I am new in Flash and Currently, I use Flash Pro CS5 to create new movies and modify old movies.
When I publish the movie I developed it comes with two white blank sides and i tried to change the Publish settings like Dimensions and Scale and publish the flash movie but the white blank sides did not disappear ?
I want that the flash movie has all the space of the dispaly window so that no white space appears when I view it in normal or maximized or full-screen view modes ?
from time to time I get feedback from my web portal customers that they cannot see Flash component on the page - instead there's a blank white region. When it happens I instruct them to clear browser cache, and it solves the issue. Is there any way to handle this differently, using HTTP headers etc.
View 1 RepliesI was editing a very basic mobile Flex project, and after I debugged the master (application) mxml file, Design View stopped working (blank screen displayed, no Design View errors) for all files. Creating new projects, either mobile or else, or testing old, working projects, doesn't work either. Out of the related issues I've found info on, most concern earlier versions of the IDE, and deal with either Design View errors (got none), use of certain functions or custom components (I get the error even on a new project), or are solved by changing styles back-and-forth (tried already, to no avail).
I can't drag and drop components to the design area, either (a "prohibited" symbol appears and nothing happens when I drop); so I'm pretty sure it's not code-related or a bug, but probably something stupid, like a configuration issue, so I definitely need someone to take a fresh look at it.
I am making my exe fullscreen using stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN but it shows blank screen. When I press Esc key and back to normal screen everything is fine.

View 2 RepliesI created a flash project using flash 10, action script 3 for a widget on my site:URL...I have a counter on the front page and a count generated when the flash project calls it's xml file.I am seeing that for every 10 people that visit my site, only 1 person is loading the widget.What would you suggest for maximum visibility for my widget? Or which version of flash should I have written for.
View 2 RepliesShould bring up a login when you go to that site. However in Chrome It seems to be loading something and then I just get a blank white screen. Sometimes it loads but if you then hit refresh it will bring you to a blank white screen instead of reloading. Also interestingly if you are staring at the white screen, if you double click, click drag click around alot on the page it will come up kind of like its there but not being displayed. this problem only displayed in Chrome -- IE, Firefox, safarii etc. Perhaps my HTML is bad? I can't believe that because when I use the raw-HTML output from a publish in CS5 It is still giving me this behavior? Also others have had this problem with my site so it isn't just my browser/computer combo.

View 3 RepliesI am trying to work out an approach to developing a desktop application that would play movies, games and various flash material such as flash games and flash flip books. The movies will be in both video format and swf format, and will need to be compressed and encrypted for transmission to users and decompressed/decrypted by our player so as not be viewable by other players. The installer would be platform / OS dependant.
The player / user interface would need to be written in a 'portable' language so it can be cross-complied to different platforms ( Windows, Linux/Android, Mac, Iphone/Ipad, ... ) If this is not possible than atleast it should work on the PC and MAC. The idea here is to ideally maintain one code base so the client will experience the same interface on each platform we support.
My questions are-
What would be the best approach to develop these applications?
Is it possible to acquire public / open source code where much of the work has already been done and then add my code to it?
If open source code is available where could I get it from?
Not sure why this is happening but everytime I test a movie (CTRL+ENTER) in Flash movie it produces a blank white screen. I even created a new Flash file with a simple Shape but it still gives me that blank white screen when I run test movie. It does, however, run correctly when I click the *.swf that got generated. I'm not sure if my work recently upgraded me to a newer version of Flash Player.

The problem is that once the SWF (intro) finishes, there is a short gap (blank white page) before the actual HTML site loads. Is there a way around this? I am using Flash CS5 and when I exprt my file to swf I notied that after exporting and playing it in Flash player (on my desktop) I can change the size of the window and the scene itself eventthough I have set the width and height dimension to e.g. 468x60.
So, the bad thing is that if I ahve some objects that are moving from this area and in banner I do not see them in flash player I can see all which is not good.
Is there a setting in export option to disable this behavior or some actionscript, so my client will not be able see the "mess-behind-the-scenes" :)?
I can probably remove some objects using actionscript, however if I have looping background image it is necessary to be bigger than 468px In my case 3x.

View 1 RepliesI have a WP 3.0.2 site. When I try to embed a swf file I have uploaded, all I get to show up, in either a post or a page, is a white area the size of the height & width paramaters. In order to play the flash video, I need to right click and select "play" from the menu so watch the movie.
I am trying to figure out what I am doing wrong or why there are not play, pause stop, controls showing up and why the video preview image does not show up either
I am pulling my hair out over this one.surprised
NOTE; The WP SWFObject Plug-ins do not help with this. I have tried many of them to no avail.

Since recent versions of Flash have come out (perhaps the last few weeks), when loading up the website, [URL] , the flash loading bars show, various SWF files in their layer appear, but then when loading completes, the web page goes blank (usually black, sometimes white).
This occurs on Windoes 7 (64), Vista and XP. It occurs in IE9, IE8, and various Firefox browers. So, I am comfortable believing that it is a recent Flash player issue.
The HTML page loads a file "back.swf" which in turn loads "menu_eo.swf" in level 10 and "intro_eo.swf" into level 5.
What it looks like is that when the intro page finished loading and moves to the correct frame, the screen goes blank.
My clients rarely update their Flash Player, but I asked them to do so this morning. They had the same problem in all those other browser and operating system after updating to Flash Player 10.3.1832.5.
In Internet Explorer 7 and 8 (WinXP/Flash 10), if I play my videos using the JW Player in the slider they work. However if I move to the next slide and then return to the original slide the video is no longer displayed - the audio is still audible and the video can be played and paused, but there is no image.

I have a movie playing in the middle of the screen and currently there are lots of colourful buttons surrounding it which hijack the viewers' focus. What I want to happen is for the screen to dim around the movie. DivX Web Player's Desktop Dimmer as see on joox.net is the exact example of what I want to happen. (where the whole screen darkens unless you move your mouse)
View 3 RepliesI have installed the Remote Debugger, a couple of times, apparently without any problem. When I use the Remote Debugger in AS3, the message appears in Flash output as "Waiting for Player to connect ..." until the timeout. The debugger does not start, by itself. Neither, I can find the Debugger in any folder; like in "Program Files/Adobe/...... etc." It does not show up in the list of Programs, either.
