ActionScript 3.0 :: Crush Line If Added Input Text?
Apr 15, 2011
i have a project , needed to add input text , so i maked a movie clip ,inside i added a input text field, after i added it.ctrl+entermy masking photo , have a crush line ,a long one ,some thing like bugging, but if i remove the input text field ,the masking photo have no problem again ...any one facing this problem ???? i cant do any thing about it, any one can teach me how to fix this problem ?? my project have a long coding,it work fine it i didt add the input text.
I have encountered strange problem. I have created simple Flash text field control and I wanted to compare its content with some other string. This comparison in triggered when user is pressing the button.In Action Script 2.0 code I noticed that a caret return character () was added at the end of the string coming from the input text field.It is easy to overcome the problem obviously, however I would like to understand what is going on. I use Flash CS4 with AS 2.0.
I've created a multiline Input TextField in Flash CS4 IDE, and when I publish and click on it the text cursor jumps down to the second line. In the Flash IDE there is no line-break, but somehow it gets inserted before it's ever interacted with at runtime. I've tried all sorts of random TextField settings but every time when I render the SWF, the input has a line-break. Anybody ever dealt with this? How do I get the TextField to just be empty on start??
Anyone know of a way to shift the first line of a single input line down so that it doesn't crowd the top edge of a text field? I could use a background sprite and have a textField positioned over the background, but I'd like to avoid this if possible. This is for fp9, not 10 so subscript won't help me.
It appears like TextLineMetrics are read only? Leading won't shift the first line and blockIndent only works on left/right margins?
When I create an empty input text-field and compile, the curser starts at the 2'nd line when I click the text field! Is there a work-around to get the initial curser position at the top?
i have 2 input textboxes where i have added the text "< Write here >"PHP Code:instanceName_txt1.text = "< Write here >";instanceName_txt2.text = "< Write here >"; i want it to disappear when i click to write in the textboxas i remember in as2 it went like this
I would think this would be pretty simple, but I don't really know anything about actionscript 3.0. Please put this into terms I can understand. Basically, I want to be able to input text in a text box and have the movie jump to another frame based on what is typed into the box after the "enter" key is pressed. For example, If you type "Frame 2" and press enter, It could go to frame 2 and stop.
Additionally, I want to beable to have it control movie clips within the frame. For example, if you type "MovieClip1 Frame 3" it could seemingly transform an individual element in the frame by making the movie clip go to and stop at it's third frame.Finally, in the case that something is typed that doesn't match up (that the movie "doesn't understand,") I would like a movie clip to switch from being invisible (frame 1 of the movie clip) to showing an error message (frame 2 of the movie clip).The idea is, I want to make a visual text-based adventure game. Like, you could type "go north" and it would go to frame 3 where there's the northern part of the village.
I've create an email form in flash that uses ac3 and php to send out an email when the users click on the submit button. However, the email I receive loses all line break information. example: user inputs: hi there form I will get an email that is 1 line only "hithereform"
Here is the ac3 code: var email_data:String = "name=" + contactName_txt.text + "&email=" + contactEmail_txt.text + "&subject=" + "Web Form Message" + "&message=" + contactMessage_txt.text; And the php code: <?php $contact_name = $_POST['name'];
I'm adding a line to a canvas using canvas.moveTo(0, 0); canvas.lineTo(100, 100);, but I then want the user to move the mouse to set the rotation of the line.Google suggests using the rotation property,but I don't have a reference to the line object.Can I get a reference to the line or should I rotate the whole canvas?
This may be a stupid simple question. But I am unable to figure out how to edit a Transition Time Line Effect once it's been implemented. I added the effect with no problems, but I need to make some adjustments to the fade now (because I am using the Transition effect), and I cannot find the controls again.
I'm trying to add a line to a movie clip. When I trace the width of the lineadded it traces correctly, but the line doesn't appear. If I do everything the same but add the line to the stage instead of the movie clip it does appear. I know this is one of those cases where I can't see the forest fro the trees but
Here's the relevant code: var xAxis = new Shape(); graph_mc.addChild(xAxis); xAxis.graphics.lineStyle(2, 0x000000, 1) xAxis.graphics.moveTo(startX, startY); xAxis.graphics.lineTo(maxX, startY) xAxis.name =
I'm using the text effect I found in ActionScript Text Animation , and the script works great.
