and obviously before that, have it declare the variable, something like
Code:
if { current position = "home"
VARIABLEtoCurrentMovielip = "home_mc"
}
i just have no idea on the syntax. how do i access the current frame, namely the label? (ie how we have a layer that goes "Home" "About" etc) and then take that varaible and drop it in the transition manager string?
I simply want to assign a variable to the current frame of the main timeline (not movieclip timeline) I already know about _currentframe and it doesn't help in this case.
so i'm working on this actionscript for a crossfade slideshows, where images are triggered with buttons. i feel like i'm almost there, except for i'm stuck on the setting the currentPage variable.I work in flash 8, actionscript 2.0. the script is here:
how to do this effect.I have a movie instance named "sparkles_mov" as in internal movie, not loading externally.It's placed multiple times on the stage.I need an AS code for the first frame of the entire stage that makes all instances fade in at a specific frame number (5), last for XXX amount of seconds and then all of the instances to fade out at a specific frame number (70).Is this possible? I have all instances fading in using this AS code placed on the frame that they enter on but the fade out never works, the just abruptly disappear:
am a graphic artist trying to be a web designer and it's not working! I am constructing a website where I have a navigation menu nested within a movieclip. On each button click I want the current content to fade out and the new content to fade in. Content consists of new imagery and text. Now since I have these buttons nested within a MC I realize I'm unable to simply use simple gotoAndPlay because it will not be referencing the main timeline. Forgive my AS ignorance,
I have a movieclip called iconinterface_mc and inside of that movieclip I have another movieclip called smsinter_mc iv created a button inside smsinter_mc and I want the button to bring the user back to the iconinterface_mc.
Ive just spent 3 days scanning the whole Internet after this script (see below). Ive read maybe 100 topics on varios actionsscript forums but they all end the same.
- Unanswered or incomplete.
- Now, Im just a poor web designer without no fanzy as-skills and without money.
- All I could offer you in return if you could help me out, except the sweeeeet feeling of solving a huge problem to millions of poor web designers, is helping you with a logo or something.
The visitor clicks on a link that starts to load a external swf.The swf loads behind the current content, showing the preloading process with a loading bar och numbers or what ever.When the swf has preloaded it fades over (with alpha) the current content which creates a very smooth web experience.
I'm trying to create a simple page transition. Please ignore everything but the timer in red. Everything works flawlessly EXCEPT that after the transition is made the timer is not cleared with the clearInterval command. Is there something wrong with my if statement?
stop(); function loadPage() { _root.mcCover.gotoAndPlay(2);[code]....
I have an HTML button that I need to dynamically assign to an AS3 variable when clicked (in order to load an .mp3). I am using externalInterface.call to collect javascript variables - I am just unsure how to change these dynamically when a button is clicked.
i am trying to hade in and fade out on the sertain frame. but i just can't figure out what's the problem.
ActionScript Code: var soundFadeInTimer:Timer = new Timer(100,50); soundFadeInTimer.addEventListener("timer", soundFadeIn); var fadeInIncr = 5; function soundFadeIn(e:TimerEvent){ [Code]...
I have setup some nav buttons on my website. When I click one of the buttons, I want the current page to fade out, and I don't want the other page fading in until the first one is gone. This means I need a statement to go along with each button so that they all get rid of the current page, and don't fade in their respective pages until the first one is gone. Here is my current code:
I have four movie clips (.f4v) in 4 frames in a movie with watch buttons.. This movie has them been imported into a main movie container that has next and previous buttons. However if i play a movie then hit next frame, the movie continues to play in the background. The code below shows one of the actionscripts for a movie clip and then the main actionscript in the main movie.[code]...
I have tried this a dozen different ways and I really am at my wits end.
I have a presentation that works like a powerpoint. Everything is working as it should, except one part. I have a movie clip with an instance named slides, and I want to actively display which frame number you are in this move clip.
I have tried more than one why but I see no reason why this should not work:
var frameNum:Number = this.slides.currentFrame; this.frameText.text = "Pquina " + frameNum + " de 173";
It appears to work at first, but does not update when I navigate the slides. It constantly says 1. Before I just added a function to the back and next buttons to frameNum++ and frameNum--, but after I created the Menu I would prefer it to automatically detect what frame it is on.
I created an input text box. But when i try to go and click on the "variable" option to assign a variable i get this error: "This feature is not supported by ActionScript 3.0. To use this feature, you must target ActionScript 1.0-2.0." How can i do that? By the way, the variable textbox where you need to enter the variable name is gray. I can't write in it. I'm using flash CS4.
I wanted to make a little quiz kind of game, 4 choices and a sum randomly displayed.And i wanted to assign each time a random choice (to contain the answer) and i've done that, and can trace that 'rightChoiceBox' = _choice(random num)and i can trace the answer itself but what i've commented at the end won't work I get the error
Scene 1, Layer 'Layer 1', Frame 5, Line 221119: Access of possibly undefined property text through a reference with static type String[code]...
What I want to do is load an XML file into AS3 and then use two of the attributes of a node in order to assign them to variables. Here is what I have so far:[code]As you can see, I've got it to a point where I can trace the variables in the function correctly. But, as I'm sure you're all aware, I am unable to use those variables anywhere outside of the processXML function.
I'm working on a project using google maps. For part of it the user must enter coordinates and click a button in order to add a marker to a map. The code I have written so far allows this to be done once:
play_btn2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, submitdata); function submitdata(e:Event){ var marker9:Marker = new Marker(
[code]....
As it is the only one marker can be added as it keeps getting replaced. I want to make it so that the variable name changes each time a marker is to be added.
I'm in the process of building a thumbnail image gallery using actionscript and xml. I have an array in flash that loads in the XML data and then assigns each node from the array to either a movieclip, dynamic text field, etc. My problem lies in trying to assign a variable (in flash) to the value of my URL from XML, which in theory should simply grab the URL string from my XML file. Keep in mind, everything works fine except for assigning a string value from xml to my variable "linkVar" in Flash. Please pay close attention to "linkVar" in the code that follows.
ActionScript Code: XML <images> <pic> <image>images/flower.jpg</image>
I used Digitalosophy's tute to create my Flash form using ASP to write to an Access DB with 1 deviation. In addition to 5 text inputs I used a Flash component list box. It is the only element that is passing empty data to the DB. I have both label & data fields filled out and I am using the following AS on the submit button
I am guessing I need to use AS to assign a variable to the list box component as it only has an instance name field, unlike the dynamic text fields. Not having any luck googling the correct syntax though as most examples are of querying a data base not writing.
I've set up a multi-lingual fla now where you select your language with a button on the first frame and that loads in the equivalent xml file. Now Later in my swf I'm trying to load in another swf with loadMovie but I'd like to assign conditional statements to determine what xml is loaded.for code thus far I have
//first frame var myXML:XML = new XML(); myXML.ignoreWhite = true; loadXMLfunc.onLoad = function(ok:Boolean):Void {
When I assign the variablename to an inputbox an array variable i.e. myArray[3], flash does not recognize it as an array O.o it recognizes it as a string with the variable name myArray[3].
I have a hundred instance of a movie clip on the stage. I would like to use "myVar" to store the name of the instance that the mouse is currently hovering over, so the function will run for that instance.
how to dynamically assign the instance name to myVar on MOUSE_OVER?
I want to use mutliple images in my flash script and instead of writing tons of code I want to get the 'currentTarget' and assign a variable name to it so I can tweenlite it . Instead of me naming all the instances i thought the following would work but it doesn't.
wedding.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, pan_over) ; function pan_over(e:MouseEvent):void{ var ct:string = Event.currentTarget.name ;
