my code somehow manages to say that the result of 66.6 + 33.3 = 99.89999999999999
It might be possible in some alternate universe, but here on earth, I should get a result of 99.9... I'm really hoping one of you can explain to me why Flash returns that result, cause really, I'm at a loss here... this line:
ActionScript Code:
var int_tmp:Number = int((nbUserArray[t]/nbUserTotal)*100*10)/10;
I made sure the values are the correct ones, plus the traces confirm that the first time, it equals 66.6 and the second time it equals 33.3. So really, I don't understand how it can return this... monster of a result .
I have an HTTPService that executes the dataLoaded(e:ResultEvent):void function whenever it gets a result from a send() call. OK so If I call HTTPService.send() and then call HTTPService.send() again before the previous one receives a result, I end up repeatedly running dataLoaded() which is undesirable What I want is if HTTPService.send() gets called before a previous call to it returns a result. I want to cancel the first call, and only process the result from the last call to HTTPService.send()
I have a load file and a write to file method. We all know what they do. How ever load always returns true and write always returns false....Right there you know somethings wrong. Because The forums have an issue with me posting code...I posted it here: [URL] Based on this code what is the issue here? why is write always returning false and why is load always returning true? (even for files that do not exist). My understanding is that if flash cannot find the file it should write to it will create it and if it cant load said file, then that method should return false.
I'm having with a menu navigation system. I'm using Flash MX. I have created a menu system for the site I'm building ([URL]) where one of the buttons "Choose photographer" drops down a list of names. All the other buttons just jump to another page. The drop down is currently using tweens also the logo moves to the left as the dropdown appears and returns when the dropdown returns. All working fine apart from its a bit jerky.
It's I just wanted to get away from tweening and use action scripts instead, as I'm a newbie to all things Flash I trawled the net for tutorials and examples so that I could cobble together the exact same effect. I have managed to get the drop down work and return using the action script and it does seem smoother and works slightly better. But can I get the logo to move to the left and back in time with the drop down...no.
I have coded a map that when a province object is clicked on, it should move to the center of the screen and grow a percentage of the width, along with displaying a number of different things.
The problem is that in order for the image to resize it needs to be clicked on twice. It moves, and all of the children display just as they were designed to do, but the resize doesn't work on the first click.
menuItem4_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick); public function onClick(mc:MouseEvent):void { menuItem4_mc.width = width * .65;
I want to create a very simple game for school. The user chooses answers based on questions, at the end the software presents some choices to the player based upon what they said. They have to choose food they like to eat, and the game tells them about the diet, they have 9 choices.
I wonder how I should keep track of what they player chose, and how to come up with the result based upon those choices. I made it with a score, so each answer had a value, but various arrangements of answers had the same score.
I am new in flash actionscript... I am just starting to learn...How can I send variables from my flash project to PHP and get the resulting values back???
I have a site that has a button on it and someone did a little javascript so that each time you click the button you go to a randomly selected URL from an array of links. Now, I was told to give my flash button the same functionality. I'm not really a coder, so instead of re-inventing the wheel, I'm trying to get the result of the javascript into my action script. So far, I'm completely unlucky.
private function getFriends(thisSession:Facebook):void { getFr = new GetFriends(); var thisCall:FacebookCall; thisCall = thisSession.post(getFr); [Code] .....
I have an AJAX web service call that returns a chunk of HTML that I then apply to a DIV element on my page.This works fine for any html element except a flash video which comes up with 'Movie not loaded'.I've double-checked the html that is being returned and it's all fine, and it works if I don't use AJAX, but when I use AJAX and then add it using JS it doesn't seem to attempt to load the playlist.
I'm currently working on a Flash application that has a sibling AIR equivalent. From inside the Flash application I would like to install the sibling AIR App. Adobe has provided an air.swf (which is also used in the Badge sample) to aid us with the install. I've managed to mimic the behavior of the Badge app butgetApplicationVersion always returns null. Note that I do not have a publisherId. Here's the documentation provided by Adobe: Installing and running an AIR applications from a web page
Air application XML: < id >MyAirApplication< /id > ...
