I have a .mov file and I want to simply encode the video (i assume with flash media encoder) to be a flash file which loops continuiously with a Play/stop button. I'll then have this movie playing on my html page.

What I'm trying to do is start playing the file from a specific position (Ex. 20seconds).
However with netstreamObject.seek(20) doesn't work unless the stream has been loaded past 20seconds. Is there a way to specify starting to load at 20s? Or any other way of accomplishing this?
I am using flash 8 professional.
I have a custom video player that loads videos from an external xml file. It uses all actionscript to control the video using the attatchVideo(ns).
At present the video starts playing as soon as the video opens, I would like the video to only start playing after the user clicks the play button.
What is the actionscript I need to achieve this?
* all the actionscript for all buttons etc. is on one layer called actions. Videos are external not on layers.
give me the actionscript for a bar that has a play and stop button to play and stop frames in a flash movie. i would be gratefull if you could as i am really stuck
View 2 RepliesI just got Flash CS3. I'm trying to get my main timeline to stop in the begining, on button press to play and at the end stop again. In AS2, you would just put stop(); on the first keyframe and stop(); on the last key frame and program your buttons accordingly.
The stop(); does not work!!!! It's driving me crazy. What am I missing? I've gone through the tutorials in Flash and they don't work either.Also, if you have MovieClip that contains an animation and you don't want the movie clip to be on a continuous loop how do you stop it from playing. In AS2, I would put a stop(); on the last keyframe of the movieclip's animation. This also does not work in AS3.
I have created two buttons for separate audio files. Essentially if you click on the button it will play and stop. This works great! I have also injected a SoundMixer.stopAll(); to ensure if you click between both buttons that it will stop the current audio file to play the next one. My problem is when I select the 2nd button for the first time everything seems to be working...it's when I attempt to click on the first button again, that it will require 2 clicks and then it stops and plays accordingly...anyone know how I could eliminate this annoying two click process?

View 4 Repliesi am using soundmanager to order sounds. my site preview, in home page, square shapes comes into stage and you can drag drop them, all shapes binded its own sound. if they are colliding binded song will play.
the problem is i have 3 second timer to control sounds. every timeout i have to stop sound and play again for synchronous issue, that is my solution for that part. but sometimes before loop, there is an annoying little silence.

I created a movie clip that I am using as a button. I created the states in the clip (up, down, over) and the graphics work, but the sound is driving me crazy. I have a rollover loop that plays and a special click sound on the down/press. On the mouseclick, I want the rollover loop to stop and the down/click sound to play. Also, a getURL is happening on the release. Basically, everything works, except you can't hear the down/click sound. All sound just stops on the click.THis is AS2. Here's my code on the first frame. In the clip/button itself, I have the states labeled, the sounds placed using the properties and a stop on each keyframe of each state.:

Is there a way to loop the video with actionscript but not the audio? i.e. rather than extend and repeat the video phyiscally in the timeline inlind with the audio length - as I assume this will increase the file size?
The stop button plays as expected. The play/pause button plays as expected. The issue is when you press pause which will cause the play button to appear, then press stop. the video automatically plays and it shouldn't. I have bolded the control button script for convenience.

View 3 RepliesI am trying to import a video in to flash. I have converted it to a flv and used the stream from flash media server option and selected a standard play and stop bar. I have imported it in and it works find when you just select the individual swf that it loads into. The problem im having is that when I go to it through the home page, all the page loads apart from the video. I've tried moving it around, moving where all the assets to the video are etc. I know the file structure is important to this working. I have a main folder called interactive / and in that have a FLA and a SWF folder and the swf and fla home page. Currently I have the the video swf in the swf folder with the flv and the play and stop swf.

In Chrome and IE everything works fine, but in Firefox and Opera NetStream often dispatch event NET_STATUS with info.code = NetStream.Buffer.Flush and NetStream.Play.Stop and video is a slowdown.

Then when you hover over a hazard it tells you some info about it.I have managed to get the video to stop when clicked, using the below code but can't get the movie clip of the flashing hazards to play at the same time. I use alpha tween when Im about to show a new content and then if they change content the first content will alpha down to 0 right away.
example:
lets say i have two tabs, "contact us" and "about us" and a person click the "about us" tab they will then trigger this [code]...
and if they then click on the "contact us" tab within 1 second they will alpha down the "about us" content but because the tween time isnt up it will come back again. So I need a way to remove the other tween.

View 3 RepliesI'm almost done building a full flash site where it navigates by position of timeline.I just need a simple on/off button for a soundloop to loop and play automatically. the on/off button just simply turns it off (toggle is optional). on it doesn't have to resume, just start the pool again.
