ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Doing A Dynamic Background Stripe
Jan 12, 2011
i'm doing a dynamic background stripes effect like this URL...but i want, when resizing the swf window, to change the width and height dynamically.i have a problem when erasing my childs in the for, because i want to erase/create the childs everytime the user resize the window.[code]
but i want, when resizing the swf window, to change the width and height dynamically.i have a problem when erasing my childs in the for, because i want to erase/create the childs everytime the user resize the window.this is my code until now:
create an effect that loads a fullscreen background image that changes according to the navigation selection. The background will be replaced everytime the navigation is activated
I've designed a Flash site in CS3 using Action Script 2.0 that has a main flash movie sorta floating in space over a gradient background. I want the gradient background to re-size with the browser, so I thought that the easiest way to do this would be to delete the gradient background in Flash and instead recreate the background in Dreamweaver using the repeat background option and then make the Flash movie's background transparent. (I hope I'm making some amount of sense here).
I've found a few tutorials on how to do this, but so far I just get a white background instead of transparent. I've tried choosing "Transparent - Windowless" under Window Mode on the HTML tab in Publish Settings. And I've tried selecting the movie from within DW and clicking the parameter button and adding a "wmode" parameter with "transparent" as its value.
All the nav links are correct but i am having problems with the background color and placing the submenu nav links.For the background color i am have created a function drawBG. At the moment i have set the name static, but i realise that sometimes i have 3 submenu.So i can't use the same name over and over again. How do i create the names dynamicly for say 3 submenu'sso i have something, likemainMenuBG - submainMenuBG - subsubmainMenuBG - subsubsubmainMenuBG
I have a main FLA which is a flip book (the one like you click or drag the corner and will flip the page to the next one). And I have a swf background (a dynamic swf with floating bubbles which will move following your cursors).
I tried to embed the swf background in a container and then put it to my main Flash file (the flip book). It works fine but once I click the Full Screen button, the main contain (i.e. the flip book) is still aligned to the Top Left corner.
I tried many times by changing the codes such as removing the line "stage.align = "TL"" but it still doesn't work.I am trying to complete 4 tasks:
1) To align the main content (flip book) to the center of the screen no matter in "Normal" or "Full Screen" modes
2) To add the swf dynamic background to the back but still the flipbook will be aligned in the center without any changes (no matter "Normal" or "Full Screen" modes)
3) Add a button to toggle Full Screen mode but the flip book will be kept in the absolute center of the screen
4) Right click the flash and will show a pop-up menu. If I click "designed by:", the whole screen will turn black (both "Normal" and "Full Screen" modes)
I try to list out the codes I have:
Toggle Full Screen Code: Stage.scaleMode="noScale"; bg_mc.loadMovie("background.swf");
I would like to know if its possible to create a background flash that is dynamic while keeping the bars static?for an example checkI would like someone to build a home page for me to be exactly like the samsung site above except using my images. Is this possible?
I have a method that takes a few paramerters and dynamicly adds three images to the stage it also adds a background image to the three images.I am trying to figure out the following: How can I tween in the background movieclip and on complete tween in the three dynamic movieClips? Can I have a function within a function that shares the same variables?
Something like the following:
public function addImages(BackGround:String,Image1:String,Image2:String,Image3:String):void { var symbol_class:Class = getDefinitionByName(BackGround); var image1_class:Class = getDefinitionByName(Image1); var image2_class:Class = getDefinitionByName(Image2);
I'm doing this in an effort to make viewing a product catalogue better to view on dial-up, basically the next image should load in the background while the current one is being loaded.
I was thinking of making an object for each clip, although I'm getting a little lost on this, its late and I need to get to bed, so I thought I'd throw it up on here and see if anyone has any ideas!
Basically, right now the previous/next buttons aren't dissapearing when they should be and the previous image doesn't appear to be cached (needs to be tested in a browser to see this)
- From my XML file an array is created with several background images
- The first image gets randomly loaded into a BitmapData and is attached to the first movieclip for smoothing. After that the movieclip gets proportionally scaled to fit the Stage.
- After an interval (set in the XML) the second image gets randomly loaded into a BitmapData and is attached to the second movieclip with a nice fade-in effect. After that the movieclip gets proportionally scaled to fit the Stage and the movieclips swap their depths.
- The third image gets loaded into a BitmapData and is attached to the first movieclip again. etc etc etc.
I'm trying to have a dynamic text field with a black background. I want the text to be of fixed width, but expandable height, and for the background to grow with the text field depending on the input. I looked at the "autoSize" property for TextField, but it looks like that only adjusts the width.
Some "pseudocode" for your consideration: rolloverInfoBox.infoTextTitle.text="Title"; rolloverInfoBox.infoTextBody.text="Text body..."; rolloverInfoBox.infoTextBody.autoSize=true; // doesn't work; just for reference rolloverInfoBox.expandableBackground.height=rollov erInfoBox.infoTextBody.height;
I am trying to style text in a dynamic text field with a background color (not the whole textfield background, but just of the text - like the effect when you select it). My textfield is on top of a photo, which might explain why I'm trying to do this.
I have a dynamic text field being fed html formatted text from an external text file, and is set to autosize vertically (left), works no problem. I have an animated movie clip behind the text field for a background, so the text looks like it's inside a (animated) colored box. How do I make the background movie clip autosize (vertically) along with the text box above it?
