I used a scrollbar component out of my Flash Library for a text field. It worked with no problems in the swf file . However, when I checked out my html file in my browser the thumb in the scrollbar was gone making it unusable.I built a new scrollbar from scratch and everything works again in both the swf and html.
View 2 Replieseveryone out there that is smarter than me. I have made this little prototype video player, and it isn't working. It'll eventually become a nice little player show videos from our summer camp for the last few years, but first I want to make it work in a basic stripped down version. There is a playback component with one of the skins right above the three buttons.

Everything seems to look ok at first but then i noticed that if you release the scroll button before the end of the text and you try to scroll again the scrollbar will not show the entire text... well it's not easy to explain so i'll attach the fla.[URL]..It doesn't always happen.. sometimes you have to release the scroll more than once and drag it again.

The video loads and plays fine and the controls appear but you cant click on anything like you can when you assign the skin in the parameters. It is a default Flash skin. At first I thought it was due to the video layer being under a mask, so I moved it on top and it didnt change anything.

I've looked into "domWindow", but that seems to only return Javascript.

There is a number of Flash and AJAX based uploaders around. I need a file upload component for an existing form in an existinc application, so I have very specific requirements for it. Maybe somebody knows one off the top of their head and saves me a lot of research.
I need a file upload component that has a progress bar and "upload" button next to it (= standalone functionality, no connection to the submit event of a surrounding form).
It should be either Flash or Prototype based. No JQuery or Moo, as the app runs with prototype.
If server-side scripting is needed, it must be PHP. No Perl, no ASP.
On successful upload, I need a custom Javascript function triggered. (I need to update a file list that is displayed on the same page.)
The possibility of filtering file names before upload (no Umlauts, spaces..) would be a plus.
I will try to give this question a bounty in a minute if I'm allowed to.

I am building a website through flash. For the past couple of weeks all of the links have been working fine up until now. I have no idea what I could have possibly done to make this happen. In HTML none of the links work. They are all linked up fine, I even re-linked some of them. Nothing happens. The buttons do nothing.

Flash is being used to create an animated button, and the anchor tag makes it so you can click on that to go to another page. On most browsers, you can click anywhere on the Flash object and the link works...but in Chrome, the link displays in the status bar when you hover over the flash element, but does nothing when you click it. However, there is a small area (about 19px) below the flash element where the link works.
How can I get this to behave the same way in Chrome as it is in other browsers?

I have a html file which has flash in it. The flash has few buttons on it. WHen i just click on the html page, the flash works. However, when i get into the html file from other pages, which i use action script getURL to link it. The html file show the flash but the buttons in it is not working.

I'm experiencing problems with HTML tags within textfields (multiline textfields). HTML rendering is activated. Fonts are embedded for bold and regular Verdana. In AS3 I also have declared the field as html (instancename.htmlText = "tekst".Now I have all my html code in a sql database which load through php. The whole text loads including the bold, underlined and italic htmltext make up.The problem is that the text on line 1 shows as:"8: you must click ok" (<b>8:</b> you must click ok<br>)But the text on line 2 shows as:" : submitting" (<b>9:</b> thanks for submitting <br>)I have checked the html tags over and over and there is no fault in that.

View 5 RepliesI have a presentation that I created for a client. The presentation is supposed to work locally on anyone's computer. It works perfect on mine. On the client's three computers, 2 pc and 1 mac the links inside flash do not work. I have a text field with text and a simple link inside like [URL] and it's going to a blank window. These won't even pop up a window for my client on any computer, why? He has the lastest Flash players and we created an html link below the flash movie in the html page just to make sure he could launch a popup that way and the html link below the flash movie worked fine.

actually i have an image gallery in a seperate HTML page, I want to embed it into the main html page containing the menu, but even after using the code <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> or <param name="wmode" value="opaque"> the submenu is still hiding behind the flash. I also tried by changing z-index values, still didn't work.

I feel like I'm walking into a brain surgery symposium to get help opening a box of Band-Aids...I've tried pretty hard to find tutorials about this but no luck. I'm the densest person who's ever dared to start up Flash. I'm making a scheduling utility for students in my online classes, and I went out and found a "Date Picker" component which looks nice. I've downloaded it, but I can't get Flash CS4 to recognize it no matter what I do. The picker came from [URL]
First issue - there are a several different downloads. One contains only a file called Datepicker-v4.4.1.swc with a red envelope icon, the other is version 4.2 (I don't really care which version I end up with). The 4.2 yields a directory containing

I tried to do that, but my directory structure doesn't correspond to that path very well. (I don't have a Local Settings directory, first of all.) Looking for something analogous on my WinXP/CS4 machine I ended up at C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Flash CS4enConfiguration. That didn't have a Components directory so I made one, dropped DatePicker.swc into it, and nothing seemed to happen. (By that I mean, I started Flash, created an AS3 Flash file and opened the components palette, and nothing DatePicker-like was there.)
