ActionScript 3.0 :: Get Text / Image From Facebook And Merge In SWF?
Feb 21, 2011
I am developing an Flash application, that is going to interact with a facebook application. It is supposed to get text and image from the facebook application and merge in an swf for the facebook Surfers. I wanted to ask what is best way to accomplish this?
1. Ask for the FaceBook app to save the Image and text in an SQL DB, for a webservice to pick?
2. Drop it in the root of application and pick it with a web service?
3. Send directly to the webservice?
I am getting a mysterious result when trying to load profile images from a logged in Facebook user's friends list into an as3 canvas app. In pretty much every (non-facebook) application I've made where loading an image is required I use the following:
private function loadPic():void { var url:String = Facebook.getImageUrl(_friendslistObjectArray[_loadCount].id); _picLoader = new Loader();[code]............
I can't retrieve the image from the event object,and I am given no error at all.It all just fails silently.If I remove the line var image = evt.target.content, the process runs through the whole array.I can't think of any reason this would occur. Furthermore, if I look in firebug's net activity, I see I see the images get loaded as long as I do not have the line I just mentioned included. I just can't seem to get the image data from the event object to add it to stage or a container movieclip.
I'm currently building an application using the Adobe Facebook API and I've run into an issue where for the login method the Facebook login popup displays but when doing a Facebook share/post the popup is blocked.
This code works fine and displays me a Facebook login popup without question (Firefox):
I am creating one desktop application of facebook.
So here I am getting streams from facebook post. So when any facebook application's long image link I am getting that I can't display in Image container, this is not displaying image.
One also fact is that, When I am giving this link directly then it is working.....
When I have seen this in Charlse Debugging proxy then it is displaying 403,Forbidden error of image.
Iam trying tu upload image to facebook but it just dont work, doe's someone knows relaiable and working example, because everythig I use it don't work.[code]
I recently developed an Adobe AIR App, for uploading images to a Facebook User's Album,which worked well! But now, as I tryed to migrate the AIR App to an Flash App, which is supposed to do exactly the same, I am experiencing one problem:
Actually everything works fine: The App Initialization, The User Login & Permission (establishing a session), BUT: Once i make the call for uploading a BitmapData, I do NEVER get ANY response / the handler does never get called:
var values:Object = { message:'This photo was created by ProFileIzer', fileName:'filename', image:new BitmapData(50,50, false, 0xFF0000) }; Facebook.api('/me/photos', handleUploadCompleted, values, 'POST');
There is also a Flex sample provided, which I am not able to test, as I am using Flash. So if someone smart got any idea, or probably could test if the sample works..[URL]...
I'm trying to upload a photo on Facebook using Javascript SDK. In particular I generate a base64 encoded bytearray from my Actionscript3 app, I pass it to Javascript file using ExternalInterface, and from that I decode the bytearray and I try to upload to FB. But it give me this error: {"error":{"message":"(#324) Requires upload file","type":"OAuthException","code":324}}
I tried to upload an image simply from url, and in that way it goes well! This is my Javascript code: upPhoto:function(photo) { var img = F.decode_base64(photo); FB.api('/me/photos', 'post', { message:'test', fileName:'test', [Code] .....
I'm trying to load profile images (friend images) from Facebook with AS3 but I seem to be running into a security issue.I'm currently using the "official" Adobe Facebook API for Actionscript 3 which works fine. However, I seem to be having trouble loading profile images when running my application in a browser. The images load fine when running in the Flash IDE.The images are being loaded from URL... and there seems to be a crossdomain.xml policy on that domain:[code]
I just noticed that when I visit one of the images in a browser that I'm actually redirected to Facebook's CDN where the actual image is stored. When I hard-code the image url with the redirected URL I can load the image in the browser. It seems that this is not a security issue after all but a redirection issue.If this is a redirection issue then the question would become; How can I have Flash Player load an image from a redirected URL?It seems that the URLRequest class has a followRedirects property which is only available in AIR.I'm currently using a PHP script to get me the redirected URL as a work around but this of course is far from ideal and potentially a big strain on my server.
using the latest facebook actionscript library, I upload an image using: Facebook.api('me/photos', etc...) it returns an ID, which method would I call to get the url of the uploaded image?
I want to make a simple .swf file with an image. The source of the image is not fixed but dynamic. It should be a user's profile pic on facebook [URL]. I can get the user facebook id's dynamically with a php file that generates XML. How do I make the .swf extract the image source from the xml?
I've developed a Flash quiz app for facebook, which calls for a php script silently upon completion. The php script's function is to generate an image from the POST data sent by the flash, and then post it to the user's wall.That would be all neat and dandy, but for some reason the image never gets uploaded, probably because when i call it, it's like [URL] and the facebook SDK script inside gets an Oauth error, probably because it is not embedded in their canvas.
If I'd like to have my php script generate an image and upload it to the fb wall, then how should I call it from the flash?This is the AS2 code I'm using currently:
callRemoteFile = function(ourVariable:Number) { var result_lv:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); result_lv.onLoad = function(success:Boolean) {
[code]....
If I simply navigate to the php with my browser it giver me this:
Fatal error: Uncaught OAuthException: Invalid OAuth access token signature. thrown in /home/a01223445/public_html/appfolder/base_facebook.php on line 1039
If I view the same php through facebook canvas it works perfectly. My problem is: The canvas will show the flash and I want the php to silently be evaluated while the flash is running.
I need to create an image upload app for our company's facebook page. I've been able to successfully create the app on facebook and it pulls from a location on our web server. Right now it's just an index.cfm file with hello world in it.We're having a photo contest and what we need to do is provide a quick form (name, email, phone, photo to upload, and photo description).When a user fills out the form and uploads the image, the image shows on our app with the description and then we are notified that someone has uploaded and image.