I've got two files A and B. A generates a random number in a dynamic text box and loads an image as the background:
[Code]...
I'm trying to avoid useing a button to send the number from A to B, and instead am trying to use an event listener that sends the number when A loads background.jpg; but the number never gets sent (I start with B open already, and then open A). I've gotten this to work with an onRelease event for a button , so i know the LocalConnection coding works, but as I said I want to avoid using a button to send the number. I'm sure it's right in front of me but i've got no clue why it isn't working, so I defer to wiser minds.
I want to embed some video into my HTML page. As background I want to use big picture. And above it I want to insert loop video with (i.e.) walking man.So, can I embed video (without flash and any player controls) in page?Can I decode video with transparent background? Is there any codecs which support transparent background (alpha-channel)?
As the title already states i have a (big) problem importing a PNG in a Flex 4 application.Created a PNG file in Photoshop with transparent background. Loaded in Flex application using this code:[code]So when the complete event fires the data has been loaded and it is possible to assign the data loaded to the image component named Thumbnail:[code]Unitls now everything works as expected!But when i try to send the Thumbnail component's data to a WCF service i receive a photo with white background:[code]
trying to print a movieclip with a white backgroundwhile keeping the stage background black.The movieclip,printResults_mc has a white rectangle in the bottom layer, 850pixels x 1100 pixels. The following function scales printResults_mcto the printers printable area but because isimpossible to predict the aspect ratio of the printable area someblack background always leaks out. I tried making the whitebackground 20 pixels larger than I need (870 x 1120) and thensetting a crop rectangle in addPage of (10,10,850,1100), no luck,the black stage background just fills in the area outside the crop.A simple solution would be to temporarily set the stage backgroundcolor property to white, print, then set it back to black, but I
When I click on the next button that loads a another swf the background from the previous swf flicks on the screen.click on the attached link URL..[code]I would like the "current_ plan.swf" to load so that the over lays (no so much on the views but more in the LIVING MASTER.We are creating this for both touchscreen and web(the link is the working touchscreen version hence the files being large).[code]
I have converted a large background image (much larger than the stage) into a Movie Clip. I did this so I can make it scroll as the player traverses to the edge of the scene.This appears to make the player free to roam the entire background image.I have a tree symbol with a class attached to it that blocks player movement.Here is my problem:
When I drag and drop instances of the tree symbol onto the background, the trees are stationary and do not scroll with the background.I do not want to have to implement code to make the trees scroll when the background does.I was wondering if there was a way to simply attach the trees to the background so that if the background moves, the trees move with it and appear to be part of the background as if they were drawn into it.It is convenient for me to be able to drag and drop as many trees as i need to block certain routes on the background from the player.I tried writing code to make the trees move but it was only working for the very last tree that I added to the scene.
I really don't know much about flash or swf files but in updating my portfolio I came across Polaroid gallery. I have managed to update the background jpeg with my own picture and remove the fade effect. However in the original program the background was tileable so when seen in a full screen browser looked fine. As my picture is not tileable I would like to know if it is possible to scale the background or the whole swf object without tiling the background.
I am relatively new to Flash CS3 and i have been learning Action-script 3 over the past week. I have come quite a long way and i have made a site in flash but i just have a question.I have been using an image as my background and i am happy with the way flash automatically scales all the objects in my file but the background image does not scale. Is there a way to do this? I have found out things online which show me how to add auto-resizing to the background but this knocks off the flash auto scaling/resizing for everything else.
I'd like to be able to click on each of the buttons and have the background color change and also have its color name loaded in the dynamic text field. E.g. Clicking the white square would change the background color to white and should also display the text ''white'' in the dynamic text box. I've sorted out the colour changing part with the following code:
I have a series of background MCs, all different coloured gradients (pretty!), and a series of corresponding buttons elsewhere on the stage. On a press of each button I would like the corresponding background MC to come to the top of the pile of backgrounds, then fade in above the previous background. The background that was previously on top, needs to stay next-to-top.If the corresponding background is already at the top of the pile, then nothing needs to happen.
At the moment I am using swapDepths(1) which brings the target to the top no problem, but it may also send the previous top layer MC way down the pile.This is what I'm doing at the moment:
on (release) { if (_root.BG.colour2.getDepth()<=0) { _root.BG.colour2._alpha = 0;[code].....
I'm trying to make this game and in trying to make it look more realistic, I'm trying to get the balloon to curve upwards before coming down and hitting the target. Is that even possible? Also, the target are dynamically created with random x and y points, so is it possible to make the end points the x and y point of that target?
I have created a Flash application running in a browser (Firefox 3 on Windows XP). When I move this application from foreground to background and (after some time) viceversa, I notice a considerable slowdown, i.e. for about thirty seconds the application becomes unusable.
My swf is very small (~200 KB), but this swf creates *many* buttons and *many* other graphical widget (with statical images), so the RAM occupied is considerable (~150 MB).
I initially assumed that was caused by the swap mechanism of the operating system or of the browser. This was *not* true, and it was confirmed by the fact that, by default, Mozilla Firefox prevent Windows from swapping out memory when the program is minimized (see config.trim_on_minimize option). Nothing has changed even disabling the paging system of Windows.[code]...
