When opening a fla - made in cs5 - in flash cs 5.5 a message asks if I agree that the file will be converted to cs5.5. I agreed to the conversion and saved the file.When opening this "converted" fla I get an output error message: #1014: class fl.video::UIManager could not be found.The file is 08End.fla from Classroom in a Book Lesson 8.

I am trying to put together a class for playing video using the Video object. So far, I have only been successful in getting the Video object to fully work when not using a class setup. In the documentation, I have read that to use the Video object you have to actually drag/create the video object onto the stage. So, in my next attempt, I created the video object onto the stage within a MovieClip but still trying to use a class/linkage setup with the Video inside inside of a MovieClip container. No luck there either. Here is the basic AS2 script that is linked to a MovieClip that contains the Video object ("video" instance) within it.

I am refactoring a hugh action script solution in Flash builder (beta 2) using the flex 4 sdk.The project does NOT use the mx framework.What i want to have is:
A big 'MAIN' project several small 'MODULE' projects. each 'MODULE' class refrences the 'MAIN' project as an External reference (doesnt compile into swf) - this is done by setting link type = external in the 'MODULE' project properties -> library path.'MAIN' loads a 'MODULE' project on runtime using the 'loader' class.
the problem:I recieve an error from the MODULE project: VerifyError: Error #1014: Class [some class in MAIN] could not be found.
I've got a document class (EgoGame.as) and another class (Ball.as) which has been duplicated to deal with several different video pieces. Inside the document class is a list of 'if' statements which decide which video should be played. At the moment I'm doing it the old fashioned way whereby if the condition is true....it tells the relevant Ball class to gotoAndPlay a certain frame within the linked movieclip...

I'm trying to build a shuffle function that somebody gave me into my card game. I two external .as classes; one is Shuffle.as, which is my document class, and the other is card.as. I'm building the shuffling function into Shuffle.as. I think I'm getting close to making it work, but there are some problems. I have attached a video on a frame of my website in Flash. When I preview the movie the film plays as it should.But when I export the Fla. as a Swf. file it then doesn't have the movie there anymore?It does show this error:

I am creating a video gallery off of the demo action script 3, video gallery, that is shown on this site. I have updated the XML file that contains the link to the thumbnails and videos to the appropriate url. When I test the project out, I get the following error:

Flash cS 5.5 / Win 7. Inserting video into movieclip both with 'import video' wizard and via component. FLV that plays fine on a number of different servers. On opening (after gathering metadata) the message 'The video player is in the connection error state. It enters this state when a video stream attempted to load but was unsuccessful. There are two possible reasons for the error: no connection to the server or the stream was not found.' Firstly I am treating this as a progressive download, not streaming. Second this plays fine locally, it's only when I upload to a server it fails.
The FLV is in a folder directly below the SWF. Result is same with FLV in same location as SWF. MIME type set to vide/x-flv although I've also set it to application/octet-stream. This is a very basic requirement to call the video directly from Flash, the default parameters of the component are adequate and work locally. However the video does not play. Is it fair to assume this functionality simply does not work correctly within Flash CS5.5? I'm unclear as to what >less< I could be doing with this file.

It's streaming RTMP, and I'm trying to get my video to seek correctly if the user clicks on the groove bar (gray bar under the green progress bar) Currently it does not seek and gives me a NaN on my duration variable and an error on my progress bar width variable, which is puzzling me.
For some reason my videoDuration variable is coming up as NaN when used inside of my seeker function, also I'm getting a null object reference error when trying to trace out playerCntrls.progressTotalW which is the total width of the groove bar[code]...

View 2 RepliesI am stuck in custom video player for a long time. The original example of the thumbnail buttons are jpg image. They work. However, instead of stable place of the thumbs, I changed the thumbs to swf file with motion.

I'm using Adobe Flex Builder 3 with Flex 3.1 SDK. There is a sample code in documentation to play flv files, however I have compilation errors when I try to use it. Basically it says that there is no such method NetStream.play("file.flv") which takes string argument. There is one without arguments. Plus, It could find method attachNetStream in Video class. I'm confused, what I'm doing wrong!?

I have been trying to put the As3 video tutorial into a class which works fine if I keep the url of the file to play within the class. But I want to be able pass the url from the actual swf file... I have had limited success.
