ActionScript 3.0 :: Cannot Add Larger Videos To Simple Player
Feb 2, 2010
I tried to add an video to my simple player created using as3. It can only adds videos which have file sizes less than 10 MB. Is there any way to add larger flv files.? Any way to dynamically load files while half of it is playing.
var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
nc.connect( null);
var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
ns.client = this;
ns.play("Song1.flv");
I have flash CS4 and some time ago made a simple movieclip in an older version of flash.I now want to make a simple gallery with thumbnails that show a larger image once you hover over the thumbnail.[URL]I forgot most of the workings in flash, so it's difficult to make what I want.
I am trying to make the SIMPLEST POSSIBLE MP# player using the player component preinstalled in flash.It is very simple, the code is as follows:
Code: on (release) { player.contentPath ="Song.mp3" player.play() } ("player" is the mp3 component)
This works if I want a single track to be selected and played.Now, I need it to AUTOMATICALLY LOAD THE NEXT TRACK, which I will input in the code.I am thinking something like this:
Flash is not in my toolset, but I am an old Director jock and have spent some hours dipping my head into the Flash manual. I suppose that makes me a promising beginner-level poster. I'm working in CS5.
I need to make a simple Flash-based sound player for a website for a newly-released novel (http://www.bearriverbooks.com/index.html). I want the user to click on what appears to be an icon (or image), which kicks open a simple controller and starts playing a sound file (a radio interview, which I will probably export using Flash's voice compression). Nothing fancy. Just want the visitor to hear the sound and be able to apply simple controls (stop/start/rewind/volume).
I can learn ActionScript, I suppose, since I used to dream in Lingo, but my life would be a lot simpler if I could just publish a controller without having to roll my own. I'd like to think there's a magic button somewhere that can do this, but I haven't found it yet.
I was following a tutorial, but it was a little bit limited in options.So what I wanted is to have a few buttons and when we clicked on them they would play a different video. I found the cove above, but I wanted it to have at least one or two extra things.For example I didn't wanted the video to start immediately without any click on the button.And I would like to have a close button that would remove the video player from stage (I tried some things, but the best I got was only removing the video player but I could still ear the video playing).[code]
I just wanted to know how to play youtube videos within my own flash player (the .flv/low quality ones) i made a long time ago.I think they're not allowing this now or they've changed something ?
so encore has the 'export to flash" feature. it seems like it might be a good way to go for me becasue it prodcces a flash player with all my chapter markers in place. i have a couple questions though
1. it is limited to 1280X720 - i would have to do custom flash development to overcome that?
2. how is the resulting videos that are called by the flashdvd.swf served? i mean if i have 1-2GB of video clips are they served one at a time when called by the player?
3. is there any way to get the flashdvd.swf to fallback on iOS and maintain all the funtionality ?
As some Internet tutorial suggested I've built a simple server-client application for FLV Video Player using PHP and Flex. The problem I encountered is that I can't change the source of the video in the mxml file using Notepad++. The source could be changed if I run Flex but It's not a good idea because I want to run different videos through this player.how to run different videos with this Flex Video Player component because my application works only for this given in the source of FlexPlayer.mxml-maybe I shouldn't use this mxml file for the different Video Sources?
I got roped into assembling a cd of videos to send out to jazz students for my video class and I'm a bit over my head code-wise, so I'm turning to the pros. The project has about 5 different videos that are all suppose to play (locally from the disk) when the corresponding button is clicked, and they need to be scaled and positioned on the video section of the background img. I can make the buttons work, scale and position is no issue, but can't get one video to stop and the other to start.
I thought I would simply just removeChild the current video and start up the next one. When I took the project I thought it would be simple, but I had never really worked much with video so when I dug into it I found myself a bit overwhelmed. How to work with local media (I found tons of stuff on streaming it from the web) all I need is to make one video stop and another play when a button is clicked.
I have some videos that I don't want to let the realplayer be able to have downloaded with their program. Is there any actionscript or technique to block the download process, and just keep streaming the videos in the application?
I am looking for the abilities that Youtube's Chromeless player has to offer but for non-Youtube hosted videos such as Metacafe, Vimeo, Viddler, etc. Abilities I will need are :
[Code]....
Can I use Chromeless player for videos hosted on other sites besides Youtube? If not, is there a solution out there? If not, what languages/APIs would I need use and know to create such an application?
How to implement advanced video player (javascript/jquery/flash) for youtube videos that supports playlists? Is there some good open source script for this, that I could modify.
Ok here is the situation. I've made a media player for 2 hour long training videos. 1. Their are cue points throughout the FLV that have questions the user must answer. 2. The user is allowed to skip to different sections of the video(the beginning of each segment), but they are not allowed to skip forward in a particular segment, unless they've already answered the question for that particular segment.
