I'm trying to figure out how to generate random colors but within a particular range.In my application I have to allocate a random color to an unknown number of movieclips.I can do this ok but sometimes I'm wind up with a very ugly combination of colors like bright yellow and purple for examples.How can I generate random colors within a particular "range" I guess is the word for it?
ActionScript Code: for (var h:int=0; h<noOfUniqueClips; h++) {
I'm trying to replace a range of colours programmatically - I have sprites for a game that have parts of them in shades of magenta specifically so they can be recoloured to show their team colour (blue,red,etc).I've been able to use BitmapData.threshold() to replace a single specific colour with another. What I need to be able to do though is set some sort of range of colours and appropriately shade them blue/green/red while keeping their relative light/dark shades.Here's what I've used to do a single colour:
Code: var thisBitmap:Bitmap = MySpriteBitmap; //source bitmap var colouredBitmapData:BitmapData = new BitmapData(thisBitmap.bitmapData.width,
so what i understand from this im learning flash from [URL] tutorials and no matter how many times i listen to each word the guy says, i dont understand this part in the vid, we are making a die to roll from 1-6 although the code below is not the finali
I'm trying to start an animated loop from one of the defined frame labels. My code on frame 1 is:
[Code]...
Unfortunately, it's not working and the animation plays through normally. At the end I have a gotoAndPlay(2); command so it doesn't reread the code again.
I have a single line for my XML gallery,that I'm have a few troubles with.I want to tell the gallery that after it has loaded all the thumbnails; to perform a function on the the 5th thumbnail up to the 40th.gal["thumb"+(5+random(40))].gotoAndStop(2);So far, I've just managed to tell it to randomly select any thumbnails from 5 to 40. I need EVERY thumbnail from 5 to 40.
[code], but I need to eliminate a 0 outcome from that formula. Is there a way to make sure I never get '0' as the result or should I do this another way?My goal is to multiply a Number with +/- 1, but it needs to be random of which one i multiply with.
I need to have a color key that changes color in relation to how close/far the user drags a movie clip from the correct area. For example, if I have a circle_mc and want the user to drag it within a bounded area (trapezoid in this case), as the dragged mc gets closer to the correct area (a circle perhaps) the color of the color key box changes along a continuum from red (wrong/far) toward green (correct/close)
I'm trying to come up with a function that can give me an array of unique random numbers based on a range. If they don't fit within that range then it keeps check until it return the correct array of numbers.
Unfortunately I just keep getting an constant loop that crashes flash.
ActionScript Code: var positions:Array = []; function uniqueRandomNumber(max:Number, min:Number, len:int, range:int = 100):void {
[Code].....
uniqueRandomNumber( 200, 0, 6, 40 );
I want to make sure that all numbers are 40 apart from each other
Im trying to create a list random numbers from 1-30 but only 10 will appear. but i also need to make sure that the list of random numbers will not have duplicates (eg 1,1,20,14,3,28,4,1,18,21). I had the thought of using an array to store the list of numbers but im stuck with how to properly use an if..then to check if the same number has already appeared.
_scriptRookie
Code: function randRange(min:Number, max:Number):Number { var randomNum:Number = Math.floor(Math.random()*(max-min+1))+min; return randomNum;
I want to animate an image inside a movieclip with frame label animate1, animate2, animate3 and animate4.I did manage to generate random numbers but my concern is that I want my animation will not animate same image twice, below is my code.
Create a 12x9 grid;Populate the cells with random numbers ranging from 1-9;Assign a symbol (custom graphic) to each cell depending upon which random number is generated in it;Limit the amount of times each number in the random range is used to 12.My question is simply this: how do I, using AS3, create a random number function that will only use each number in its range a maximum of 12 times (it is important to note that my grid consists of 108 cells using the numbers 1-9 exactly 12 times each)? So for example, if the random number function populates 12 cells with the number "4," it will then exclude that number from its remaining iterations.I am adhering to OOP standards so including script in actual timeline frames is not desirable.
really great job done in the forum This is my first thread here, and i would like to ask how can someone produce a random number within a complex range.In my case i want to produce a random number in the range [0,90]OR[270,359] and i can't find the way to do this using Math.random . I looked on the internet but in most cases a simple range is used like (2,40) or [4,50] etc.
I am attempting to dynamically change the color of a subset/portion of text in a Spark TextArea control. Using the MX-based TextArea, I could leverage the mx.controls.textClasses.TextRange type and change the color directly as follows:
1st argument: The TextArea control that will provide access to the underlying textField property 2nd argument: Indicates the TextRange will not modify the content of the TextArea 3rd argument: The beginning index position in the TextArea text string 4th argument: The ending index position in the TextArea text string
How would I go about doing this for a Spark-based TextArea control? I am looking to dynamically change the font color for a range of text, not just the entire TextArea AND I cannot statically specify the font color. The problem I run into when trying to re-use the TextRange type is that the 1st argument is expected to provide the textField property, which is currently not on the Spark-based TextArea control. I thought about extending the Spark-based TextArea control to provide this accessor property but that seems like overkill and is probably not the best approach.
I have an object which I want to rotate between -45 and 45 degrees, but I want that to be based on the mouse position. If the mouse position is at zero, I want the object to be at -45 degrees. If the mouse position is at the stageWidth, I want the object to be at 45 degrees. How would I accomplish this?
Id like to add something more but dont know how.I[d like to make the MC to load a random color, in a color range that I specify, like #000000, #FFFFFF and #111111.Also, I want somew buttons to change between this colors, but with an ease transition.
How to change the font and overall look of a combobox in Flash / ActionScript 3? Are there theme files I could download, or a script I can use? I am relatively familiar with AS3 / Flash, but have never needed to skin a combobox till now.
Is it possible to change color and theme style of flashpaper when we load it in Flash?It's color is not good for my project... How can I change it's color from halo green to something else
I want to make a button that makes you got to a random frame within a certain range (eg frame 41-50) when you press it. I have tried various codes but so far no luck. Im using AS 2 and the button is within a couple of movie clips, but you can still click it when you test
I am able to get <styling> as a XML but I cannot figure out how to parse the style object in order get the color, fontFamily fontSize attribute values. I am also unable to access the lang attribute value <tt xml:lang="en">
I'm trying to get a random date in a date range and this is what i have so far but it doesnt seem to be working ? Where I'm I Going wrong ?Gets the date difference
private function differenceBetweenDates(date1:Date, date2:Date):Number{ var MS_PER_DAY:uint = 1000 * 60 * 60 * 24;[code]..........
I have a two questions regarding XML and AS3. Even though I've been using flash for a few years now I would still consider myself to be at a nOOb level... Question One: Basically I have a website (all in flash) and there's a passworded section for clients to access their own information. Previously I've done this by adding the username and password info into the flash movie itself each and every time I have a new client - which works but is very time consuming (considering the number of clients I'm getting now). Is there a way that I can put all the names and passwords into an xml file, and flash checks it?
Question Two: Up until now, once a client has entered their username and password it takes them to a new .swf that has their info in it. And once again, I've been creating separate swfs for each clients (and again, time consuming). What I would love is after they've entered their username and password it takes them to a different scene or frame (still in the original swf) that has dynamic text fields that load the info from an xml file. I assume that these questions have relatively simple solutions, but I'm not sure how to do it.
