I have an Air Application that uses a HTML Component. The HTML page that the component is rendering includes images with title tags. The tags render fine outside the Air Application, but when run in the AIR application, they do not render.
I am designing a web application in Flex 4 and currently facing an issue rendering advanced HTML tags and entities in Flex 4. All I want to do is basically render an HTML text coming to me something like the one given below:-
-1 large html (home.html) file houses 2 html files (aaa.html and bbb.html) -aaa.html consists of 1 swf button -bbb.html is empty
question: is it possible to click on the button in aaa.html and have the action occur in bbb.html? (for example, clicking the button in aaa.html will load a swf in bbb.html)
I've seen a site a while back that as you went through it it would change the url without reloading the page/swf. I want to know how do you build a Flash banner and buttons and as they the movie plays or they click on buttons have it change the url and the html text but leave the swf playing? Can this be achieved without too much hassle or will it require advanced coding?
Ive got some external HTML text being fed into flash, all I want to do is to edit the
tag in the HTML (not CSS) so the bullets sit flush to the left with the rest of the text, thats it! is there something i can put in the HTML that will resolve this such as:
I have a website that I have to alter the
tag that shows up in the browser as the sites name through using Flash as3 and xml. I was wondering how to access the
tag so that I can create a variable in flash, that retrieves whatever string is within the
tag of the current xml document that is being accessed? All pages need to have the same title, so it doesn't need to be too complicated, I just need to be able to alter the tag through xml and as3.
I made a movieclip that has 3 plain color thumbnails and 1 image thumbnail pop up when my "change theme" button is clicked. I can't figure out how to go about changing the background color/image when the appropriate thumbnail is clicked. I know I need to set up an addeventlistener, but I don't know where to go from there. Maybe I need to have Flash load a new CSS file for every thumbnail clicked?
When I originally made this flash, I created a button to access a web page that I had uploaded to my university server.
Now I'm attempting to compile all my webpages and flash to a CD for portfolio purposes and am having trouble redirecting the button to access the html in an adjacent folder to where the flash is stored.
Here's an example of the original button AS:
on(release){ getURL("TheURL(sorry I can't post links)", "_blank"); }
I have two flash pages, one black and one green, and I need the html background color to change accordingly. What I think I need to do is code the button to change the b/g color.
I've been following this tutorial so far: [URL]
but for some reason it's not working.
It might be a securities issue, it opens up the page asking me if I want to run the JS. When I click 'yes' it opens up the page but the background color is the same. So while it opens the page it might not be running the script?
or, I'm not putting the JS in the right area of the html code. Right now I'm putting it after the first
.
Is java script my only option? a friend mentioned using css, but I have nothing to go off of as to how to make that work.
Beginner question here to which I haven't found an answer to: I have an external XML document loading within flash and was wondering if it it's possible to change a frame/label from withing HTML rendered content using getURL?
This is probably not possible, but is there a suitable method for doing so when it comes to loading external content and controlling the timeline?
I need to develop a site with a navigation SWF file that changes the content of an HTML page, WITHOUT reloading itself and thus losing its current state. What I think I need to do to have smooth transitions, is keep the same swf file loaded, while having it change the page content below it.
I have some complex html content to include in the pages that is not supported by the tags available in Flash's dynamic text boxes. I have considered the idea of iframes, but I don't know how to load iframes using flash, or how to use them without refreshing the page.
my website has a flash menu that is a little bit annoying to see reloading everytime people hit a button. So i would like to set the buttons action to send a javascript variable or something like that. This way the html content, above the flash could change with a javascript include which would use this variable to know what page should be included... something like that. I don't know how to do this (flash to javascript and the use the variable to include a page content)

I'm creating a HTML Component in Flex, loading a URL and then capturing that element and converting it to a bitmap to try and replicate a sort of automatic screenshot saving process. However the bitmaps that it is producing do not contain any flash elements from the HTML.
I have a window on my Flash stage that has some scrollable copy in it. The problem is, I can't seem to have any formatting for the text ... if I select a word or two to make bold, it all turns bold. I gather I need to use the "Display Text as HTML" checkbox and then paste in some HTML formatted text but this doesn't seem to work. I searched this forum and found that others were designating "htmlText" in Actionscript instead of just "text" ... that didn't work either. I probably just did it wrong, or maybe it's becuase I'm using the UI component "UIscrollBar" for it's scrolling of the text.
Is there anything else I need to do to be able to format some text with strong tags and maybe some href links?
I have my properties inspector with the following check marks:
I'm trying to do to familiarize myself with flash. I'm loading an external XML document into a Flash AS2 project using the XMLComponent. I'm able to get everything to display properly within my lists except for my hyperlinks.
I've enclosed my hyperlinks in the XML document using the hyperlink. Once the movie launches.....the full URL tags are being displayed: (eg. Google )
My hyperlinks are in there own seperate List component.
I've actaully got all of this working. All I need now is to make the comboBox text HTMLtext so that I can use the HTML tags to color the text different colors or bold them.It might be important to mention that I need to change only some of the things listed, not the entire list. So if my list on the comboBox is "item 1", "item 2", "item 3", "item 4", I only want "item 1" in bold and colored red.
I want to show PDF in Flex AIR. I have done this with HTML components but the problem is that whenever I view the PDF in Flex HTML component the popup or Alert goes behind the component.
Yet another simple project I'm trying to do to familiarize myself with flash. I'm loading an external XML document into a Flash AS2 project using the XMLComponent. I'm able to get everything to display properly within my lists except for my hyperlinks.

I am new to flash and decided to start out using templates to gain a beter understanding. I grabbed a template - that when I went to save it said it was an MX version - once I began to make changes in it re-save and publish it I noticed that some of the elements were missing. I thought it was something I did so I copied the entire directory and just opened the .fla and saved it without making a change and then published it and the items were gone again. I saved it in the same directory only changing the output .swf file and used all of the same html files
I'm using AS2 in Flash CS3.I have a TextArea component in the stage that's loading its text from an XML and I've been able to use the ul and li tags to create lists. However, when I try to include a nested list it just inserts a line break between the nested list and the main list rather than indent it further. Is there a solution for this issue?Failing that, how would I be able to add non-breaking spaces into the XML so they will render inside the TextArea component? I've tried and without success. I scoured the net for some help with this and found some information about modifying the font embedding xml file with a new entry for the non-breaking space and that didn't work either, so that leaves me somewhat stumped.
I used a scrollbar component out of my Flash Library for a text field. It worked with no problems in the swf file . However, when I checked out my html file in my browser the thumb in the scrollbar was gone making it unusable.I built a new scrollbar from scratch and everything works again in both the swf and html.
I'm loading a webpage inside a HTML component in AIR. By default, when something is clicked the next page is loaded inside the HTML component itself. I want the links from that page to open in an external web browser.
Following embed code is from [URL] but it doesn't work in Internet Explorer 8. Firefox no problems. Any recommendations for improvements?
[Code]....
UPDATE 2010-05-14: If I'm not mistaken HD.se uses Flowplayer and all those flasvars are for that. Perhaps someone here is good with Flowplayer? I've never used it myself.
