I have a few projects that are coming up at work where I will have to take a feed given to us and grab and display titles for example and pictures. I was able to do this in AS2 but I now need to do it in AS3 now and I don't have the time to dig in and figure it out. I would be willing to pay someone to display one of the images and one of the headlines in the example feed below. I think I can learn the rest, but there is a good chance I might need some more help and I would be willing to pay for that also. So basically I need a small script and a file that displays the info. Can you guys throw some offers my way here or at my email:
Note: If you use Firefox the feed will display and you can see where you would need to traverse this feed to get a headline and a pic

I am importing a picture in flash and i found out that there is a difference between importing to the stage, and importing to the library... [URL] I've placed both picture close of each other and if you look closely, you'll notice that one of them is losing some resolution. Both picture come from the same file, a png. The picture imported to the stage is sharper than the one imported to the library. is there a way to import that picture to the library without losing any resolution?

pull some simple text from an external website's RSS feed into a basic text box in a Flash movie. It would need to be in AS2 to fit with the website. The RSS feed is on a PHP page: [URL]
I understand I need to pull the content via an xml / php page under my own domain in order to get around the Flash security, but I still can't scrape together the right code for it to work.

I made this BlogFeed.swf file. Everything works just fine in Flash IDE. It loads the XML, renders it, displays fine and that's it: the world is filled with love and data.
The problem occurs when I try to use my swf online.
Here's the scenario:
SERVER A (Altervista)
hosts the swf file, trying to read the RSS Feed from...
SERVER B (my client's server)
serves the RSS Feed of his blog
[ things I already tryed ]
1) I wrote a crossdomain.xml file (allowing SERVER B domain to access the swf), place it at the same level of the swf file on SERVER A;
2) Set System.security.allowInsecureDomain("*") in the flash file
3) checked on both servers the server-to-server permissions (Altervista lets you do this via its own control panel; the client's server needed me to email the support: did it and they allowed me to connect)
4) moved the swf on ANOTHER server, on which I am completely sure that server-to-server communications are allowed, since I already did something like that.
Nothing changes: always getting the damn HTTPStatus = 0 and no items are shown.
What I really don't understand is why it does work from Flash IDE connecting to SERVER B and it fails (with NO IOError and HTTPStatus = 0, so no debug hints at all...) when I use it in server-to-server mode.

setting up an RSS feed into my flash site. I've been trying to work with the code below, but when it displays the code includes all the HTML code of the RSS feed (ie image and link tags). I'd also like it to scroll.
Code (AS2):
Code:
// create a new XML object
var feed:XML = new XML();

I have never looked into RSS feeds before, I now have someone that wants Yahoo rss newsfeed embedded in his main.fla. I have an AS 2.0 rss newsreader he sent to me, knowing nothing about RSS I started to look around and eventually got to a point where I went to a Yahoo RSS feed and copied the source page and dropped it in the xml file that came with the feedreader. When saved, published and uploaded to the server the file displays the feed from yahoo fine, but it never update the stories. I would think this has to do with the xml as it is embedded in the page so it can't change so my question is how do I get an rss feed converted to xml to update???

I am making a website that needs to read a RSS feed from a blog and then place the information into flash. I have gotten as far as getting the information into flash and viewing it. However I can't get the scrolling functions to work nor do anything else with the feed. The goal is to be able to format the feed in the way that it is online so that it is scrollable but only the most recent post on the feed. Do I have to change how the information is being used in flash to better manipulate it such as xml? Or is is something I've overlooked while using the rss feed code?

I'm using FlepStudio's RSS Flash widget to provide a feed from a blog. Whilst I have everything working properly i'm having problems customizing it. I want to alter the size of the feed titles and 'read more' text which is addressed in AS as title_txt. I have tried both changing the font settings in the main.fla and tweaking the variables for title_txt in the .as to no avail.

I'd like to know if you can stream someone's facebook feed in Flash. At the least, it seems you can stream an RSS feed in Flash (I'm not an advanced user, sorry if thats an obvious question), and since Facebook offers an RSS feed for each profile, I'd imagine I could stream that RSS feed.Is there a "standard" way to stream a Facebook feed in a full flash site? Is it possible at all?

I'm attempting to make an RSS feed for my new site's news, and i've looked online at adding a date stamp but i guess you have to make a new namespace or whatever and it confuses me to shambles when i try to read all that. so i have my current rss file as so:[code]Anyway, this isn't very friendly to read the date, as seen in the <item> tag. i need to output the date to flash in the form of 6-26-05. how would i go about doing that from the pubDate in the item?

