ActionScript 3.0 :: BitmapData Color Replacing Within A Range?

Jun 15, 2009

I'm trying to replace a range of colours programmatically - I have sprites for a game that have parts of them in shades of magenta specifically so they can be recoloured to show their team colour (blue,red,etc).I've been able to use BitmapData.threshold() to replace a single specific colour with another. What I need to be able to do though is set some sort of range of colours and appropriately shade them blue/green/red while keeping their relative light/dark shades.Here's what I've used to do a single colour:

Code:
var thisBitmap:Bitmap = MySpriteBitmap; //source bitmap
var colouredBitmapData:BitmapData = new BitmapData(thisBitmap.bitmapData.width,

ActionScript 2.0 :: (Flash 8) Replacing Color Fill In Movieclips?

Oct 20, 2006

I have another small question regarding dynamic color in movieclips. Essentially, I am looking for a way to find a color within a movieclip (like #999999 in the below sample) and replace that color with something else (like #ffd223).

But, I want the stroke around the circle to remain untouched. So, the script would only find a certain fill, and color only that area.

I tinkered with the beginFill method but couldn't get it working.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Dragging Within Range Of An Object And Indicating Proximity With Color?

I need to have a color key that changes color in relation to how close/far the user drags a movie clip from the correct area. For example, if I have a circle_mc and want the user to drag it within a bounded area (trapezoid in this case), as the dragged mc gets closer to the correct area (a circle perhaps) the color of the color key box changes along a continuum from red (wrong/far) toward green (correct/close)

Flex :: Changing Spark TextArea Text Color Dynamically Over A Range Of Characters?

Dec 22, 2010

I am attempting to dynamically change the color of a subset/portion of text in a Spark TextArea control. Using the MX-based TextArea, I could leverage the mx.controls.textClasses.TextRange type and change the color directly as follows:

TextRange tr = new TextRange(theTextAreaControl, false, beginIndex, endIndex);
 tr.color = somePredefindColor;

Input Parameters to TextRange constructor:

1st argument: The TextArea control that will provide access to the underlying textField property
2nd argument: Indicates the TextRange will not modify the content of the TextArea
3rd argument: The beginning index position in the TextArea text string
4th argument: The ending index position in the TextArea text string

How would I go about doing this for a Spark-based TextArea control? I am looking to dynamically change the font color for a range of text, not just the entire TextArea AND I cannot statically specify the font color. The problem I run into when trying to re-use the TextRange type is that the 1st argument is expected to provide the textField property, which is currently not on the Spark-based TextArea control. I thought about extending the Spark-based TextArea control to provide this accessor property but that seems like overkill and is probably not the best approach.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Change A Color To Another In A BitmapData Image?

Nov 10, 2011

Let's say you have an image of a cartoon human that is wearing a blue jacket with white sleeves, blue shoes, and grey pants. Brown hair and biege skin tone.(My project actually has 1300 of these images - 325 are blue cloths, 325 are red cloths, 325 are green cloths, and 325 are purple cloths)I am having a major problem with file size and memory usage due to all the images, so I have been asked to see if there was a way I could programmatically change the clothing color... this way we can use any color we want, and only have 325 base images.I have been trying to play with color matrix filter and color transform, but I can't seem to get the hang of itIs there a way I can extract only the "blue" colors from the image and do a hue shift on it to the color that I want it to be without effecting the non-blue colors

Actionscript 3 :: Removing Pixels Of One Color From A Bitmapdata?

Feb 24, 2012

I have a map (map of a mall, top view) with some colors. I´m removing the part for walking of the map, which has a type of color (say 0xcccccc).

I got all the 0xcccccc color pixels removed (setted to another color), but it seems to remain a bit of gray at the walking part.

The color of that bit it´s close to 0xcccccc. It looks like flash not succeeded while removing the walking part. But instead, leaved some parts (like borders or something) on the bitmapdata.

I´ve tried to remove by script, by picking the colors remained on the bitmap, but the loop doesn´t find these colors.

btw, first I used assigned thumbContainer as the mc argument (outside the loadThumbs() function) and it worked but not exactly what I wanted... because I thought it is supposed to update when the movieclip is animated but it actually didn't... when I use a scroller, only the thumbs that are first loaded to the stage get the reflection..

Actionscript 3 :: Quickly Rotate The Pixels That Make Up BitmapData Without Using BitmapData.draw()?

Dec 29, 2011

I've been using BitmapData.copyPixels() to draw graphics onto a canvas (Bitmap).I need to rotate the resulting graphics without the use of draw() because it's vastly slower.How can I rotate the target graphic? I'm assuming that there might be a formula or library that I can use which will first reorganize the pixels that make up a graphic based on an origin (point) and radians.I'm pretty certain that I'm not capable of creating such logic, so if there are any known libraries that do this, that would be awesome.I'd like to achieve something similar to XNA's SpriteBatch.Draw() method, which accepts rotation as its 5th argument.

Actionscript 3 :: Graphic Object BitMapData Type The Same As BitmapData Type?

Dec 29, 2009

The title might be a little misleading. Look at my code and I will explain

public static function loadTile(tileDir:String = "empty"):void
{
if(tileDir != "empty")
{
tPoint = new Point(0,0);
tRect = new Rectangle(0,0,30,30);

[Code]...

I am trying to do tiling with sprites. I want my tiles to be interactive, so that is why I am using the sprite object instead of using regular bitMaps to represent my tiles. You might be wondering why I wouldnt just use graphics.beginBitmapFill(tImage); and graphics.drawRect(0, 0,tWidth ,tHeight ); to pick out the tiles I want to use. Well reason being is because it turns out that drawRect() first and second parameters actually alter the location of where the actual sprite sits at.

So if I set the x and y properties of the sprite to x = 20, and y = 20. then I set my drawRect(20,20). it actually adds an extra 20 pixels to my x and y coords of my sprite. And I know the reason why, I just need to know a better way.
