ActionScript 3.0 :: Load Images Into Flash And Update Whiteout Flash

Oct 4, 2009

I`m currently working on a website in flash which is going to be kinda like a blog. The swf loads in in two files for each "post", one image and one text file. I already know how to do that. But the website has to be update able without using flash. How would you do this? I thought i maybe could have one folder named "posts" and in that folder i could have folders named something like "post1", "post2" etc. And the post with the highest number would be the newest one. Something like this:

Can flash read directories on the server? (but i cant get the search to work. Neither in Chrome nor IE. I just get HTTP error 500)

Caching - Clearing Server Cache So That Flash Gallery Will Update Itself With New Images?

Jun 25, 2011

I have a website [URL] there is a flash gallery, every time I have to clear magento cache and browser cache to display my new images but now I've made few changes in swf file that before the smaller bars are not left aligned now there are both. In my local system the new swf file shows exact number of images in the smaller bars but in server they are not showing in full numbers.

I don't know what to do as I've cleared every cache that I can. I've read some where that put version number in your swf file so that brower can check if its new then it will download new but in magento how to do that. As the swf file contents are in cms pages home page content and they have done as :

<script src="{{skin url='js/flashobject.js'}}" type="text/javascript"></script>
<div id="flashcontent"
class="a-center"><a
href="http://www.adobe.com/go/EN_US-H-GET-FLASH">

[code]...

how to version the swf file and how to clear cache.

Flash :: Professional - Update Via SCUP - The Client Is Not Supposed To Be Interfered With The Update Progress

Nov 17, 2011

I am deploying Updates via SCUP and SCCM to hundreds of Computers. Fortunately Adobe provides an SCCM Update Catalog for both Adobe Flash ActiveX and Adobe Flash Plugin. But now my Problem: After publishing the Update via SCCM, the client is not supposed to be interfered with the Update Progress (which is working) I figured the Updater works like this: First SCCM checks if a Update needs to be deployed, if this is the case, The Flash Updater begins. First the old Flash Version is beeing uninstalled. But now: if the Client has a Browser Window (IE, or Firefox) open, the Updater is not able to install the new Flash Version and quits with an Error. This leaves the Client PC without any Flash (because its being uninstalled before) How can I prevent Flash being uninstalled due to the Update progress not working while a Browser window is open?

Flash :: Load Images Into It From Directory?

Jun 24, 2011

Anyway what im trying to achieve is - AS reads a directory on a server lets say, it contains 10 images, this would create movie clips for each one and assign them to array "pockets"(im not sure if you can do this in AS, you can in PHP and JS so I'd expect so) then I'd use a repetitive function to manipulate each one of those images.

I am trying to load this using the Loader class...the problem I am having is when I call load(), nothing happens. No events, no errors.I can take the same image and embed it. As long as as I set the height to less than 8000px it works fine. If I convert the embedded image to a ByteArray and try to load it, nothing happens.

mysql_select_db("prototipo");

This is supposed to fetch me the PATH of the image, the name so it goes on the label of the tile that displays the image, and brings me also the id so i can launch another query when that image is clicked on.

All this is set into a dynamically created XML.

What to do o AS3?? I already have the AS3 for the tilelist, i only need to load this dynamically created XML from PHP to it.

Unable To Load External Images In Flash?

Sep 14, 2009

I am trying to write a small flash app which will load and display images provided as a query. My flash app works fine when I provide the image path directly in the browser address bar, but it is not working when I do the same using html. Here is the direct link to the flash app: [URL]

Here is the link to the html with which I am trying to invoke the app. [URL]

Here the html code snippet invoking the swf file.

Code: Select all<!-- saved from url=(0013)about&#058;internet -->
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
AC_FL_RunContent(
'codebase', 'http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash

[Code]....

I know my app is getting invoked and it appears to work fine when I hardcode the image url into the flash app. But the query method just does not seem to be working!

This is hosted on a linux site supporting php.

Flash - Load Images Dynamically From Library Not Externally?

Sep 7, 2010

Trying to load images dynamically from library NOT externally since i want these images to be loaded when the site is launched. Basically i have several buttons, each button returns an event that throws a specific image name to grab. Here is the function;

function sendDisplayData(e:MouseEvent){
display_mc.displayName.text = e.currentTarget.parent.menuItemName.text; //name of image eg. "myImageName" in the library;
//create the image object

[code]....

So how can i make this function dynamic by using a String and then grabbing the image related to that string from the library.

Flash :: Display Three Images, Chosen At Random On Load?

Jan 27, 2011

I'm looking to display three images, chosen at random on load, throughout the duration of a banner ad.Basically, these images are health tips displayed on post it's - as it plays, the post-it's fly off, revealing the next tip.I also need ensure that the images don't repeat I 'm mostly a timeline guy, but I've been learning AS and have no problem getting one image to display randomly - however the three separate ones with no repeat is throwing me off.
My thoughts are to are to either

a) Put all the images on separate frame within 3 MC's, and somehow display a random frame within that clip on load, ensuring no repeat
or

b) Load the images into 3 separate MC's through and XML doc, and pick one at random.

The images only appear one at a time - so I think each MC would only contain one of the 3 random images selected.So is it possible to load a random image into a MC,and then duplicate that MC without a chance of the image repeating?

XML :: Flash Gallery - Load Images Through XML And Resize For Thumbnail

Aug 25, 2011

I have a flash image gallery that loads images through xml. Images have to be croped for thumbnails. So u have to have two folders, one for the thumbnails an another file for the big size images. I would like to know if there is a way to load only one image ( and not this image's thumbnail too) and with a script or something, to resize this image to get the thumbnail. To make my self clearer here is the xml code:

image../gallery_flash/imageGallery/images/watches/i1005.jpg image
thumb../gallery_flash/imageGallery/thumbs/watches/i1005.jpg thumb

(For some reason it doesnt show the xml right...) I dont want to have the line (thumb>../gallery_flash.), but only load one image and get the thumbnail also.