I'm trying to use the NetConnection class to connect to a live video feed on an external server. I have it set up to start playing my video when the user clicks a Play button, however, this appears in my output every time I click the Play button:
ArgumentError: Error #2126: NetConnection object must be connected.
at flash.net::NetStream/ctor()
at flash.net::NetStream()
at Over/connectLiveStream()[Over::frame2:31]
Here is the (I think relevant) code:
if (playVid.label == "Play") {
nc = new NetConnection();
nc.objectEncoding = flash.net.ObjectEncoding.AMF0;
nc.connect("rtmp://my.rtmp.server:1935/live/");
nsPlay = new NetStream(nc);
nsPlay.play("livestream.flv");
}

I'm creating website which needs video stream from surveillance camera implemented. Camera is GeoVision GV-FD120D 1.3Mpix LowLux IR 2.7-9mm and it is linked to server which I have full access to (I dont have direct access to camera)
I was playing around with settings on this cam and I managed to turn on RTSP protocol access for this camera. Then I used VLC (on server) to open network stream with address: [URL]Works!
Ideally I would like to show the video in player like jwplayer , however it does not support RTSP protocol, but RTMP instead.
So I guess I would need some kind of software on this server to:
1) transcode the video stream from RTSP -> RTMP
2) stream it out from server so I can connect to it with jwplayer later
I heard of Wowza media server but the budget is pretty tight for this project so would rather use free solution here.

I have a Flash Ad which makes use of a JSON feed. The Flash file is hosted within oubleClick Studio.The call works perfectly locally but when I upload it to DC Studio the load Event.COMPLETE does not file neither do any IOErrors which is leaving me with no feed and no errors!I have tried making use of the StudioLoader which is supplied by DC which returns that the file is an unrecognised format. Would it be that DC just wont read JSON at all?
request.url = "myJSONFeed.json";
loader.load(request);
loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, decodeJSON);

I've made a few sites a few years ago with flash CS3/AS2 and using the TextArea as an output for xml content. that really sucked and looked terrible as it flashed white everytime it was loading (especially on slow connections). so I don't want to go that route again.sir!ok, so I have a banner that has 3 text elements per page (with various graphics per page behind the text) ...all text needs to be live as it is fed by 3 different languages. (referably the image link too)1. consistant big title across 8 pages2. sub-title that changes per page3. paragraph of text per sub-title4. the background imageEach of the 8 "slides" lasts about 6 seconds each (this part im fine with and sorted in AS2...but not AS3). On the top left are 8 numbered buttons that a user can click on to view whichever "slide" they may have missed or whatever. (this part i'm ok with....just the external text and formating are the issue)how would i go about setting this up via dynamic text with either XML or PHP in CS4/AS3? (using dynamic text fields, but so its nicely formated).

I have built a simple twitter feed flash app and it works just fine when accessed directly, but does not work when embedded into the page. I suspect that the answer might be simple, but I just can't find it.
[Code]...
I can't use JavaScript, because I want it to be embedded in my signature on a certain website, and obviously <script> tag is forbidden. EDIT: problem is solved, it's very embarrassing, but like in most cases it was a path error...

I'm trying to attach a single NetStream Object to two separate Video objects instead of pulling redundant streams from the server. The expected behavior would be for both Video's to display the same content. However, it seems that the last video I attach the NetStream to is the only Video that will display the content.Has anyone else run into this? I'd rather not go to the inelegant steps of using BitmapData to clone pixels if I don't have to.

I need to call a REST web service that provides an XML feed of weather conditions. I have 13 cities for which conditions are needed, and only 3 nodes for each city are required (vs. the entire feed). My very basic first attempt is as follows:
[Code]...
First, how do I parse the 3 nodes, and ? Next, is there a way to pass a different querystring argument for each of the 13 cities? Finally, how would I add these values to an FLV that's been imported and placed on stage? The FLV displays a geographical area and pans from east to west plotting cities as it goes. At each city plot, the 3 node values need to be "superimposed" onto the FLV.

Is it possible to, using javascript, either create video data on the fly, or more likely download pieces of video data from various sources and feed them to a flash player instance.
Even better, is it possible to feed a html5 video stream from locally executed javascript?
