I built a banner ad which works fine when I test it in flash. I then put it inside another flash movie in which it is loaded as an external swf ,my portfolio, and it it loads and only runs the 1st line of code animation and I can see the text that is waiting (outside the visual dimensions of the banner) I am also getting this error....what is going on?

I recently purchased a scrollbar from the exchange marketplace and it works beautifully within it's own swf but as soon as I load it into a second swf (the main "start movie") it doesn't work. When I click on it to scroll, the tracker sticks to my pointer (like a mouse follower) and won't release until I click on a button leading me into another movie. The scrollbar component came with an external caurina file which is where I think the issue is coming from. I think it's having trouble finding the associated code when inside the second movie. I've tried all sorts of parent vs root scripts to try and get it to jump a level to recognize the source of the original code.

I'm currently working on a flash site, which consists of a "Main" SWF file that has buttons to load external SWF files. I figured out how to make the external SWF files show on its own layer below other layers on the main time line of the Main SWF. I created a blank movie clip file on it's own layer of the main time line and used this to call out to it:This worked perfectly. The website so far works perfectly with each page of the website being an externally loaded SWF. The problem I came across today though, is that buttons and text fields within the external SWF files don't work when they are loaded onto the "Main" SWF. They only work when I open the external SWF files individually. I really need to figure out how to make buttons and the text fields within the external SWF files when loaded onto the "MAIN" SWF.
I first came across this problem when I tried adding a form that I created to one of the external SWF files called guestlist_page_swf.swf. The form works on its own when I open that SWF individually, but when I try to load that SWF file with the form as a page on my "Main" SWF, the mouse doesn't even recognize that the submit button is a button, and it doesn't allow me to click on the text fields. the swf that I am loading has a button in it that when I click on it, it will print the screen and it will email it to an email address.Everything works perfectly fine if I use the application(swf) on its own.however, I created a swf file that will load the above swf file in it when a button is clicked. the loading part is fine and it works as it should be. but the button for printing the screen stops working once the swf has been loaded!

I have a weird problem,Flash banner is working "clickable" if the page url have preceding "www" and not working if not,So the if the URL in the address bar was [url]... the banner will be clickable and will redirect you to the link embedded in it, if the URL was [url]... the flash banner will not be working.
View 1 Repliesi have created some flash banners with a url embedded in them, so when they are placed on a web page the banner links through to my website when clicked. Fairly simple.But, i tested them on a website on my server to link to another website on the server and they worked fine. When i gave them to a client to embed on their own website (the flash files are hosted on my server still), the links no longer work.
Is this a security issue to stop the links working? i also checked it in linux and the banners worked, but in windows they do not. I dont want the client to have their own local copy of the flash file, as i may update it in the future and dont want to chase up lots of different copies everywhere.

I am a graphic designer. I do not work with flash too much. I recently make a flash banner for my client but had a problem with linking the flash file to the url. I know actionscript 3.0 little.I used a movieclip (instance name: link_handler) over all content and set alpha to zero. View 4 RepliesWe have a Flash banner on the home page and each slide has a link to some other page. Everything works fine, exept in IE.
Basically what happens is that if you click on the banner the first time, the link will work fine and bring you to the new page. However, if you go back to the home page again, then the banner does not even present a link anymore (it will still work fine as far as the banner rotation is concerned - just no more links)..
I'm trying create an expandable banner that when expands plays a video that has play, pause, mute buttons and a seek bar.
I've successfully created the video player and converted it to a symbol and it works when I copy it into other flash files so I know it's the banner that troublesome.
The problem is when I use it in the expanded part of the expandable banner I can't click on any of the buttons. I can see it's working as the video is playing and the seeker bar is moving. It's almost as if there's an invisible button over the top (the hand icon is visible) stopping me from hitting the buttons of the player.
The code for the expanding banner is very simple (see below)

Ok so we have a website at www. wsca .ie. This website has a flash banner along the bottom of the page but our problem is we have installed flash on our clients pc and updated his internet explorer but still the flash banner doesnt display. Also we have checked to make sure flash is enabled and it is so is there anything else we can do to get this to work?

View 1 RepliesI have a "photo" gallery that loads numerous SWFs through xml, one by one on click. All works fine. All my SWF work fine stand alone. But when I load them into the player, many swf dont work properly.in example, I have textinput textfields in many of the swfs, which work fine on their own but not when loaded into the player. Then I have a word search game that works fine when alone, not when in player. I can see there is something as my mouse cursor changes into the "button finger", but nothing visual.
All drag and drop assigments work fine etc. I have no idea whats up. I have receantly switched to as3 and in as2 there was _lockroot declaration that solved similar problems, but now in as3 (where it supposedly should be automatic) it doesnt work. As it seems that it cannot recognise it own stage value, or selection_focus when loadedinside another swf through xml.Using cs4, as3.

I am building a banner ad and I am using Flash CS4. I need it so when someone clicks the banner it takes them to the page in a new window. Its just a a simple URL and I keep getting syntax errors now and I dont know how to do this properly. I have tried these methods.

[URL]I have: main.swf (a menu) and I have module.swf (content)If you navigate to Subsea Wellhead Systems/SS-15 BigBore II and click on that I have it load an external swf which covers most of the parent. So far so good. My problem is unloading the loaded 'Child' swf with the button provided on the loaded 'Child' swf.below is the code I used to load the file but I cant, for the life of me, find a way to unload it.

I spent almost a week trying to figure out how to unload a currently loaded swf using its button and loading a new swf... I have three files, a main.fla, file1.fla and file2.fla. In my main.fla, I have a code which loads the other two files. If i will click the "unload" button in the file1.swf, I would like the main.fla to unload the file1.swf and load the other file, file2.swf. Here is the code to load the file1.swf:

I want to populate an external loaded swf with an dynamicly loaded xml fil (loaded from my config.xml).

how do I get the external xml into the external swf as a variable for the actionscript in the external loaded swf (So I just want to put the path in the script in my external swf...).
I have a homepage with five "links" to each swf. Now the first swf I have a custom cursor that hides the mouse. When I click on that link it plays and when I quickly go to the homepage again it hides the mouse there when it's not supposed to do it.
Same with every other link. When I was busy with the first swf and want to go to the last swf of the five, my mouse just disappears! It is almost as if it keeps on "playing" without seeing the swf...
