ActionScript 1/2 :: Make A Reset Button And Add Script To It To Reset All Of The Drag And Drop Movie Clips?

I have an issue with adding a reset button to my drag and drop movie clips.The problem is, if a student drags a movie clip to a wrong location on the SWF file I want them to be able to hit a reset button that would take them the same SWF that they opened and what would showup would a clear page for them to restart their drag and drop exercise.I know how to make the button for this just want the proper action script to be able for user to start over with no movie clip symbols on the page.

I've designed a drag and drop game and I would like to add a button that resets both the draggable objects and the counter so that the game starts fresh and can be replayed.
 
Also, I would like the button to appear after all the draggable objects have been placed on their corresponding targets.

Sounds strange, but let me explain. What the user sees: Loading the page, color swatches fade in and slide over into place, row by row. Once in place, user can drag and drop swatches around, place side-by-side, etc. The script necessary to attach to a button so that all swatches can be reset back into place where they were, and not generate a replay of the initial movie clip from the beginning. (a goto and play is not what I'm looking for) Here's my code so far:

I have a drag and drop interface that includes 164 items. Each item is a table. You drag the tables into an image of a floor plan for an event venue.I have the drag and drop stuff working but now I'm stuck on the reset button. AS3 is a new beast to me. I've run traces on everything. It will not trace with the code for the reset button in place. It WILL trace for all the drag and drop functionality.

The users have to drag-n-drop the right answer onto the question.The question data is pulled out of a SQL db trough an .NET form (fscommand ("getquestions", "1") for question 1, etc.I can get 1 question to work on 1 keyframe, but when I want to reset the question & fill it with another one (for example question 2) I cannot seem to find anyway to reset the whole frame & dump new data into the variables.

It works ok, except the part i need to reset the display by the means to start the motion all over again (reset button). Then the motion starts but the traces of the previous motion remains on stage. I have an avatar that's made up of several child movie clip sink points such as head, arm, pants, etc. I'm trying to be able to swap out items, such as a new hat, new gun, etc dynamically based on the user's selection.

I'm able to modify a regular movie clip in AS3, but I've now moved to having a avatar that's composed of several labeled animations such as "walk" "idle" "jump", etc. The problem is, once I modify the avatar, and do a gotoAndStop("walk"), the avatar reloads all the original assets that were created when the avatar was rigged up.

I recently made a flash banner that changes frames when you click the next frame and last frame buttons, and it also goes to the next frame on a timer. The thing is, I need the timer to go back to it's starting point when you click one of the buttons, so you don't end up seeing a frame for 2 seconds. Initially, the timer starts at 7 seconds, and when you click a button, I'd like it to go back to 7 seconds. Here's my .FLA file:[URL]

Also, whenever the banner goes through all of the frames and comes back to the first frame with the buttons, the first frame next_btn stops working for some reason.

I have a button that has an onPress function that attaches a movieclip with startDrag(true) so the attached movie snaps to the mouse and can be dragged around. The problem is that I don't know how to set up the onRelease function so that when the mouse button is lifted the attached movieclip is removed. Also, the attached movie appears in the upper left corner for just an instant before snapping to the mouse.

I programmatically added 20 instances of a movie clip named "Token" to the stage.  Token consists of a small rectangle and a dynamic text field.  Each instance of Token was named "tkn."  I'm attempting implement drag & drop for these movie clips.  In the drag function which is called by the Mouse_Down event I've traced e.target.name.  Instead of getting the name of the movie clip, tkn, I get name of the text field contained within tkn.  After a lot of searching I found the mouseChildren property and within the code for the movie clip I now have the statement "this.mouseChildren = false;"  This change corrected the name problem.  I no longer get the name of the text field, but the movie clip name has been changed to "instancexxx," where xxx is a 3 digit number.  Since I only want to drag the tkn movie clips I am testing e.target.name. How do I get Flash to keep the name of the movie clip as tkn?

I need to set up a Flash swf that enables me to drag and drop a series of shapes from point A to their individual point Bs. However, I need to ensure that this can only be done in a particular sequence. i.e. shape 1 must be moved first, then shape 2, etc. If the wrong shape is moved out of sequence, it snaps back to the starting position until the user moves the correct one.I have the following actionscript on a button within the movie clip which drags :

stopDrag();

I need some way for the dragging and placing of each shape to only occur if the shape before it in the sequence has already been placed correctly.

I'm having trouble managing the depths of my movie clips. I've got a startDrag() function and a stopDrag() function. Whenever I rollover another MC, I want the depth of that object to change to 1+ the object it rolled over.(I apologize if my English is poor) Can anyone give me a nudge in the right direction? EDIT: This is as far as I got, but cIndex returns the depth of the object that is currently being dragged; not the object it's hovering over... Is there a way to get that depth?

With out getting into a ton of background I am wondering if there is a command that will reset all the variables in a swf at once with out having to do them individually?

I've googled and searched my books and can't find anything. Another option I could see is having the current flash reload, that would set everything back to the start but I couldn't find how to do that either.

I am a student working on a project with flash. I am simply trying to make a flash game using Actionscript 3 in Adobe Flash CS5. Everything is working fine, i can walk and jump, but I want the game to restart if the Main character touches an object and dies (like spikes in a pit). I have a main menu in frame 1 and the first level on frame 2. The main character is called "player_mc" and the object that kills him is called "dies".

I am working on a flash site that was done by someone else. I have never used actionscript before so I am sooo new at this. There is a reset button on the form so when people accidentally type in something, they can just click on the "reset" button and it clears all fields. The problem is that it's not clearing.This is what I have in the code for the button:

address = "";
message = "";
}

The three (fullName, address and message) are the names of my variable when you select each input field. Where am I going wrong with this? Nothing happens when I click it.