Here is a preview of how the segment are laid out: I can figure out how to determine if they can or cannot seek, but I just dont know how I can only constrain seeking to particular sections of that timeline.
There are 10 buttons on the stage and a display area. Clicking any button runs this function[code]...
This works well for the first few videos but after 5 or 6 unload/load cycles, the player gets slower and slower and eventually stops responding. I thought the basic idea of unloadMovieNum was to remove a movie from the stage and reclaim the memory but this doesn't seem to be the case.
I'm completely new to Flash and actionscript, so please bare with me. But I'm in a bind, so I thought I'd give this a shot.I'm needing to play a commercial before playing an actual video on my company's website. Once the commercials ends, I'd like for the video to start automatically. Is there an open souce (free) flash player that will let me do this?I've watched a tutorial on how to do so, but when I try to make it work with a player, it never works.
After I updated Adobe flash player I noticed that videos I streamed did not play correctly.A video will begin to play but part way through it will freeze. It will indicate that it is buffering but it never finishes buffering and never continues to play, even if I refresh it.This occurs for several sites such as youtube, megavideo, and wisevid. This occurs for every browser I have tried (Firefox, IE, and Opera.) I also realized today that now iTunes cannot not download video either. When I try it says that parts of the files seem to be corrupted. I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash several times but that has not helped. I am using Adobe 10.1 (under version test it says it is WIN 10,1,53,64) and I have Windows 7
Has anyone seen a Flash video player out there that will load and play two videos at the same time, such as for comparing videos? A potential client is looking for something along the lines of this. I've not been able to locate anything out there,and I'm wondering if there's a usability reason for this...Obviously, you wouldn't want the audio playing for both at the same time, and the bandwidth issue for something like this might be a concern too. My feeling is that you wouldn't want to restrict a user to just playing both videos at once, but give them the option to play them separately or at the same time, with controls for each audio and playback.
I'll start by saying that I'm in the process of learning actionscript. That said, I'm wanting to play two videos with actionscript. I went through a tutorial and using a pre-built flash player I used the following script
[Code]....
Which worked fine. That said, that was just a test. We are wanting to use the F4 Player. I opened up the player and looked at the actionscript (which is below). I had some trouble, so I posted on here and this was my response..
I want to create a custom video player to modify the skin of the play controls etc but still host the videos on youtube.The youtube api allows for minor colour adjustments but not full customisation. I know it would be possible if I download the FLVs but i want the video to remain hosted on youtube.
I want to add a really simple music player to my flash website.Basically all i want is one of my tracks to start when the page loads.Then a simple 'sound on/off'.
with the FLVPlayback component i can get a nice looking basic player for .flv files easily..is there some way to set up the same functions to create a very simple mp3 player with flash?
I am oriented around html/css webdesign, and graphic design in photoshop, but know nothing of Flash, and i am attempting to learn!I have found a lot of complex tutorials but none that fit my specification. All i need to know is how to make an interface incorporating a play button which plays a .flv file. I already have a .flv file ready and the graphic i want to use for the button, but no idea how to begin.The .flv i want to play is a short 3-4 minute clip of someone talking including audio - i dont know the best way to play it and have heard of different options including embedding or somehow linking to an external flv file.I have tried various tutorials to try to achieve a simple interface with play button - i dont need a skin, rewind, forward, etc, just a play button and for it to go away while the video is playing, and perhaps a pause/stop button in the corner of the swf, over the top of the flv file itself. But I have had no success, mainly due to errors within the actionscript.
I have a html page with some links to mp3 songs.I would like to set things up so that when user clicks a mp3 link, a small flash mp3 player (embedded in the page) starts playing with that songs. The user could click on another song that would replace the last one at any time and have basic controls.
- flash mp3 player - need 1 that has start / stop and volume buttons (simple)
BTW: I set this type of thing up in the past with a frameset - top had quicktime player embedded - and bottom song links went to top frame - all was fine but kind of bulky.... looking for something a bit slicker...Also would like to do the same for flash / quicktime videos, Also if there's something free or close to free that is a jukebox type where the song list is part of flash,
I'm trying to make a simple MP3 player for a music website: one singer, several song... how to make a mp3Player with a playlist loading from XML file?
I could make a video player using FLVPlayBack with playlist from XML File in a List Composant, but i can't do the same think for audio file, using MediaPlayBack?
I've been trying to make my a simple RTMP player test. It seems to be getting the link, but not actually playing the video.
Here is the code:
Code: var connection_nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection(); connection_nc.connect("rtmp://video.njspeakup.com/vod/ppd"); var stream_ns:NetStream = new NetStream(connection_nc);
[Code].....
The onStatus is tracing back info, but like I said, nothing is playing. I have a videoPlayer on the stage with the name my_video. The FLA is attached. (CS3)