My question is, is it possible to have line breaks? I tried adding spaces to end a line, but you'd have to wait for the script to read through the added spaces before the next line begins.
Ok I have 6 textboxes that the users will use to type in 6 different numbers from 1-49. What code would I need to add so that once the user has entered their 6 numbers, they are sent to and stored in an array?
I have an issue with font scaling of a dynamic text box.
Currently i have one input box named input_1 with a variable attached to it named "choc_1".
Also, i have a dynamic text box named dynamic_1 with variable "choc_1".
When the user types something on the input box then the dynamic box changes instantly and displays what the user has written.
auto scale-size the fonts to a smaller size if the user types many letters.
The input_1 box has a 13 character limit. My initial font size is 200, i want to scale down so when the user types 10 letters they fit the box and they don't go out of screen. I want to use one line, so wrap or multiline is not possible.
here's a code that i'm trying to fix but i can't get the dynamic box to change:

I've googled a lot, but i can't find a solution to auto scale-size the fonts to a smaller size if the user types many letters.

I am trying to load various swfs into a main swf. The initial swf loads in by default, the others load when buttons are clicked. All of the buttons also call a lengthy function called loadpic which appears later in the code - Currently the buttons load in the swfs as required, however the swfs are always behind the initial default swf. Is there a way to add removeChild to the buttons? I have tried creating seperate functions for each button and added the line removeChild(); however doing that means I would also have to repeat all of the later functions as well. If I add removeChild(); without placing it in a function the default swf doesn't show at all.
I'm trying to extend the text input that comes in flex to support an icon, just like mac os x search text input has a grey circle aligned to the right, the text input has a addChild method, but it didn't work for me.
the last of many problems, is that at the very end of the test, you're shown your score, and you have the option to type your name in a text box and click "save". Doing so will apply you score data (time elapsed, date, correct answers and percentage) along with the name you typed in, and output in a form, that you can save or print off, or whatever. The problem is, the input text box will not let you type in it. If you mouse over it, the mouse stays a pointer, you don't get the text tool. If you click on it, the cursor appears for a split second after you release the mouse button, but you cannot type anything in it.This is the actionscript for the output form:
Code: // function saveRecord(record:String, field:String, now:Object, score:Object):Void {
in Flash CS4 I have static text like: Line1 and line2 It's in 9 point Arial Regular as a device font. If I set the line spacing below 3.9 the second line dissappears from the compiled SWF file. It still shows in the FLA file. The same thing happens at 6pt but NOT at 5pt or less.
Is it possible to load a text file using line breaks as a delimeter rather than having a &var= at the beginning of each line? Like by a for instance? I have a text file with about 1000 lines that I need to load/display.
When a Dynamic Multiple line text field is used in Flash CS3, it has a very annoying feature that auto inserts a line break at the end of inserted text. It also auto inserts a line break if no text is entered too.
I'm having a problem with this because the text is being saved from flash to a text file on the desktop. With every multi-line text field there's a nasty looking line break.
Any way of "turning off" this auto-line-break-at-the-end feature?
I'm attempting to add line breaks after the code I've included below. I know that I need to add a " " after the line of text, but I haven't had any success.
I have 2 keyframes on my timeline.The first keyframe has an input text field (instance name: inputTxt) and a button (instance name: btnTester).When the user clicks the button it takes them to the second keyframe where their text should be displayed in a dynamic text box (instance name: txtBox).I get a null value in keyframe 2.
i created an input text box that puts the users input into a global variable, but when i test it it gives me not only what i have typed in but all the html formatting for the font that my input text box has on it.I only want the text that i have typed in to go into the variable but the wackload of html is going in there too. ive tried a few different things, rewriting my code, recreating the text box, changing settings, dont know what im missing.
I'm trying to build a fahrenheit to celsius convertor in AS3. How can I test to see whether what is input into a text input box (flash component) is not a number? This isn't correct but you can get an idea of what i'm trying to do:
if (celsius_txt.text == NaN || fahrenheit_txt.text == NaN) { //do something; }
