I am new to flash and I'm trying to do a button. This button should play a short video clip when I would go mouse over it. On Mouse Out, the video should stop and reset.

have been looking for the right solution to my little problem and not found anything that works with my project.I have a fully functional mp3 player built in flash cs5 with AS3 and I would love to make the stop button reset the song to the beginning instead of pausing it like it is doing at the moment.. My code for the whole app is as follows :

When I use keyframes to move a video clip - the playback of the clip resets to it's first frame at every keyframe. Is it possible to move a rolling video clip using keyframes without altering the playback of the clip?

I have no other actionscript in this whole .fla file except a stop();
I have a button, inside the button I have a movie clip at the OVER location.
That movie clip simply plays 10 frames, and at the last frame I set the action stop();
All I want it to do is stop these 10 frames from looping, while the scene keeps doing what it does. Instead, as soon as the 10th frame inside that movie clip plays, it stops the whole scene.
Just new in forum and just new in as3 programming. All i want to do is to make some physics simulations (i'm physics teacher...). So i made my first sim with the following code, just to simulate a simple motion with constant velocity. It works ok, except the part i need to reset the display by the means to start the motion all over again (reset button). Then the motion starts but the traces of the previous motion remains on stage. I tried the null command (sp=null) but the sim could not start again because the sp nedded to be non-null...

I have an issue with adding a reset button to my drag and drop movie clips.The problem is, if a student drags a movie clip to a wrong location on the SWF file I want them to be able to hit a reset button that would take them the same SWF that they opened and what would showup would a clear page for them to restart their drag and drop exercise.I know how to make the button for this just want the proper action script to be able for user to start over with no movie clip symbols on the page.

If you go there and click on the "Corporate Videos" section, you will see me pop up and start talking.
But... if you click on one of the videos below... I keep talking over the top of the new video.
Is there a way to "tell target" the one video to stop playing from the action of clicking play on the other video so I stop talking the minute any button on the page is pressed?
I am using AS3 with the FLV Playback component for all these videos.
I have imported a flv video in to a flash8 page and want to get the video to stop on load?when importing the video there are no option other that to included the skinning play/stop/pause etc buttons but no option to stop the video on load!

I am working in AS2 and I am wondering if someone knows how to make a video so it doesn't reset everytime the user logs in - it just remembers where they are and what they already clicked.I created a video that will be uploaded in a learning management system.Students can click on movie clips and make them disappear.What I would like to have happen is have the flash video remember which movie clips the student already clicked (and made disappear) so that the next time they log in the movie clips that should be invisable remain invisable (rather than starting over)Basically, it is like a little game, once saved you do not need to start at the beginning every time you go back to it.....it remembers where you left off.
View 5 RepliesSo for the first time I imported a video clip into Flash 8, used the wizard and even found a tutorial that basically walked me through the steps of the flash wizard.I imported a clip from my computer, progressive download from web server, tried both encodings of flash 7 and 8 medium,SteelOverAll skinning,the let flash do its thing, set my publish settings, published, tried it out and played SWF, looked fine, then uploaded the SWF, FLA, HTML and FLV on my web site but all it does is "waiting for .... .com", my website.I double checked in different browsers, Internetexplorer, Mozialla, Chrome, all having Flash Player 10 latest version and the FLV file is only 1.2MB big, yet after 10 minutes still nothing playing back online........did I overlook something here?

I need to be able to unload it if the user jumps to another part of the timeline. I have tried to just unload the movieclip, but it still seems that youtube is streaming data to the swf. If I do it locally, it crashes the application. If I put it on the server, it makes it clear that youtube is still loading even though the movie clip has been unloaded.
We have a short video of a street, which we are looking to pause when it is clicked and then all the hazards turn into drawings and flash. Then when you hover over a hazard it tells you some info about it.I have managed to get the video to stop when clicked, using the below code but can't get the movie clip of the flashing hazards to play at the same time. Is it even possible?

View 1 RepliesI recently made a flash banner that changes frames when you click the next frame and last frame buttons, and it also goes to the next frame on a timer. The thing is, I need the timer to go back to it's starting point when you click one of the buttons, so you don't end up seeing a frame for 2 seconds. Initially, the timer starts at 7 seconds, and when you click a button, I'd like it to go back to 7 seconds. Here's my .FLA file:[URL]
Also, whenever the banner goes through all of the frames and comes back to the first frame with the buttons, the first frame next_btn stops working for some reason.
How can I make a reset button so when the file ends it resets all variables and code to the default run-time code and frame?

I imported a video in my "about me" section of my website with a skin chosen from within flash. However, when I click within another section of my website, for example "Home" and go back to the "about me" section, the video starts playing automaticly. If your speakers are turned all the way up, you will jump.
What is the code I need to add to my video's actions layer to stop the video from playing automaticly and give the the user the ability to play the video themselves?
And what would be the code if I wanted to reduce the volume at 50% for example but have the video play automaticly?
I am trying to make a shooting game and I am using the Pistol as a movieclip but it just won't stop playing!

At the moment I have created a movieclip which plays when the user clicks it, but I now want to be able to stop the movieclip if the user clicks on it again. At the moment I have the following code:

The tree animation plays fine, but i want to be able to stop it if the user clicks it again.

Button should start a movie clip different than it is itself.
Is it possible to make some kind of clickable object that resets a flash file? Say you're in a game and your character gets killed. By clicking on a button you you're taken back to the start of the flash file and all the variable reset to their starting positions. Basically I just want to make a button that reloads the flash file the same as hitting the reload button on your browser (except that it just reloads the flash file and not the entire web page).
