I am making my exe fullscreen using stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN but it shows blank screen. When I press Esc key and back to normal screen everything is fine.

Now I have some problems with flash file.When we put the flash in asp we set the path of plugins : pluginspage="http:[url]......when we upgrade latest version of flash player (10.3.183.5), it works for the most of the flash file in my application but there is one specific flash that doesn't work.It only shows the blank black screen.

I have followed tut here [URL] and compiled with flex3.6 and flex4.6 but running swf gives a blank screen. Same program compiled with FDT 5 [URL] and runs fine. So what's missing in the command line?

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a simple Flash application to be placed on a web site. It is intended to take data from an .xml file and display it in the Flash movie. There are a number of buttons that display different nodes of the .xml file when clicked. (Not all the buttons are functional yet in this code; I know that.)It runs just fine in Flash. It even runs fine when I publish it and then run it by clicking on the html file on my computer.When I upload the html and swf files to my server, the html file works fine (gives me a solid colored background) but the swf is just a white box, nothing in it and no functionality.Something needs to be declared, imported or linked, I think, but I do not know what or how to do it. (Most irritating is the fact that the code is substantially taken from an online tutorial, with nary a word about this issue.)

View 4 RepliesIn Internet Explorer 7 and 8 (WinXP/Flash 10), if I play my videos using the JW Player in the slider they work. However if I move to the next slide and then return to the original slide the video is no longer displayed - the audio is still audible and the video can be played and paused, but there is no image.

It seems like the loading screen (more like frame) is the last thing to load, so you are stuck staring at a blank screen for a while. How can i prioritize how the game loads so that the instant you get on the page the loading screen comes up immediately?

View 1 RepliesI'm new to Adobe Flash CS4. I'm making an animation of some fish underwater. I have 2 small fish motion tweened to follow a large fish from left to right. When I view the animation in full screen the small fish seem to be wiped off the screen at a certain point. The tween box continues to follow it's path but the symbol disappears. This only seems to happen with larger objects.

Everything I've read about flex uses a remoting or http protocol to communicate with the backend via a J2EE server, so I'm not sure how that would work for a desktop app (unless an embedded j2ee server was running in the app).

The problem is that flashbuilder gives errors on:

View 2 RepliesI am trying to work out an approach to developing a desktop application that would play movies, games and various flash material such as flash games and flash flip books. The movies will be in both video format and swf format, and will need to be compressed and encrypted for transmission to users and decompressed/decrypted by our player so as not be viewable by other players. The installer would be platform / OS dependant.
The player / user interface would need to be written in a 'portable' language so it can be cross-complied to different platforms ( Windows, Linux/Android, Mac, Iphone/Ipad, ... ) If this is not possible than atleast it should work on the PC and MAC. The idea here is to ideally maintain one code base so the client will experience the same interface on each platform we support.
My questions are-
What would be the best approach to develop these applications?
Is it possible to acquire public / open source code where much of the work has already been done and then add my code to it?
If open source code is available where could I get it from?

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to play two H.264 encoded videos (.mov) within an AS3 desktop application. I have tried publishing both Air and Projector but both are having (different) problems with playback. When testing the swfs within Flash they both work fine.I'm using a simple NetStream function to play the videos from a local directory. Like I said they both run fine within Flash, so I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but have found it difficult to find documentation on streaming locally.
The Air app works best, but can't seem to play the second video. (I also have been having awful trouble getting around security issues of Air as I'm using LocalConnection in another part of the app, so would prefer not to use it).The projector starts playing both videos but very quickly starts to stutter and choke, and eventually freezes the entire app.The Adobe documentation says that it is possible to use NetStream locally, but maybe this isn't the case?
For an internship, I'm gonna have to develop a desktop application. The focus is creating a rich UI ( cool effects, sound etc ). Which tech should I go with ?
- Flash ? ( in this case, shoud I go with a flex project ? AIR ? what is the gain between this and a simple raw flash project )

Flex app posts login details (email, password) to a login action.The login action uses Zend Auth to check if the details are valid.The login action creates a unique hash (and stores it in the db somewhere along with the user's id) and returns a json object containing the hash along with the user's id to the flex app.Whenever the flex app makes requests to any action in the web app, it also sends along the user's id and the unique hash so the web app can verify the user.

View 4 RepliesI'm building an AIR desktop app with facebook support using Adobe Flash builder. So far it's working alright, except for one detail, once a user logs in, that session stays open, even if the logout button is pressed. My logout code look like so:

I set APP_ORIGIN to "[URL]". I checked Adobe's documentation and they say: appOrigin:String (default = null) ” (Optional) The site url specified for your app. Required for clearing html window cookie. But I don't know what that means, what is the 'site url specified by my app'? Where do I get it? Sorry if this is a noob question.
