ActionScript 3.0 :: Applying Glow Filter To Dynamic Textbox

Aug 6, 2009

I am trying to apply the glow filter to a dynamic text box when the text is clicked on. However this seems to be canceling the rest of my animations. The text glows for a moment or two when clicked upon, but then it disappears and the url address it is linked to does not appear. Below is the code I'm currently trying to use.

Code:
text1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, MouseDown);
var color:Number = 0x003366;
var alphas:Number = .8;
var blurX:Number = 5;
var blurY:Number = 2.5;
[Code] .....

ActionScript 3.0 :: Motion Tween - Applying Glow Filter At 5 Second Intervals

Oct 3, 2011

I was given the following code to establish a motion tween for five different movie clips. The code also ensures that a glow filter is applied at 5-second intervals. My user has now requested that the code be changed to ensure the following occurs:
Once glow filter has been applied to the darkBlue_mc and when the glow filter is beginning to be applied to the red_mc, then the glow needs to disappear from the darkBlue_mc, and so on through all five movie clips, so only the current movie clip should have the glow filter shown. When the glow filter is applied to the last movie clip, which is lightBlue_mc, then he wants all movie clips to have the glow filter applied after a five second delay.

ActionScript Code:
import fl.transitions.Tween;
import fl.transitions.easing.*;
import fl.transitions.TweenEvent;
import flash.filters.GlowFilter;
var textCount:int = 0;

ActionScript 2.0 :: Stylesheet Applying To A Tags But Not To B In Dynamic TextBox

Feb 1, 2006

I have a dynamic text box that pulls HTML-formatted content from a PHP script and everything is working, including getting it formatted with a stylesheet, except the stylesheet seems to be ignored for <B> tags. This is the code I tried:

b,B { font-weight:bold; color:#6600FF; font-family:Baskerville; }
a:link { text-decoration:none; font-family:Baskerville; font-weight:bold; }
a:hover { text-decoration:underline; }
a:active { text-decoration:none; }

This is just for texting. I have a simple textbox with plain text, part of it in bold, part of it as a link, and the link gets the Baskerville font, but the bold tag doesn't. When I set a color for the link, the link gets a color but the bold tag doesn't.

ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Create Glow Without Using Filter

May 12, 2011

I am creating an application for iPhone4, and one of the problems I am having is the lack of filter support. I am trying to create a "stroke" around some bitmaps... an example would be a text field that is white on a bright background - I would put a black stroke around it to contract it... there are other needs as well, but this is an example.

Before, I would just put a glow filter on the text field, tweak the settings and it looked good and did exactly what I wanted.But iPhone4 high resolution with gpu acceleration don't support filters - and I can't change those requirements... so any and all bitmap filters are out. Any way I can create a glow filter effect without using filters that would not be a major performance hit for fps and memory?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Add A Glow Filter To A Single MovieClip

Sep 8, 2009

I'm trying to add a glow filter to a single MovieClip out of a few I've got on my stage. This is what I've got so far but for some reason it applies the filter to absolutely every layer on stage, instead of just the one MC I want..

[Code]...

Come to think of it, all I'd really need would be a stroke, rather than a glow; but I don't know of any "stroke filter".. If the big picture would help at all, what I'm trying to do is "add" borders to a few (intersecting and growing) disk layer masks.. I'd like the stroke intersection to look like the "Liquid Form" found here: [URL]

The problem is that I don't know to remove the effect. The effect remains in the opction as it was highlighted. Thus, I'd like to set a duration, or something that removes the effect I create.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Embedding Font Works - Not At The Glow Filter

[URL] This is the link of my project. I embedded a kind of pixlated customfont say "font.tff". As you can see the clock in the right corner uses this font, but the glow behind it, doesn't (on my other computer it is). How do I fix this? I already manually embedded the characters at the dynamic textfield. If you hover over the "city" in middle left, you'll see a stats window. The font there works fine.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Applying The AdjustColor Filter To A Textfield

In the Flash CS4 IDE, if you have Dynamic Text, you can apply a filter labeled Adjust Color which lets you change Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, and Hue. Can someone explain how to do that through Actionscript 3 instead of the IDE? I found a couple of old tutorials and followed them but can't get things working. Not sure if that filter is called ColorMatirx or ColorMatrixFilter or if those refer to something else entirely.

How do I make it to work so when I will slide it up blur increases and when I slide it back blur decreases and when slider is at 0, no blur is applied.[code]

ActionScript 3.0 :: Applying A Filter To Multiple Display Objects?

Apr 12, 2010

I have a large amount of btn's that load full size images when clicked. I simply want to add a filter, scaleX and scaleY to each of those buttons and I know there is a better method then typing each btn name with an eventListener for the Mouse_Over and Mouse_Out events. I understand that I need to create a variable of a new filter and then apply it to the display object. Like so..

var glow:GlowFilter = new GlowFilter(0x0066FF, 1, 10, 10);function hover(event:MouseEvent):void{ pic1_btn.filter = new Array(glow); pic1_btn.scaleX = 1.02; pic1_btn.scaleY = 1.02;}pic1_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, hover);[code].....

So if I were to continue this, I would have to type out pic1_btn, pic2_btn, pic3_btn and so on to apply a filter to each object and also type out the object name for each listener.

Flex :: Refresh - Applying The Sort/filter On An Arraycollection Without Dispatching Event?

Aug 3, 2011

I have a object that is extended from arraycollection. This object has to access and manipulate the arraycollections source object. When this happens, the local sorted/filter copy of data goes out of sync with the source data. To line things up correctly, the sort/filter needs to be re-applied.

To do this normally, you would call refresh() on the arraycollection, but this also broadcasts a refresh event. What I want is to update the sort/filter without dispatching an event.Having looked into the ArrayCollection class, I can see it is extended from ListCollectionView. The refresh function

public function refresh():Boolean
{
return internalRefresh(true);
}

is in ListCollectionView and it calls this function

private function internalRefresh(dispatch:Boolean):Boolean
{
if (sort || filterFunction != null)
{

[code]....

annoyingly, that function is private and so is unavailable to and class that extends ListCollectionView. Also, a lot of what is in the internalRefresh function is private too.Does anyone know of a way to call internalRefresh from a class that extends ArrayCollection? Or a way of stopping the refresh event from being dispatched when refresh is called?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Dynamic Text Does Not Work After Applying Function

Nov 23, 2006

In a mc is a dynamic textfield, trough as this textfield gets his content. The textfield works fine and also the html text displays/works as supposed. No problem at all. But now I put a rollOver/Out on this mc with the textfield, the text shows up allright, but the html doesnt work anymore (I mean the hyperlinks, the rest is okay)

Code:
textmc.textarea.html = true;
textmc.textarea.htmlText = "<a href='[URL]'>link here</a>"
textmc.onRollOver = function() {
trace("hover on textfield");
};
textmc.onRollOut = function() {
trace("going off textfield");
};
So the problem is the rollOn/Out, if I comment out those functions everything is okay...

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Applying CSS Styles To Dynamic Text

Aug 24, 2010

I'm very close to finishing the creation of a Flash Event Calendar app but I am having trouble with something I feel should be very easy. I'm adding text to a textbox dynamically based on how many events are on the selected day.

For some reason though the styles are only being applied to the last set of text being added. for example, if there are three events on a certain day, i will list the three events but only the 3rd event will have the styling. If there's 2 events that day, the 2nd event will have styling, if there's 10 events, the 10th event will have the styling. Why are they not all being styled and only the last one?
