ActionScript 3.0 :: Forcing The Display Size Of An External Swf On The Stage?

I want to have different buttons at different points in the timeline which load and play external swf videos. These swfs would ideally be displayed on the stage at the actual height and width of the video rather than in a new window.The swf files themselves will be generated using a third party video player, which wraps itself around an external FLV creating a nice self-contained swf video player (the generated swf contains the player and the video).
The problem is that the third-party video player i'm using ALWAYS displays the loaded swf at the full size of the stage and not the actual size of the swf video. So when the user hits the button to load and play the video, the swf video fills the stage leaving the user no way back to the website.Also if I use _blank to open it in a new window, it fill the entire browser window.Is it possible to force the width and height at which an external swf is displayed on the stage and if so could some guru give me a code sample to use? It doesn't need to be dynamic according to the swf dimensions, as these will be the same for all videos.Below is the code I'm using at this point to call the swf:-

..it compiles but I don't see the swf at all, whereas if I don't set the width and height it appears. I've changed the width and the height within these variables but the swf never displays unless I remove swfwidth and swfheight from my code.

I have an external swf I am loading. It is a text scroller, and part of the way it works is that it moves the text up or down off the top or bottom of the stage when it scrolls.Unfortunately when I load it in a master swf, the guts of the thing are showing through, spilling outside of the intended boundaries of the included swf. (i.e. outside the included swf's stage height).
What i try to do, is to make a "wrapper" in Flash, in which other swfs could be embedded. (passing the URL of the external SWF by URL) to attach a link to the swfs. (ClickTag - Issue, maybe someone knows this).In the HTML - Code this would look like this:
The SWF "wrapper.swf" should load the "path-to-external-swf.swf" an puts a onClick - Event on the whole area.That works just fine, BUT The loaded external SWF should always fit to the stage size (like 100% width and 100% height) .My code looks like this:

I'm trying to get an object to increase in size the lower it goes down the stage, and decrease in size the high it moves up the stage.
It only needs to increase or decrease by a small amount. Basically, it's for a game character. To ad realism to his movements, it would be nice to have this feature.
Here is my problem (unfortunatelly didn't find solution @google or in this forum): I'm loading external swf[AS2] into main swf[AS3] using Loader class. The main swf is 800 x 600 and the external swf is 290 x 247. After adding the external swf to the main swf the external swf expands (scale to) from 290 x 247 to the main swf's size: 800 x 600. How can i prevent this? I want the loaded swf to save it's original stage size.
I am loading the SWF just fine, but I want the SWF to fit the root stage exactly. What happens instead is that the external SWF seems to include white space from around itself.
For example, the author-set width of the Tanks game (an example file I was using) is 550px, but when I set the width of loadEvent.currentTarget.content.width to 550px, the game is resized to maybe 350px width. I have to set the value of loadEvent.currentTarget.content.width to something like 640 in order to get the game itself to make full use of those 550 pixels.
I have CS4 with AS3. I hard-coded values for cWidth and cHeight instead of getting them from flashvars because I am just testing in the IDE right now. Normally I would get those vars from flashvars.

handling global keyboard events in Flex, is to attach a listener in the application complete event of a Flex application. However, no matter what I try, I have not been able to catch events without clicking on a point on the page, which is hosting my Flex application. Moreoever, if I use a Flex component in a web application, where there is also html and Javascript, I'd still like to be able to grap global keyboard events, even if the embedded flex component (in flash player) does not have focus. So is there a reliable method for connecting flex applications and components (when they're embedded in a web page) to keyboard events?
I'm working on a slideshow where I'm calling in photos from an xml file. How do I tell AS to resize the stage according to photo dimensions? Would I need to list the dimensions in the xml file? If so, how would I pull that into the fla file with AS?

I have a library swf (asset.swf), it's document class binded to Asset.as, and in the Constructor function of Asset,[code]as known to all, we cannot visit the stage attribute before the display object added to the stage.so, when my loader.swf try to load asset.swf, it throws exception and the loading come to failure is there some one tell me how to load the asset.swf? I cannot modify the asset.swf.
I am testing parts of an application as actionscript-only and then merge them into a flash project.[code]things align perfectly. When I do the same in flash, s1.height is 0 and objects sit on top of each other?
I found this tutorial: [URL]. It works great but I wanted to add a little more to it. Currently it works with only one item displayed at a time. If I want to display more than one item, let say 2, I make the mask the size of the 2 items. The back button works fine because the X position is still the the same. However the next button does not account for the size of the mask and works like it did before.
I've got the following file reference listener on a file to upload art for display on a flash movie. However, I want this to display only at a certain size. I tried the "easy way", but this ends up sizing down my whole movie. Where should I insert the code to get the uploaded file to show on my flash movie only to a certain height and width? I need to increase my buffer size in FMS. My video is running from RTMP and I faces the problem to load. Video stalled between the running. So I need to increase buffer size for running video smoothly.
The problem is that even though this external movie covers the whole stage, My mouse can still "see" buttons that are on the stage, and I can click them. I don't want to be able to click the buttons through my external movie.
[URL]regarding this tutorial I started my site [URL] to get some trasition effects but im getting somewhat different since the external SWFs take time to load. isn't it better to create "intro and outro" on the same time line instead of loading external SWFs bcos once the movie loaded as a whole will lead to smooth and contineous transitions.
I have created a flash project in CS5 and I have set the size of the stage to 500 x 400. When I view it in the flash player as the swf it plays fine. What I want to be able to do is get the swf file to fill the screen with the image no matter what size the end user scales the window of the Flash player too.
i have a bit of a problem with a number var. On opening stage (875 px) the var value is 368; when i resize the stage i need the var to grow till 578 max.
I'm using Flash CS3 and wish to create a movie where the stage is a certain size but the actual content of the movie extends further than the stage. The user will be able to drag the stage from left to right to show hidden parts of the movie. Similar to the idea of a horizontal scrolling image gallery but without the scrollbar (see attached for example image).
I am doing one completely dynamic interface which is control by an admin module. what i want to do is to control the stage size by this admin module.When i press submit in the admin module it will generate one xml file which is connected to the flash flie, and what ever the size is mention in that xml that has to reflect in that flash file. I don't want any supporting file only one swf. I don't know whether it is possible to adjust the stage size dynamically on fly.
I've been making some banners for my company to be sent to certain profesional magazines. While checking the swfs, we noticed that, when opend directly on a web browser (as swf standalone), it (a) shows all the elements, including those outside stage and (b) gets resiced depending on the screen size.Is there a way to prevent this happening? I mean, is there a scripting/non scripting way to force the swf size to stage size and nothing else so that we don't show anything we shound't?
I want to read width and height from XML and then change the stage size based on these numbers in an EXE file of Flash. Imagine the main size of flash application is for example 1024 x786. I write a code which interact with user as touch screen and all startup data(like image file names and key coordination) come from an XML file. My problem is, for different PCs, I must set the size of application manually. Some touch screens have different ratios like 1280 * 400! The only way is set the stage size on startup the application butstage.staheWidthandstage.stageHeightdont change anything for me.