I've recently started putting together a Facebook Connect AS3 app and retrieving objects and images through the Graph API.Running anywhere but locally, I receive security errors of the form: SecurityError: Error #2122: Security sandbox violation: Loader.content: xxxx cannot access url...A policy file is required, but the checkPolicyFile flag was not set when this media was loaded.If I add a line of the form:[code]One thing I'd considered was retrieving the crossdomain policy file on a per image basis, capturing the domain from the image URL before making the image request. Unfortunately, at least via the Graph solution (and I haven't looked too closely at the others), their servers resolve the image url after the request is made, from something more generic like: url...Has anyone found a more dependable means of ensuring that images can be retrieved without security sandbox violations? Or do Facebook maintain a definitive list that developers need to keep an eye on?
I'm trying to determine the practical difference between using the com.facebook.session.WebSession and com.facebook.session.JSSession. The documentation ([URL]) has more around WebSession - but the example I have which is closest to what solution I'm trying to implement uses JSSession and it looks like I could avoid all of the JavaScript pass-through & ExternalInterface calls I'm making. It appears that the benefit of using this new ActionScript Facebook API is to avoid having to make all of the Facebook calls via JavaScript.
I have literally spent HOURS trying to solve this mystery... but simply can't seem to get hold of it. I am using the same code lines (literally!) as the example here (official adobe tutorial) and I get different result.

Everything works fine, i.e. everything till it is time to fire the loggedin event. I get asked to log in and all permissions are asked correctly. After I log myself in to facebook, the loggedin event doesn't fire. Is there any way of solving this problem??
i need to connect to have a button on my website that connects to facebook (if not already logged in) and posts to the users wall.I've only done this from within an iFrame - do i still need AppId etc etc?
Anyone know if you can connect, login, post an image to a Facebook account directly from inside of Flash? I grabbed the Facebook API for AS3 and have it installed, created an application definition on Facebook but am having no look connecting to it? I have seen some refereneces to it only working inside of Flex and am wondering it that's the case. I am looking to do a kiosk application where a camera image will be uploaded directly to the persons FB page.
I'm trying to display the profile images from both facebook and twitter. For facebook, the URLs I'm receiving are something like this (not actual urls):[URL]... Which is then redirected to the 'actual' url like this:[URL].. I'm also doing this with twitter, with the same issue (redirected url).
So, when I load the image, it loads fine. But when I close the container that the image is in, then I get the security sandbox violation. I can get this all to work if I add the URL from the 'actual' image url like this:
I have a facebook application where the user choose 4 of his friends and then it creates a video (swf) with the pictures of your friends in it (loaded via xml). So I need to share this video on the user timeline. Everything works fine but the video is not embedded in the post on his timeline, there is only a post with the link to the page in it.The weird thing is, if I post the url directly on my timeline, the video is embedded, but not if the same link is posted via the application.here is my code called by the share button in js :
function postToFeed() { var obj = { method: 'feed',[code].........
I've recently used the 'Static HTML' application to add autoplaying flash content to a Facebook Page.Nothing too fancy, no sound, and only a few secs long. Now, Facebook say:-"Apps on Pages must not host media that plays automatically without a user's interaction."
What do they mean by 'Media' exactly? I can understand a ban on autoplaying audio content but does the ban extend to something as harmless as an animated GIF? Or more to the point, does an autoplaying .swf file fall under this?
Lastly, what course of action would Facebook take if I did violate this rule? Would they issue a warning (giving me an opportunity to remove the 'offending' item) or would they just shut down my page without any consultation?
at the end of which I get the score populated in a dynamic text called rightAnswers_txt.Now how difficult is it to post/share this score on facebook? I have searched so many forums / tutorials, but not found anything
I can't find in the Adobe Facebook API how to log the user out of Facebook. The FacebookSessionUtil (and the related sessions and Facebook classes) all have a .logout() function, which will invalidate the user's current *session* within the swf, but it doesn't log the user out of Facebook.
What am I missing here? How are you supposed to log the user out of Facebook with this API? Since it's part of the TOS for Facebook Connect apps, you'd think this would be available in the API somewhere.
After I upload a photo on a desktop facebook application i need to store it's post id in a database. From the facebook ActionScript SDK documentation:pi() methodpublic static function api(method:String, callback:Function, params:* = null, requestMethod:String = GET):voidMakes a new request on the Facebook Graph API.Parameters [...]callback:Function — Method that will be called when this request is complete The handler must have the signature of callback(result:Object, fail:Object); On success, result will be the object data returned from Facebook. On fail, result will be null and fail will contain information about the error.
So I implemented my callback function as follows: protected function handleUploadComplete(response:Object, fail:Object):void{ status = (response) ? 'Success' : 'Error';
I'm tring to merge two nice effects file into one .fla file.I've tried in several ways but the result was very poor.Is there someone able to do it ?My goal is to have the changing aurora as background and have the possibility to see the mouse effects over.
i use FBML for the FB application.I have a flash and the flash suppose to call a javascript on the page. I read so many websites trying to figure it out but still having problem.Here is the Webpage with the javascript:
when i test, the flash loaded. The code goes through everything and show "SENT" in the flash text box. However, it doesn't seem like it is calling the javascript and change the text in the HTML page.is there something wrong I did? i try the ExternalInteface.call method but doesn't work neither. ALSO, when i run it in FireFox, not error popup.however, when i run it in IE, I got this:
VerifyError: Error #1033: Cpool entry 36 is wrong type.
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable FBJS is not defined.
Basically i have 2 flv movie clips. i want to put them both together (i can do)
But what i want is for the 1st one to pause at the end and the 2nd one to start coming in but the music first for a few seconds then it fade into the 2nd ones visuals.
