Instead of loading images or SWF files as the pages, I need to load text (simple, unformatted text)instead from variables passed to the swf file.This way I can use it just to show text from a database.Ideally my project also needs to allow the user to modify/save the text displayed, too, but I won't worry about that until I get the basic display going.Is this possible with a flip book?

I've looked at the other flip-book programs and editors out there, and none really give the customization that my company wants.I have something working, but the page scoping seems to be off. The pages will turn back and forward with a button click but they flip out of order. However, it all runs fine with no error when the user clicks on the pages themselves. I have purchased the HTML version of Flippingbook from the site below but have encountered various problems, in that it only supports Flash 9 +actionscript 2.0. Also the facility is problematic with zooming swf files. Great for flat brochures but not able to deploy flv video within swf files which is a shame.

View 0 RepliesI would like to have some dynamic content on the pages... I want to use it for a website. The problem is, when you click anywhere on the page, it reacts. I tried putting an MC over it to override it, I tried removing the Mouse listener temporarily... I'm not too advanced with AS, but I thought I'd give it a try... Well I just can't figure it out.
Is there any way that I could make it so that when the mouse is in a certain area and is clicked, the pages do not react like they should? With the dynamic content I'm going to need scrollbars and stuff and that just isn't going to work unless I can do this.
Does anyone know of a light flip class to flip a movieclip that is animated? Away3D is overkill for this project since this simple flip is the only 3D effect needed.

This tutorial, Coloring Book in Flash , is giving me headache for the last 2 hours. I am trying to create a sort of book type thing in flash. I would like to have a "next" button that when clicked will go over to the next body of text to be read, as well as a previous button that will go back to what was just read. I would also like a "back to beginning" button. I know how to do the "gotoAndPlay (1)" type thing on a button. However, would I have to add a new button on each of the text parts? Or can I put it all on the same buttons?
For example: (I know this isn't real code or anything, just trying to describe)
if on text one > got to text two
if on text two > go to text three
if on text nine > go to text ten
if on text ten > go to (end here so next button disabled, or changed to 'back to start').
