ActionScript 3.0 :: Animate A Falling String Waving In Wind?
Apr 9, 2010
I am trying to animate a string.Basically what it does is shoot straight up at a random angle, the other end is attached to a point, and when it's done, the free end that's up in the air will fall down with gravity and do a bend/curve in the wind as if it were free falling down with gravity.
I want to give a cool abstract art feel to my program so I am trying to animate a line waving... the only problem is that this is day 2 searching for a tutorial and I can't find one in AS3... they're all in flash.I can easily find how to draw a wavy line programmatically, but not animate.If you've ever seen the PS3 Intro, that's kind of what I'm going for, except lines instead of ribbons.
I have a question; is it possible to animate an array that contains a split string? I've added the string into a dynamically made textfield, and I'm trying to figure out how to have each letter appear one by one, creating the typing effect and have easing towards the end.
public class InfoPage extends AbstractPage { private var _info:TextField; [code].........
I have some code here for some falling leaves. I was wondering how it can be altered so there is a delay between a group of leaves falling and the next group falling? also to slow down at the end of the fall? [code]
I have a bunch of letters which I am going to hang off a tree branch or some fixed bar, with string.A gentle breeze will blow against them causing them to rock (and therefore rotate) gently at different rates according to how heavy each letter is and how long the string is.
I'm hoping there is a way to assign a weight to each letter and just introduce a wind vector.f there is no easy way to do this, do I have to make movie clips for each letter and calculate for myself how much movement there will be for each letter?
I've got a grass animation, where the blades are blowing around in the wind. This works exactly as planned. But I've now got to bring flowers in to the mix and need to adapt the actionscript to have an effect on a shape/movie clip. I've tried to adapt it as best I can, but my coding skills are ropey at best and I'm having no luck at all.
With Keith Peter's "Actionscript 3.0 Animation" book it's dead easy to make one that oscillates smoothly between two fixed values but I need one that varies it's oscillation randomly (within reason of course). Imagine the teeth of a saw, up-down-up-down-up-down, very dull. What I want is more like a range of mountains, the same smooth change in height but less regular.
At the bottom I have some leaves there. I want to make a couple different size leaves like that and make them go from left to right at random paths and have it loop. I don't know much about actionscript but is there a way to do this without having to make a bunch of guide paths and doing lots of tweens and rotations?
I want to make AS 3 effect, that looks like sine wave goes through circle or another closed shape.This morphing shape I want to use as mask lately. Shape morphing should look something like this image.I know that function curveTo() is used to create this effect.I've seen this effect in the net, but now cannot find it.
this project is created in FlashDevelop. It is a waving a flag by clicking on it,but, how I can make the flag flown directly when i execute the swf?.Here's the code:
And I want it to randomly wave like if it was a hair in the wind, or like a snake moving, or even like a flame waving.Is there any way of doing it with actionscript?Is it also possible to make react to the cursor? When I pass through it with the mouse it moves, like if I just touched it.
I'd like to mention that i'm a totally newbye with flash and actionscriptI'd like to load some external text inside a movie clip that contains a bitmap from library.It is a waving flag created via AS2 with "Waving***EffectAS2" from flash-filter.netthe code is:
Code: // attach filter on stage var myFilter:MovieClip = this.attachMovie("WavingFlagEffectAS2", "WavingFlagEffectAS2", 1);
it is possible to create a waving flag effect from the image in Flash using ActionScript 3? How can I do that? I found a lot of topics like this, but have not found a solution
I'm trying to create a flash animation with the effect of a waving flag and have seen online some, but what I liked most is the following website: [URL]
But I have a question because I want to customize it a bit more.
Actionscript banner is perfect except for one question I have. When you edit from the page: [URL]
and paste the resulting code to my actionscript 3 flash cs4:
import cfx.Efectos.*; var neBandera=new FxOndular(new Bandera(0,0),new Point(0,50),new Point(2,2),8,3); neBandera.Start();
I have a pendulum that swings infinitely. I'd like to set the maximum angle to a random amount to give it a sort of "blown by a random wind" effect. I'm not great at code, so I can't figure out how to randomize "maxAngle" without making the animation jerky. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this? Here is my code and FLA...
I did the excellent tutorial on Falling Snow for Flash CS4/AS3 on this website.I now want to add further graphics and animations to the snow for an e-card I'm creating.I have tried to add to the timeline and animate a logo, but then the snow just flashes on and off in one piece. Is there a way I can make the snow fall, say, halfway through my animation so I can add other things to it?
I have this code that I got from this site and I figured out how to stop the falling snow but it just disappears with remove moviclip function. Is there any way to have the snow fall to an end instead of just disappear? So it looks more natural? I would even take a fade to alpha =0. I have attached the .fla file for viewing.
I've done the tutorial on falling snow but what I really want it to do is fall upwards... like bubbles on water.what part of the code I need to change...
I'm using Flash MX and am following the falling snow tutorial in the actionscript section. What I'd like is for the snow to move from right to left, but still with the random y position.This code gives me snow (particle) moving right, left, and right again but most ends up along the top (y value of 0).
onClipEvent (load) { //specifies the size of the movie stage movieWidth = 131;[code]....