I'm running the latest build (I'm pretty sure it's 1.0) on Ubuntu and I am calling a function on an amfphp service on another server. Everything seems to be in order, but I am getting a strange return value using the following code:
String url = "http://path.to.our.server/gateway.php"; RemotingClient client = new RemotingClient(url); Object[] args = new Object[]{"Hello world!"}; Object result =client.invokeMethod("service.manager.say", args); if(debug) System.out.println("return from server: "+result.toString());
For For some reason, I'm not getting any result returned to me when uploading a file to my server. I'm using a php script, the file gets sent, gets uploaded, but I can't get the return result.
I am firing these event listeners: fileRef.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, fileRef_progress); fileRef.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, fileRef_complete);
I'm trying to set an array collection equal to a event.result that contains an array collection, but my array collection keeps coming up null. The event.result isn't empty because I can assign it as the dataprovider for a datagrid and that works (shows data correctly)[code]...
I need to make a counter that will increase with 9 every second starting point at = 1440836946 Another thing is that I need it to save the the result to view when next time.
I am trying to call a method that has some xml functionality and It keeps coming up null.What I am trying to do is; I have a page that has four dynamic text fields that get their content from an xml file. I would like to create a method that will output the contents to display in the dynamic field. Maybe my approach is WAY off here, but my supervisor wants all xml related tasks contained in a xml.as fileMain.as
I have developed a flex application (Flex 4.5.1).I want the flex application to be used only by the domain names that I allow. As soon as the application is loaded, I check with the remote database if the domain name is valid.
The problem is that flash player only returns the domain name of the user's machine. What I want is the domain name of the website that the flex application is part of. For instance, if the webpage I browse for my flash application is[url]...., I need [url]...or [url].... Is that possible? Every method I have tried only returns the name of the website visitor's computer.
I'm creating a Flash IRC client for a project, and it works fine locally. However, when I place the SWF on a server it returns the #2048 error. I've tried to load in a policy file with no luck.
I'm an actionscript beginner and am trying to create a flash file with a button that allows to user to swith from viewing my movie in their browser, to viewing it full screen.I've managed to source some code from the net, and although when I click my 'toggle button' the full screen works perfectly...when I click it again the flash file returns to the original browser window but I dont see my movie - just my back ground fill colour.The code I have is as follows (and is placed on frame 01 of my actions layer)
fullScreenButton.onPress=function() { if (Stage.displayState=="fullScreen")[code].....
I'm getting the geolocation data of a viewer and creating a textfield to display this data (city,state). After the data is pulled the text is measured to fit in the textbox and if the length of the city is too long, the text is adjusted in size to fill the textfield. When I trace the end result of the final text size, I keep getting the (same) trace result outputted infinitely.
[Code]...
It worked, but I needed the text box to be made according to what data was pulled from the geolocation xml, so I added it in the geolocation script.
I am using a service that returns JSON (geonames.org) and I'm putting the result in an array and dumping it to a datagrid. Now that works fine for one city like this [URL].. However, I want to call this service multiple times with different city names, so I created an XML list ad figured I would iterate over the city list and get the results.
My question is how do I do this such that 1) all the lists are combined into one arraycollection and 2) this seems like I will have to chain the calls and wait for results which may or may not come back, so I thought I would ask the group about the best practice, and or resources to read and examples to build from.
MCtext is a collection of text with frame labels. It's labeled as MCtext
The menu buttons tell MCtext to play the frame label as the button clicked. This *used to work*, but Flash was laggy as hell so I updated it. Now the same code returns #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at MCmenu/itemClicked()
Code: function itemClicked(butn:Event):void { parent.MCtext.gotoAndPlay(SomeArray[butn.currentTarget.label); }
I've tried just using a frame number, but still the same #1009
I've tried the Script Assist to target the MC on the stage: using root.MCtext... still the same #1009 using this.MCtext... returns a #1010
I have to work with a .fla file. I would like to rewrite this file in AS3. Is it possible? I mean, I would get a .swf file as result of compilation of mxml file in Flash Builder 4 IDE, not Flash CS5 (I don't know CS5, I'm a newbie) . Main target is getting a .swf file by compilation of mxml file, not fla file. Could you explain in detail how this code works? For example what's TXT ? Is it a inputText? Where is this variable defined? Now I 'm linking .fla file ....
