1. the placeholder movie clip automatically tweens to adjust to the image's dimensions.
2. the transition between each image is a la: [URL] -- front page when you enter
3. the images stay on the screen for approx. 5 seconds each.
I'm pretty new to Flash but working it out. Just one question: how does one make it so the Flash animation automatically resizes depending on the resolution of the user's screen? I made a site with a Flash video that looks perfect on my screen, but when my friend with a different resolution goes to it, evertyhing is out of whack..

I have this piece of code to change images. I was trying to figure out how you could put a timer on the code, so if the image has been displayed for say 5 seconds it diverts to the next image automatically? Also if it's not to hard, when it has played to the end to divert to the 1st image.

The one things no-one has mentioned in all of the posts, is how you might be able to customise the border.I see where it is written in the code, but what I really need to do is create a scribbly line rather than a straight one. It seems best to create mc and then have this re-size and stretch as the images re-size.

1) Gallery menu is fed by the XML doc and not hardcoded in Flash.
2) Next and Previous buttons (in addition to the thumbnail buttons)
3) Icing on the cake: "Slideshow" button that loops through the chosen gallery thumbnails. Probably needs to be a toggle button to stop the loop too.
I'm working on an xml driven flash website where clients can modify an xml file directly to change the appearance of the site (eventually i'll make a flash/php dashboard GUI). The site will have listings each with a photo.I'm trying to find a way around having the clients have to crop images to thumbnail and enlarged view size themselves. In other words the images would be displayed scaled to fit within a movie clip.

I know how to use the Event.RESIZE function to make my image proportional with the browser using stage.stageWidth/Height, but I am trying to figure out a way to have a movieclip or image scale up or down to a certain dimension such as on browser resize the image max would be 640x480 and the minimum being 320x240.

View 5 RepliesI am using the fla's that were posted on [URL] regarding the image gallery where the box scales and resizes depending on what it loads(using XML) within it. The boxe's top left stays static which is the goal and the rest resizes according to what loads. Now inside the actionscript it has spacing of 10 which puts space around the bottom and right sides of the image that is loaded but does not put spacing on the left and top. I m trying to get the space so it is on the top and left also, basically so the image loaded is centered within the border. To clarify more simply I just want a even border around the images that it loads. Here is a link to the files being used: [URL] Also for some reason when I tried testing to download the .fla myself from the above link it loaded a page with a whole lot of characters.
View 14 Repliesive been using this tutorial [URL] after following the tutorial everything works except when I have an image that is not on all frames, the fluid layout doesnt work on that image until I resize the browser again after I have gone to that frame, which obviously isnt quite right.

View 1 RepliesI've spent the past few days having a look for this and no luck so far. Basically I have got a multi-page XML gallery with thumbnails. At the moment the images in the gallery stay their original size. I want to make it so that a) the image takes up the entire page of the browser/stage, and b) the image resizes as the browser does, which I suppose might be in the publish settings.
So my question is how can I size this image so it takes up the entire stage? I've tried fiddling around with Stage.width and Stage.height but no luck so far.

Attached is my .fla, the actionscript code is all within a key frame inside gallery_mc.
This works just fine when viewing the content at it's published width and height, but when you resize the stage to any thing else the focus point of the 3d camera dos not adjust to the center of the content or stage making the content skew in a off perspective way. I know that this is due to the 3d camera staying in the same x and y even though the sprite has moved. where is the camera and how do I move it?[code]...

But anyway, I was assigned to make a header that has a glowing star that flies in and becomes part of the logo. So i've done that and it looks decent. I made it just like an animation, working with individual frames, not tweens or anything like that (vocab I just learned).I need to resize it as a whole to 500 x 90 and I also need it to linger on the last frame (the completed logo) for about 10 seconds, then have the star shoot in again.
View 1 RepliesI am creating a website where the entire background is tiled and it also contains a photo gallery. Now, the photo gallery has to only appear within a limited height but the width could be similar to the browser window. (The website will be a full browser website with a capability of going fullscreen.). I tried a lot of things but the stage calculation requires to be a little different than the general stage properties.
In general, the height and width of the image is directly proportional to those of the stage. But what I am looking at is for the image to be rescaled proportionally to the width of the stage but the height nneds to be about 20-30% less than the height of the actual stage. Basically the background will be visible in that 20-30% of empty space. (And of course other elements)
My scaling of the image code looks like following,

I am using the DataGrid component in Flash, that is loaded with data via a external XML file. I have a column, A (Serial), which once loaded, I'd like for the information to be sorted Ascendingly, automatically.

I'm having a bit of a problem here. As per the title, my flash swf file works fine when tested from the IDE, but when I publish it and open it through the browser, the stage doesn't seem to resize along with the window.I post below a bare-bones example. The "back" movie clip should resize, only it remains at the starting dimensions

I've been through all the tutorials on flash scaling and stage resizing and can't figure this one out. I have an MC in _y proportion to the Stage.height-40, so when resizing the browser I should always be able to see it.
The Problem: I know how to do this; by publishing the movie at 100% width and height - this works fine. But my flash movie is a magazine which is long, and requires scrolling in the browser to see the content.
As soon as I set the movie to publish width/height at 100% I can no longer scroll my flash magazine in the browser.
Is there a way to readjust the MC _y position as the user scrolls up and down; so the MC is always in view. So it'd look similiar to those pesky ads that follows you as you scroll away.

I have an item renderer tied to an mx:DataGrid column. The renderer used to be inline with the column, but I've moved it out to its own file so I can reuse it across multiple tables.
The problem is that now the renderer doesn't resize (grow/shrink) when the column is resized. So if the user makes the column very small, the contents displayed by the renderer just eat up space and show up over top other columns

Best way to auto adjust flash movie in internet browser?
View 3 RepliesI have a website and it is set to 100% of the browser window. Everything in the browser is left aligned. I have a script that when u has an event listener on the RESIZE so that everything will be centered when u adjust the window. What my problem is that right when the page loads the swf is left aligned. I want the stuff to be already centered but the only way to do that is to adjust the browser window. Heres my site: My Example Watch that when it loads its all to the left. Resize the browser and everything will snap to the middle.
