I'm trying to load an image from my HDD, using Loader. The code is something like this:[code]Everything seems right if the image.jpg is really a jpg file. But in the case this file is corrupted or damaged, my application stop running without any event dispatched!

The first test of any movie, after opening the Flash program (CS5 Pro) will work as expected. However, every test after thereafter will ignore the ActionScript completely and play on a continuos loop. After attempting to debug one of these instances, Flash gives me the error that the movie cannot be debugged because the .SWF contains no ActionScript.(I've tested several movies, with AS as basic as a single stop command and nothing else. I've tested the files on another machine. I've reinstalled Flash. Closing Flash and opening it again provides one more "fresh" test that works as expected. Finally this has not always been the case, the program was working fine for a few months (so I don't think the install CD is corrupt).
View 1 RepliesFor whole damn month I spend writing script for a actionscript application on Flash CS5. I had my Window$ Crashed!! and when I tried opening the flash file, it says "error opening File!". my swf is sized 0 KB, I even bought a decompiler, Trillix Flash Decompiler and tried to decompile the swf, it says swf corrupt. Now all I have is some classes and external swfs. Those thousands of as3 codes inside the fla file and the library objects are all gone.

It is a flash application loads all the library assets through bulk loader, later it will get assets from bulkloader to display in the main page. Assets includes swf,xml etc.

It doesn't necessarily crash anything, but sometimes certain components cease to function. I haven't been able to figure out what is going on, or how to fix it. I have found that it is a known issue: [URL] with the cs3 IDE... but that is what I'm currently stuck with. I am developing in Flashdevelop, using the IDE to hold assets and compile. Wierd thing is I normally only see it on the local standalone 9 player that cs3 outputs to, but I have one box that throws the error from its temp spot on the web. Anyone have experience with this? I have access to a cs5 trial = wondering if compiling with it might solve this issue.
I am writing an app for android devices, it uses the CameraRoll class to retreive images from the gallery. It then catches the raw bytearray data and encodes it into a base64 string, then sends the string via httppost to a server that decodes the string and saves the file.Every part of this is fine except one detail, the images are corrupt when they are saved on the server. Except one thing that makes things weirder, when I load these corrupt jpg images into a flash app they work just fine.Previously I have made apps that uses the Camera class to take photos in the app, and this works fine, the reason I am using cameraroll is because I want to be able to get high quality images, which is not possible using the regular camera -> bitmapdata.draw -> jpegencode -> send method.The code is basically thi

Getting a VerifyError using the TweenMax lib when calling TweenMax.to. This error doesn't seem to be specific to TweenMax (we've found other people having errors with unrelated code). Perhaps someone has some insight into what this error means and what could be causing it.[code]
View 1 RepliesMy Flex app uses local SharedObjects. There have been incidents of the Flash cookie getting corrupt, for example, due to a plugin crash. In this case SharedObjects.getLocal will throw an exception (#2006).
My client wants the app to recover gracefully: if the cookie is corrupt, I should replace it with an empty one. The problem is, if SharedObject.getLocal doesn't return an instance of SharedObject, I've nothing to call clear() on. How can I delete or replace such a cookie?

Im having a slight of a problem. I've just created a new application but I'm experiencing the following error: VerifyError: Error #1107: The ABC data is corrupt, attempt to read out of bounds. Now I've searched all over the web for a solution and the only thing I found that might solve it was to upgrade my flashplayer? I like to use the standalone player, simply because it launches faster and its easier to see how things are looking.. Currently it launches flash player 9.0.124.0. I've allready installed the newest SDK and selected it for use, but when I launch my project it keeps sending me to the old flashplayer. How can i change the standalone flashplayer that flexbuilder (3.0.2) launches to either the newer flashplayer 9 or flashplayer 10? And can you tell me this is the correct way to deal with the error I'm experiencing or do I need to take another approach? Am I doing something wrong?
View 5 RepliesI've got an AS3 project where I'm trying to compile in several images, a soundtrack, and a video via [Embed] metadata. It's a product requirement that these be embedded, so network transfer is not an option.I'm getting some really strange behavior - a sort of intermittent corruption of the compiled-in data. Sometimes after the project compiles, I run the swf and it closes immediately and writes "Warning: Failed to parse corrupt data" to the flash log. If I delete the binary and clean the project, sometimes it'll run fine after building it again. Sometimes it doesn't. This is probably the strangest part about this problem, but sometimes when I see that error, I can physically move the video [Embed] lines to the end of the file, then clean the project, and it will build and run no problem. Sometimes I move them back to the beginning of the file and it builds and runs fine.

