I'm trying to built a flash site with a flv video as background. The video and the buttons are in different layers in the main timeline. The problem is that when i open a certain button, i want the video to stop.

I have a custom video player that loads videos from an external xml file. It uses all actionscript to control the video using the attatchVideo(ns).
At present the video starts playing as soon as the video opens, I would like the video to only start playing after the user clicks the play button.
What is the actionscript I need to achieve this?
* all the actionscript for all buttons etc. is on one layer called actions. Videos are external not on layers.
I am putting together a basic video portfolio and have everything working except when I click the back button to get back to the thumbnail page (contained on frame 1) the audio from the video continues to play, I'm not an expert on as3.
I have tried a lot of code in the function below ( like "stopAll();" ) but nothing seems to work.

The problem is that the video keeps playing, so I need some code that stops the video when the user clicks on the "Audio Demos" button.

I am trying to create a little website in flash.. I have some video that plays automatically once the user goes to that section (I am using frame labels to navigate from section to section of the site). But, when the user clicks another button to go to a different page, the video is still playing because I hear it..How can I stop the video from playing once another button gets clicked?

View 3 RepliesI have a problem with my slideshow script. I have embedding a flash video file into my website with this slideshow called monoslideshow, and everything seems to work perfectly. Trouble is, when I am clicking on another menu button that should jump to another frame, it still keeps playing the video and sound while displaying the new menu data.So I will probably need some code that stops the video instantly, when another menu button is clicked. But how do I write it and where do I put it?

I have a website that plays video1 when it opens. When you navigate to next page the video stops. One of the buttons on the second page plays video2. The problem is that video 2 won't stop using the same command that made video1 stop.
View 2 RepliesI built a timeline based player with 2 menus and many videos that you can play.The buttons move the timeline to a frame label and the video plays. The back button has a stop function built in it so the video stops playing when its hit.It plays wonderfully locally but once on a server after a few clicks it boggs down and sometimes the audio from the last video remains playing even when prompted to stop. I was pointed to use the add and remove child functions to prevent this but being very new to Flash and 100% self taught i have zero idea on how to do this. View 3 RepliesI know how to make a video (instanced as showreel) stop when clicking on a button that that navigates to another section/frame, since otherwise I would still listen to that video while not visible. The problem is when I'm in another frame that doesn't have that video, when clicking on the menu to go to whichever other frame, it looks for that it to stop if it's playing and it and doesn't find it, and so there's an error.
How can solve this? Maybe I should put an order saying something like if there exists a video in that frame instanced as sowreel, stop it, otherwise don't do anything as there is nothing to be stopped. Or assign the order to the frame (which is called motion), but I don't know how to do that, can someone help? The code I have is:

The movie stops.However, whenever I add getURL(http:url]....); The looping continues and never goes to the site.I have tried seperate layers putting each command in a seperate keystone, and I have tried using both of them together.Also I am using CS4 and it gives me an error code for getURL---- The error code says sendtoURL
View 3 RepliesI just got Flash CS3. I'm trying to get my main timeline to stop in the begining, on button press to play and at the end stop again. In AS2, you would just put stop(); on the first keyframe and stop(); on the last key frame and program your buttons accordingly.
The stop(); does not work!!!! It's driving me crazy. What am I missing? I've gone through the tutorials in Flash and they don't work either.Also, if you have MovieClip that contains an animation and you don't want the movie clip to be on a continuous loop how do you stop it from playing. In AS2, I would put a stop(); on the last keyframe of the movieclip's animation. This also does not work in AS3.

This works fine in Firefox but in IE it doesnt work, I then change the /v/ in the youtube link with /p.swf?video_id= and now I have the window open showing the small youtube thumbnail of my video but once a click play, nothing happens, I check it and is not loading anything.
That has all the basic functionality like play, pause, stop, forward, rewind, and volume controls?

The video file is included in the package file. Is there a trick to referencing a video in the package? Here's what I am trying:

I have followed Lee's Flash Video Basics and XML Video Playlist tutorials. All is working great, but I have one problem that I can't seem to solve.The playlist is on my main timeline. What I'm trying to do is load the actual video player in a new movieclip. My problem is I don't know how to reference the xml links to tell it to load movie in a new movieclip when clicked.My script is exactly like Lee's finished tutorial file with one exeption, a movieclip named VideoPlayer_mc with all the player buttons etc.
View 2 RepliesI need to have a fullscreen AS3 projector to open a video within the presentation to fullscreen and then back to its original size. The video is inside another movie clip and doesn't use the FLVPlayer component. There is also a custom video controller that needs to be positioned under the video when viewed fullscreen and then return under the original video. I have had some success opening the fullscreen video but could not position the video or controller position accurately.

I'm also looking for something easy to setup - like including a javascript tag at the top of the page and then perhaps using a div, or just 1 line of script code to make it work. If it's flash, then have to be simple to setup too.
View 2 RepliesI just wrote a P2P video chat similiar to the Cirrus example application on my web site. It works great, as long as both users manually open the ports required for RTMFP. Naturally this is a deal breaker for me - since no one will use it. What is the standard solution in this case? Should I publish the instructions of how to open the ports on different firewalls? Should I write a small batch file to be downloaded that programmatically opens the ports? Is there a different (commercial) tool that allows me to bypass it in any other way?

So i wonder if it would be posible to open the webview only with the stream video. In fullscreen or focused on it, without seing anything else. I mean, only the webview with the video, or the whole page, but with the view focused and zoomed so that i could just see the video

client-side: how can one access to cam and mic local streams not using flash ?
server-side: are there any existing frameworks or open source servers (something like red5) that focus on this kind of use cases ? If not, what do I need to build my own (lightweight) visio chat server ?
