Jun 8, 2010I am trying to build a flash that auto-adjust its size to the browser window size, while leaving the content of the flash itself top-centered in the screen.I have found this solution [URL].. on How to keep centered stuff in this exact case so i am pretty confident i will be able to adjust that script to do what i want.
Now my problem is that if i put my content inside the movie-clip (centerrectangle) with all the animation require, link and other stuff, the movieclip (center rectangle ) never have the exact same center, thus making the script go wild trying to always adjust the location to the variable size of the movie clip.

Jun 22, 2009I've been through all the tutorials on flash scaling and stage resizing and can't figure this one out. I have an MC in _y proportion to the Stage.height-40, so when resizing the browser I should always be able to see it.
The Problem: I know how to do this; by publishing the movie at 100% width and height - this works fine. But my flash movie is a magazine which is long, and requires scrolling in the browser to see the content.
As soon as I set the movie to publish width/height at 100% I can no longer scroll my flash magazine in the browser.
Is there a way to readjust the MC _y position as the user scrolls up and down; so the MC is always in view. So it'd look similiar to those pesky ads that follows you as you scroll away.

Mar 11, 2009I have a website and it is set to 100% of the browser window. Everything in the browser is left aligned. I have a script that when u has an event listener on the RESIZE so that everything will be centered when u adjust the window. What my problem is that right when the page loads the swf is left aligned. I want the stuff to be already centered but the only way to do that is to adjust the browser window. Heres my site: My Example Watch that when it loads its all to the left. Resize the browser and everything will snap to the middle.

Apr 21, 2011I am trying to create a flash website, my document size is 1024 X 766 pixels. My goal- when I publish it and view it in the browser, when I resize the browser window I DO NOT WANT the website to scale up/down accordingly.At the moment my flash website is scaling according to the resizing of the browser window which is causing awful aliasing to my logo (jagged edges).The logo is 250 x 50 and I don't want the logo to change size while resizing the browser window. And at the moment the logo is growing or shrinking when changing the browser window.

The user can at first drag the movie clip. When released, the duplicateMovieClip command runs, leaving a new ham movie clip in the position the first is dragged to.When I click and drag the first ham movie click again, the duplicateMovieClip runs again but REPLACES the previous generated movie clip. I added x and x++ in an attempt to give the movie clip duplication a different name every time, but this doesn't solve it.How do I change this code so that a NEW ham_mc is created every time, rather than overwriting the old one.

Jan 17, 2006 I have a PHP mailer form on my site which needs to be published in action script2 to work, but I also have a script set up to open browser windows of a certain size & location which needs actionscript 1 to work? The PHP mailer form has a "Name" field, "Email" field & "Message" field, theses can all be reset with a button. The button clears off any text in the 3 boxes to wipe them clean. The script on the reset button is:

This works fine with section script 2 but not with as1. Does anyone know of a script that resets the .text field on as1 Alternatively is there any way of opening browser windows from a flash movie with browser win controls, eg. centre win, no scrollbars.

Flash :: Movie Doesn't Auto-Play?
May 29, 2009When I export my flash movie to be hosted then embed it on my site (myspace) the flash banner(no controls) doesn't AutoPlay. I checked and unchecked Paused at Start in the publish settings, published and exported, but both times when I hover/click on the blank/unloaded movie the menu shows the Play option unchecked. My file has a preloader and the movie/content starts on frame 2. I have CS4/AS3.have the movie autopaly on it own. (I wish Adobe would have named the option Autoplay instead of Paused at Start,I wonder who came up with that).Here's my code:

Jun 22, 2006Using LoadVars.send() I insert info into a mysql database.I then click a button and the updated db content is shown in a textfield. Problem is that a HTML file is auto-opened in the browser.
When using LoadVars.sendAndLoad() I can still insert info into the database, but I can NOT update the info in the textfield. For some reason the "old" db content is loaded again.Flash and PHP files are in same folder on server.

Dec 21, 2008I was wondering if anyone knew how to hide the skin in the flvplayback component on ROLL_OUT. SkinAutoHide seems to work whenever it feels like it and sometimes the button controls just stay over the video. This happens in Safari and IE I believe. I am used Actionscipt 3.0OR does anyone know how to get to the display list of the component, where all the names to all the buttons (and skin) is housed, using the instance names from the component fla file does not work. I looked at the documentation and the names of all the button sprites are there, but i need the name of the background that the buttons sit on top of.

MX Flash Movie Lagging Browser
Jul 14, 2009I'm using Flash MX, but these movies might have been saved for Flash 4 (what I used to use). I'm using IE and I have tested on other browsers and it seams to have the same problem. I have two small flash movies playing as part of my site design but when I scroll, this clearly lag creating a 'white box' where the movies should be until they move. I'm pretty sure the lag is with them two movie clips. My site is at [URL] (it's on the main site that I have the lag). They are Flash 4 Swfs.

Mar 30, 2011Anyway, I have a 2037px wide flash movie that I purposely made that wide so that it would take up just about any screen.
What I'm trying to do is simply center it and basically hide the overflow on smaller screens when the movie appears on the end user's monitor. I can't get it to center, however, as it always just wants to align to the left. I don't want to use the 100% feature because that distorts the movie.
I've tried using the "overflow: hidden; text-align: center;" CSS feature, to no avail. Is there a way in CSS to make this work? Do I need to use javascript or something? If so, which script do I use?

Dec 17, 2007I'm having a hard time setting up my website page to center (vertical and horizontal) my flash movie in a browser. I was finally able to get it to fit screen no matter what resolution, but it looks more to me like it's aligning itself top/left.
