Mar 26, 2009I have a window component on my main timeline that gets called up on several instances. When the popup window appears, everything looks fine, except that the user can still click on links that are now behind the actual popup window itself. My question is how do I keep those buttons from being active while the popup window is active?

Dec 11, 2004I'm building this game, and it was working fine, until I used the menuBar component. It's not code related, 'cause i've commented out the script that does things with the menuBar. If I drag the MenuBar component from the component window, onto my Stage , the game refuses to work. If I deleet it (but keep it IN my library), it still doesn't work!. But if I turn the export settings of the MenuBar off, it works! The classes that i'm using for my game are called Node.as, JawBreaker.as The class I want to use to do something with the menuBar is called GameMenu.as (but that doesn't matter, since I commented the calling of that class out).

Jan 16, 2007I had a question Yesterday, and posted in the Flash 8 Section of this forum...well, I have a question now...When I open a Window Component(with a movie clip inside it ...ofcourse) via Popup Manager from the Menu Component, the Window opens up, but I can't go back to the menu and open it. So DVD interface will contain three elements; user manual, a flash exe file and video.. Flash video window will be short-time video, playing like 5-10 seconds then repeats itself... Mar 13, 2011So I have this AIR app coded in flex where I have several floating native windows and what I want is to detect when a user clicks outside of a window so that I can close it. (I don't want to use the PopupManager Class and would want to use the native windows).
My question is, is there a way to detect a click outside of a spark window, or alternativley is there some root container/object which is a parent to all the native windows so that a click inside any native window would bubble up to it? (Apparently the stage object of the root windowed application is not that object since each window is not a child of the stage for the root application).

Flash :: POST To Opened Javascript Window And Have Close The Window
Nov 30, 2011I created a Flash application that reads POST data from a form. A user clicks the button, and the data gets posted to the flash app in a new window (_blank). Now takes the data and then spins a wheel to give users a prize. If they don't win a message pops up letting them know they didn't win. If they don't win, clicking the OK button needs to close the browser window.
I've tried a number of solutions and it seems that the only way to get this done is to launch the window with javascript and then use ExternalInterface.call('window.close'); to close the window from within the Flash actionscript (3) because otherwise the window won't close (I've tried just using window.close and window.close() with no luck)
I understand how to launch a new window with javascript, but I don't know how to simultaneously launch and POST data to that window (the Flash application has to have the POST data. Is this the best solution? Is there a way to close a browser window easier than what I'm describing?[URL]

Sep 25, 2009I'm trying to create a pop up window in Flash which also fades the background window to 75% black. When the user closes the pop up window, I'd like for the parent window to un-fade back to normal. Is this possible? I can do the first half of it and make the background window fade to 75% black. The difficult thing is making it fade back to normal when the user closes the pop up window.My thoughts are that I need to attach some code to the browser's built in close window button. It might require some javascript or a fscommand. I'm not sure.

Try resizing the window and you'll notice that the background is vector and it looks like the scale mode is set to "showAll". BUT, the photos look like they have a separate scale mode set to "noScale". They don't resize.

Flash Media Encoder is outputting at 320x240 and the FLV component on the stage is 150x112. The fullscreen button maximizes to the entire screen leaving the 320x240 video stream pixelated and distorted. I want a button to make the FLV component only go 320x240 in a popup window.

Flex :: Resizing The Restore-window Of A Maximized Window
Aug 11, 2009I have a window, the window I programmatically change the size of the window depending on the current view it is displaying. The user cannot resize the window them self, but they can maximize the window.
The problem is if the view is changed while it is maximized, the maximized window size changes, I do not want this, I want it to only change the size of the non-maximized window.
My first thought is to just check if the window is maximized, and if so do not resize it...but the issue there is then when it is restored at a different view then when it was maximized it will not restore to the new size it should be.
Actionscript 3 :: Air Native Window Active Window Change?
Oct 6, 2011I have a Adobe Air app (AS3, not Flex) that has 2 windows. When I click away from them onto another desktop program, I get an "Deactivate" Event (as you would expect).When I click on say Window#1 I get an "Activate" Event (as you would expect).But when I go from Window#1 to Window#2, I get nothing. And I believe this is because the Air application is still the active program, Just a Different Window.
But I have the need to know when I go from 1 window to another.The horrible solutions I have come up with so far is to have an onEnterFrame and check if the current window is the active window. But I would much prefer to do it a much better way that such a hack.I have gone though Stage, NativeApplication and Native Window Events and none of them do what I need. Can anyone point me to another Event I may have overlooked?
Flex :: Does An Mx:Window Component Have It's Own ApplicationComplete
Jul 17, 2011I'm working on an app that, from the Main.mxml, opens one or many Window.mxml instances. When it's done I want all windows to be chromeless so the custom controls need to work. In Main I've added applicationComplete="init();" so the init function gets ran, which contains clickhandlers, which makes the buttons work. However, this way of running an init function doesn't seem to be valid for an mx:Window. I can cheat by not using a clickhandler for the minimize and close buttons with a click="this.minimize();", but I don't know of a way like this to make the move work because it's a MOUSE_DOWN event.
Question 1: Is there a way to have such an init function in an mx:Window?
Question 2: What's a good way to make the buttons on the Window instances all work?

Oct 7, 2004The problem i have is that i want to use the ui window component (in order to keep file size down, and it just works well) but i want to use multiple windows on the stage. It was simple to get them to open with PopUpManager.createPopUp and to intialise the close button with deletePopUp(). Now heres the big but i can't get a swapdepths function to work.I have added in an event listener for the close button and the swapdepths but only one fuction will work at a time, ie i can get the swap depth to work but you can't drag the windows or close them, or you can drag and close one window but the other will not do anything until the top one is closed.i know that it's a swapdepth problem but i can't work out where to put the swapdepth in the code to make all fuctions work at once.The code is below

The output window needs to be able to print char by char in multiple colors, wrap horizontally and scroll vertically.Most of that isn't a problem with the default TextField class, but I'm having a lot of trouble getting the colors right.If I use the htmlText property and wrap each character with "<font color=000000></font>" it starts a new line each time I add text.TextFormats don't seem to work at all for some reason. I do something like this:
