ActionScript 3.0 :: Attach TextBox To Midpoint Between Two Points
Dec 1, 2009
I have 2 points you can drag. A draw a line between them. I have a textbox that displays the distance between the 2 points. How can I have the textbox "attach" itself to the midpoint of the line and stay there as the points are dragged? A file is attached and you can see it here [URL].
PHP Code:
var item:MovieClip;
var dragOffsetX:int;
var dragOffsetY:int;
var itemOffsetXY:int;
//add event listeners to all dots
[Code] .....

I want to map pictures on 3D objects, and I want to know if I can with actionscript "attach" the 4 corners of a picture on 4 points, and then move them... I want to make cubicVR panoramas... Perhaps, anybody have another idea to make cubicVR or to mp pictures on 3D object...
Each time I click the "fold_btn" I need to be able to add 10 points and display it in a text box (rot1_txt). Code: on (press) { _root.rot1_txt = 0; _root.rot1_txt = _root.rot1_txt + 10; } Not working!
I'm trying to make a plasma fractal (as a self-challenge, I made the sierpinski triangle, Koch snowflake, Mandelbrot set, Julia set, and dragon fractal. If you want the code, PM/reply.) Here's the code of frame 1:
I have been tasked with trying to create a drawing tool that draws dotted lines as you drag the mouse across the stage. I can easily capture the points on MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE and store them in a vector and then draw the points as dots:
The problem is that I need to calculate evenly distributed points on an ever growing Vector of points so I can only draw the line between say every 5th point (say using modulus). I have been battling away with Bezier curve equations both Quadratic and Cubic but still can't quite figure out how to convert my Vector of points into an evenly distributed Vector of Points without sucking the life from the CPU.
how to eliminate previos attach before move to next attach MC..let say as u can see in my code..I just settign the interval..for 2 second..in other to attach the mc on eby one...so how to set up the code so that if the 2nd mc has attach it'll remove the 1st one attach for certain time...and so on..the scenario like this..
mc1 attach after 2 second mc2 attach --> remove mc1 after 2 second
basically sending and recieving variables from a php page. I want to be able to specify what my textbox on frame 5 says in the onLoad statement. Is this possible?
Currently the only way I have been able to get the text to display is either to use the textbox variable and declare that in the onload statement, or to put textbox.text = mylogin.message; on the actual frame.I doubt there is a way to do it, because the actual textbox hasn't be created yet, but if there were a way, that would be nice.

i am trying to do this After you type in textbox A (eg." HAHAHA")And when you pressed a button "submit_mc""HAHAHA" will appear in textbox B i know it involve strings , but i tried my best but i cant figure out
i'm trying to figure out how to reset or refresh clips that are dynamically attached to another clip based on records returned through xml.asically if the user chooses a different filter for the database query I need to be able to refresh a scrolling list made up of clips which will be different based on the filter.this is what I have for a function. I try to use "attachEmptyMovieClip" but to no avail
Code: getAll=function(){ members = getMembers.firstChild.childNodes;
I am trying to create a mindmap where the user can drag points about the screen. I have gotten as far as drawing the line via actionscript, and drag+drop the points (defined as movie clips on stage). This is the existing script - I don't know how to get the lines to follow the points. Something to do with ENTER_FRAME or updateAfterEvent?
var line:MovieClip = new MovieClip(); line.graphics.lineStyle(1,1); line.graphics.moveTo(ptOne.x,ptOne.y);
I was wondering if there's a way to attach objects to one another. Basically, for a flash animation, I have a monkey swinging back and forth on a branch. The transformation point is set at his hand on the branch, while his arm swings back and forth like a pendulum. His body is at the bottom of this pendulum, and right now I have to reset the body as his arm swings.
How do I attach the body to the bottom of his arm to its own pivot point so that they're always attached to each other, but so that the body always is in the SAME POSITION (i.e., when you rotate the arm, it does not also rotate the body).
I am following a good tutorial here:URl...And it uses the following example file to display an embedded FLV movie:URL...I am having a problem editing the cue points. If I open the compenent inspector for the FLVPlayback, and then open the cuePoints dialog, I should be able to add, remove, or modify cue points. However, I can't edit anything in the dialog at all. It seems locked.The tutorial clearly states you should be able to edit the points.
[URL]In the tutorial, it says I should be able to edit cue points for the FLV video. I open the component inspector and the cuePoints dialog. All the cue points are listed, but it won't let me edit them. They seem ti be locked. I need to be able to edit cuepoints within flash for a linked flv file.

I am SUPER confused on how to make use of the cue point that I embedded in my FLV.It is called "END", is at time 00:00:46.114 and is Event type.How do I go about calling an action, say loader.loadMovie("info.swf), when the movie reaches that point?
am using Flash CS3 Professional and I have a Flash ActionScript 2.0 .fla file, my problem is that I have 2 symbols, on can be controlled by a simple script using arrow keys and the other is stationary but I want to attach the stationary one to the other so that it can pivot on this connection and will move with and pivot like a tail as it moves around the screen
This file has been supposedly changed from As2 to As3. It seems as if it used to stop when I first got it. But the links didn't work. When I followed troubleshooting protocols, it started looping non-stop.
Please help. I can't seem to attach the flv and the action script files. All I get from the output window is "Fonts should be embedded for any text that may be edited at runtime, other than text with the "Use Device Fonts" setting. Use the Text > Font Embedding command to embed fonts."
is it possible to attach the same movieclip twice?for example i have two buttons and both attack Main_Page however when i test the flash and error reads "Duplicate function definition"is there a way of attaching the same movieclip more than once? im using this code to attach the movie but when i add this code twice on two buttons duplicate error shows:
s_next.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, attachMovieclip); function attachMovieclip(event:MouseEvent):void {var addPage1:Page1 = new Page1();addPage1.x= 0 addPage1.y= 0addChild(addPage1); }
