server 3.5, and I record cuepoints of broadcaster with the method ns = new NetStream(); ns.send('functionName' , 'value'); I publish the content and record it in a .flv file. However when I download this FLV file and extract the metadata with tools like FLVTOOL2, or FLVMETA, the cuepoints that I recorded with ns.send() method doesn`t show. I know they are there since when I play the FLV file in another client, I can receive the calls for the 'functionName' in the exact time that I call while recording. What I`m doing wrong? I would like to encode recorded video with Flash Media Encoder and insert into it CuePoints that can call to the same function that I do with live streaming. To do that, first I need to know how the CuePoints are created and fixed into the FLV file that I record directly from webcam. I need to know how they are stored to do it manually in Flash Media Encoder.