I've tried both removing the -debug compiler option and adding the -optimize option, but no luck.Everything is being ran through the GNU C preprocessor for some other tasks, so maybe I'll try removing the preprocessor stuff and hardcoding those variables...Turns out the corrupted data message was due to images created with Photoshop's "Save for web" feature. If I save them outright as PNG images I don't get the message. However, the intermittent nature of the movie compiling properly still seems to be an issue. Now sometimes when the project is compiled it won't throw any compiler errors, but I get a blank flash player window. Right clicking in flash player shows a context menu with a message that says "Movie not loaded..." This doesn't appear to have anything to do with things being ran through CPP first.
An IE issue has me completely stumped. I have a coldfusion page that uses JQuery's AJAX .load function to load in a new flash file that is generated by coldFusion's cfchart tag. This works completely fine in firefox: the new flash file and new html elements load. However in IE: all of the html elements that are geneated with the flash object are loaded, except the flash object and embed tags do not show up at all after running an ajax call in IE. After looking in Fiddler, the flash application type response data doesnt even show up for IE. It does however for Firefox.I thought maybe it has to do with any kind of media, so i changed the chart type to output as a jpg file instead of flash. And it loads completely fine in IE. So something is preventing IE from receiving the flash response data.Here's what i've done so far - and no luck so far:

I need some help? Anyone experience this problem before with IE8 FLASH bug? Can not get this to work on all subsequent refresh to the flash. I have a flash piece which simply renders only on the first initial load. After that, if i refresh or visit the page, it does not load correctly. It seems I am having this problem with the swf only on subsequent loading of the page or whenever a refresh happens.
View 1 RepliesI am working with a project that has many scenes. Each scene has a movie clip attached to it. The first scene is simple...just a couple of buttons and that is it. My worry is that when I add all of the videos that correspond with each button and publish the SWF will be a huge file. THE QUESTION: Does flash load ALL scenes of a movie or does it load the first scene and then load the other scenes when the user needs to view them?
My ultimate goal is to just have the first scene load and then when the user clicks on the buttons contained within that scene that only upon release does the corresponding scene load. Maybe I am doing this completely wrong and should look at doing it another way.
I cannot get animated gif to display before flash movie loads. I am using this script but does not seem to work. I do not want to use a flash loader.

I'm told this happens only in Firefox. And I believe only Flash player 8. Works fine with FF and Flash player 9, or IE with 8 or 9 I believe.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to create a flash viewer, which will load various other flash movies. The viewer will be in the root directory, but the flash movies it will load are a few directories deep. Those movies access various sound clips that are in an audio directory relative to each swf I want to load.[code]It seems that when I load one of these movies into my viewer, the loaded movie is looking for the sounds in an audio folder in the root directory, and not relative to the swf I loaded. Is there a way to set this? I would rather not have to make the changes in each of my other movies to use the absolute path.[code]

I already know how to do that. But the website has to be update able without using flash. How would you do this? I thought i maybe could have one folder named "posts" and in that folder i could have folders named something like "post1", "post2" etc. And the post with the highest number would be the newest one. View 2 Repliesso i got my page set up pretty much, to sumarize its mostly 3 divs. one with a flsh banner, one with a flash menu, and the other is the content div, with html in it. you click on a link in the flash menu and it loads one of six different pages. but i came to realize that every page has the same banner and menu in it. it would be nice not to have to reload them every time. is there a way to just load different html in the content div by clicking something in the menu?

I'm using loadMovie() to load external swf's and then send the swf to a specific frame, depending on the button that is pressed.

Unfortunately it ignores the second line, which appears to be because the movie hasn't loaded by time it gets to the next line. As a work-around I made an interval to check for the movieclip width to be more than 0 and then run a function that chooses the desired frame, but this is very unreliable. Is there a simple way to load the clip and wait until it is finished, then immediately choose a frame on load?
