ActionScript 3.0 :: Making A Flash Banner With External Images?

Anyway what I need is a banner (or galleri) which pulls in external images. But i want it to be able to automatically get new images which I put in the folder.Also i want to be able to position this, since im going to make a banner/menu combo ( I can post an image of the concept if actually i have a link to the site where im want to use itI want to position the the banner in between the graphic to the left and right and I also want to position the menu on top of the banner.I've read some tutorials where you use a placeholder which i guess is what i'm supposed to do here.

I am making a project to pull the external images, but this total bad one, what I would like to know is, I make to pull 5 external images showing one loading before show the images, I only start to show the images when all the images already will be pulled. Somebody knows as to make? or some tutorial one?

I'm making a piece of flash used for a website banner, previously i've had very little experience with action scipt as i've made various animations only having to use simple functions such as "stop()" and i've made a never ending scrolling menu also, but now i want to have an event that "onPress" a small animation is played where the mouse clicked the banner. What would be the appropriate script to link the .swf i make to the "onPress" command? or what is the right command in general assuming it is that command

I have to produce a Flash banner advert for my company. The specs are Flash 8, up to 30kb.My company wants highest possible resolutions and smooth animations, but no matter what i do, either I have to lower the resolutions of my images or have to make the advert more static, none of which my company is happy about!I save images to the right size so i don't scale them in FlashI open each of the bitmaps and change their quality individuallyI clicked the compress movie buttonI optimised all the shapes that are in the filmI made sure all the objects used more than once or animated are movieclipsI used SWF optimiser but it didn't make any difference.

I have got stuck on what seems to be a very simple task. I have an animated flash banner for the website, but I cannot make it clickable, so that visitors can click on any part of it, and be tranfered to another website page. I am quite new to Adobe Flash, I use CS4 to edit. I have tried making transparent rectangles,converting them to a Button type, inserting various codes, but all that I tried has no effect

I created a banner with 9 in and out fading pictures. Also the navigation buttons are located in this banner. When I click on the navigation buttons in the banner and the next page is loaded, the banner starts playing at picture 1 again. Same goes for the navigation outside the banner. Is it possible to make the banner continue when you go to the nexte page? So when I click on a button while picture nmbr3 is showing and I get the next page it still is on picture nmbr 3 and not starting at picture nmbr 1 again.

I'm trying to make a web banner and I want it to double in size once it's rolled over. An example of this I've found is GC watch banner on the menshealth.co.uk website (its the long ad on the far right of the screen, keep refreshing if it doesnt come up straight away).
how to do this as dimensions of the banner which are selected at the begin of making the flash doc are what changes.

The itself is working like a dream, but now I want it to be more userfriendly. I want the banner to check if ex. the var from the query string "hojde" exist if so then pt this value in the text field for "hojde". If it doesn't exist then set a standard value of 100. For now I've worked only on the "hojde" var, so that's where you should look

i'm making a preloader for my banner rotator, but the reason to be here writing this post is to ask for help to fix a bug in my preloader, for example: When I click on a button to change the image while the preloader is counting it simply starts counting the the bytesLoaded of old image + the new image(bytes) of the button I've clicked. Then the percentage goes over the 100% ... I didn't want to disable the button, I know is possible in some way but I am not finding success.

Is there a cross-browser solution available to give a flash banner an html link, without putting it into the flash itself? (i.e. the Flash has no clickable button in it). I tried giving the surrounding anchor tag a high z-index, but that did not work. I'm using the standard google swfobject to include the flash banner, but am not stuck on using that.

I am doing an animation for a web site with Flash CS3. I need to make images (.jpg) that I converted in graphic symbols, to pass along the screen continuously. I know, for many of you this must be very basic question, but I don't know how to solve it. My problem is that the images vibrate so much making the animation to look bad.

I have two copies of an image (one called blurPic_mc & one called sharpPic_mc) and I want to be able to move both of them around the screen togethe I need them to stay exactly on top of each other for some other functions I am running but right now the only one that moves is the top one (sharpPic_mc).I included my code below.

how I can have my swf fill the entire browser (as in publish settings 100% w & h etc) but not stretch/distort the text and images in the swf.
There is a site [URL] that does this. It fills the whole screen yet when you resize, the objects do not become distorted.
I may have the wrong approach with publish settings width & height 100%??

I have a fla file template and the example sequence swf but the template only show a few of the images in the finshed preview even though all the images are present 12 bitmaps and 12 symbols.see why the images are not moving in the Banner .

I built a quick and dirty site header banner, with text masking a scrolling background of several images. The text is the mask, so the images show up inside the text. Viewing it works in Flash CS3, but when I publish it, I see the images scrolling from right to left, but they are not masked.

I am trying to load an external swf (Banner Rotator) to an existing swf (website).My problem is that the banner rotator I am trying to add totally changes the display of my site which I had coded to resize to browsers and remain central.Here is the live website before I have added the Banner Rotator: URL...and this is what happens to it after I add the code:my website.This is the code I used to load the external swf, it is within a an MC within an MC on the stage:[code]I am utterly confused as to how to sort this out, and am getting very close to my deadline (2 days away!).

I built a banner ad which works fine when I test it in flash. I then put it inside another flash movie in which it is loaded as an external swf ,my portfolio, and it it loads and only runs the 1st line of code animation and I can see the text that is waiting (outside the visual dimensions of the banner) I am also getting this error....what is going on?

I previously had all those images in the library. They were attached to a father clip with attachMovie(), and next they were placed and resized somewhere on the stage. Everything was correct.So, in order to create a lighter SWF, I decided to do external loads. I need these clips to be resized and placed once they're on the stage. I thought loadMovie() wouldn't be a good option because the resize would happen before the clips were loaded, and so they wouldn't be resized. So I thought of using the MovieClipLoader class, with its loadClip() method in order to load every image into empty movie clips, and perform the resize inside the onLoadComplete event handler.

I'm using the Loader class in AS3.0 to load external images. I need to load a random image each time and I'm using a timer to load a new image after 5 seconds or so. When I load the first image,

The problem is that my fading routine does not work. One image loads, and the next one appears straight away when it is finished loading.
My code feels like a bit of a hack...is there a nicer way that actually works...?

I'm making a highscore table in flash using AS3, I have successfully got working code that displays the names and the scores but also part of my high score table it needs to display the users country flag. The images for the flags are stored on a remote server.
Now I know how to load in a single image and add it to my movie clip but things get very complicated when I want to load in 20+ by iterating through a loop. I've looked at many examples and just cant adopt the sample code to work for me. Anyway without a further a do here is what I have so far.
