I'm trying to set up a collision so that when a bullet hits a wall it is destroyed. Here is the snippet of code I am using: PHP Code:

This method works great for when detecting a collision between other moving instances and the walls, but for some reason with the bullets I get this error message when they almost touch the wall and Flash freezes and I usually have to restart it: PHP Code:

I got this error and I am not sure what it's about. The last thing I remember doing is adding a clearInterval() method to clear some setTimeOut() intervals varibles. besides that I am not sure what it could be. Not asking for a solution. But if anyone know's any possibilities of what it could trigger that error, maybe that

I'm trying to write the following 16bit WAV header data into a 16bit bytearray..? Using actionscript 3.
52 49 46 46 54 00 13 00 57 41 56 45 62 65 78 74 5A 02
What i'm doing is trying to pass the correct bytearray to this mp3 encoder (http://code.google.com/p/flash-kikko/) to get it to write out an mp3. If i use their example, i can open a 16bit WAV file via filereference and pass in that bytearray to the encoder to export an mp3... but i wanna create my own bytearray and pass it in and create the mp3. Using HxD, i copied the header and footer of that same 16bit WAV file and pasted it into flash as a bytearray but when i pass it into the encoder, it freezes the compile.. and i get the error: Error #1502: A script has executed for longer than the default timeout period of 15 seconds.

I am getting a script timeout (error #1502) when I am calling a SharePoint Web Service (CopyIntoItems) when trying to upload large files (greater than 40 MB). The error does not occur when using the Web Service for smaller files. The large files can be uploaded directly to SharePoint using the web interface therefore it is not a back-end SharePoint issue. I believe the issue has to do with the logic in the WebService Flex component, however I am not sure how to optimize it and I cannot break down the file into smaller chunks as it needs to be together in order to upload with the SharePoint field information.

It throws a #1502 error (thrown when a script runs too long) every time. If I remove the line changing the em variable, the error goes away.The class is basically (although I paraphrased for the sake of clarity):[code]

Changed AS3 defualt linkage to merged into code, and now my flash file will not load into firefox. It works fine in Chrome, but IE8 and firefox site at frame 1 of my movie, and no code is executed. Works perfectly in chrome. What do I do?the reason i changed to merged into code is because i made an imbeded preloader, and using preloader method as custom preloader loop and setting default linkage to Runtime Shared Library (RSL) borks the file.

I'm currently making my own shoot'em up game where the player can switch between two player types which will fire their own bullet type in this case, squares and circles. I've setup the player switch function via pressing "space" button (switching between the two player types) and the default bullet type is "squares" and I'm not sure to approach the coding with changing the bullet type to "circles".I've written 2 classes for the bullet and player setup:Player Class: Creates instance of bullet on screen and enables the switch player type function
Bullet Class: Enables bullet properies and bullet types Player Class: Code:function onKeyDown(event:KeyboardEvent):void {if (event.keyCode == 32) //// pressing/holding "space bar" to function

I'm trying to make my platform game character shoot a gun, my character and gun are one movieclip and the bullet is another. The bullet mc starts on a blank frame with a stop() function, when I press the space bar the bullet mc plays from frame 2 which is a motion tween of the bullet quickly moving across the page. I've set the bullet's y and x values relative to the character mc so that the bullet always comes from the gun.
My issue is that if I press the space bar a bullet will fly out of the gun (great!) but if I press the space bar again, the first bullet disappears and the bullet animation starts again. I want to be able to shoot a new bullet every time I press the space bar without effecting the bullets that have already been shot.

I have been getting the following error occasionally when running my flash file.Error #1502: A script has executed for longer than the default timeout period of 15 seconds.at Sr_fla::CenterTemperature_10/frame2()After the error occurs I can dismiss it and the error will not reoccur unless the flash file is closed and reopened - even though I am running the same code over and over.I have traced out all of my loops and feel confident there is not and infinite loop.I read a note on the forums that mentioned this error can occur when a large calculation takes place.I am doing some semi-complex calculations. Maybe that is the cause. Below I have posted some snippets of code from my work. Essentially I have a script which tests a variable (CenterTemperature) to make sure it is within certain bounds.Then a looping movieclip reads the variable and scales another movieclip accordingly.[code]

Which one is more efficient? Or is there even a noticeable difference? I did tests of a circle moving closer to a square and stopping when hitTestPoint returns true. The square was at 0 and the circle was at 500. My first test I did using hitTestPoint the entire time, my second test I did by checking the distance (Pythagorean Theorem way) and if it's below 50 then check with hitTestPoint.
I compared the FPS of each test but they were the same at 30 FPS with 200 circles and at 11-12 FPS with 500 circles. I thought the first test would be slower because I was testing every pixel the entire time while the second test I was only calculating the distance for the most part before testing every pixel.

I'm having problems getting a hitTestPoint to run properly. It keeps throwing the same error no matter what I try. 1120: Access of undefined property mouseX.
I need the mc (thumbs) to fade in and once it has faded check to see if the mouse is over it in order to trigger other code. I need to run the test as soon as the tween is over regardless if there is/isn't a mouse event, which is why you'll see my attempts at using the ENTER_FRAME event.Here is the offending code:
ActionScript Code:
TweenLite.to(thumbs, 1.5, {alpha: 1, onComplete:checkMouse});

I am making a platform game in flash. I have a goal class (the class which contains code for the goal sprite, where when you hit it, it continues to next part of game). Inside the goal constructor, 2 event listeners are added, they are as follows:
addEventListener(Event.ADDED, beginClass);
addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, eFrame);
The beginClass function is fine, and only runs once, but eFrame is what checks if the player has hit the goal, so it is constantly running. The problem is, once the player hits the goal, eFrame continues to run, while in a menu describing the next scene to the player. My eFrame function is below.
private function eFrame(event:Event):void{
if(hitTestObject(_root.mcMain)){
var lastScore:int = _root.mainScore;
_root.mainScore = lastScore;
while (_root.lvlHolder.numChildren > 0) {
[Code] .....
Frames 2, 3, 4, are frames with just text and a button that display a message to the player, and then the player hits continue. My problem is that eFrame is still trying to be run, but the class has not been instantiated, and the method is causing extreme amounts of lag once the player continues.

I'm pretty new to Flex. Basically, anything I try to build with mxmlc fails to run now, giving me the above three errors depending on what I do. It was working 30 minutes ago, I've been spending that time trying to figure out what has changed. I redownloaded the Flex SDK, cleared my assetcache, have cleared Firefox's cache. (I'm using Linux.) Even if I compile with -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries=false, since it seems like #2048 is a RSL problem, it still refuses to run.
Another strange thing, if I keep
<policy-file-url>[URL]>
<rsl-url>textLayout_1.0.0.595.swz</rsl-url>
In my flex-config file, then firebug tells me that my swf file is trying to access a copy of that in the app's folder, giving error 2032. And if I stick the one I have in frameworks/rsls/ then it gives me error 2046. I don't know how it could not be properly signed, unless Adobe magically changed a signature and didn't update their flex SDK.

So, I've been working on this for a few days and what drives me nuts is this is a simple file with a lot of simple script and I still can't figure out what this error is and how to fix it: Property 0 not found on flash.text.TextField and there is no default value The script below what we're looking at, everything is drawn with AS3, there are no library objects (save for the font). I sort of understand what the error is saying, but I don't fully understand it or how to fix it.

Edit: I've searched through similar problems, but couldn't find a proper solution.
