ActionScript 3.0 :: Load External Swf And Go To A Particular Frame
Nov 10, 2009
I have an empty swf (container) where my external swfs get loaded and unloaded. I have two swfs - Activity 1 and Activity 2 (each contain an activity to complete on several frames).
The user is able to click back from activity 2 to activity 1, but they get to the beginning of the activity instead of where they were last (last frame on swf). I would like to be able to click the back button and go the last frame on the swf being loaded.
So, how do I load an external swf and then go to the last frame in it? But I don't want this to happen everytime I go to activity 1. Only when you click the back button from activity 2.
I want to make a preloader what can i use for anything in the page. The problem is that if i write the load movie action, all frame will be loaded.is it possible to load just a frame of an external.swf?
I got these swf, that i am trying to load other swfs with, so far I have it so the swf are kinda preload, loading on a container off the stage and then advancing to a new frame, my problem is with this code it just stays on frame one for some reason.
This is on frame one Code: bytes=container.getBytesLoaded()+this.getBytesLoaded() total=container.getBytesTotal()+this.getBytesTotal() _root.createEmptyMovieClip("container",1) container.loadMovie("01.swf") container._x = -500 ; container._y = -1000; if (bytes == total) { _root.gotoAndPlay(3) }
And this is on frame two Code: gotoAndPlay(1) Why it's staying on frame one instead of advancing after the swf is loaded?
and when i click another button to go frame 1 from the same page at 10,, placed beside the loading external swf ,, it goes,, but the loaded external swf file is not going ,, or the external file not cleaning,, not removing. here is the CS3 flash sources,, and outputs [URL]
i would like to load the "1.swf" to the "hub.swf"(ROOT MOVIE) and have it gotoAndPlay(2) using AS2.he thing is I can't put the gotoAndPlay(2) on the first frame of 1.swf.
thats it is there a way to take all the code in a frame and save it to a .AS file and import that .AS file into the frame where the code originally was?
I'm trying to access a specific frame label in an externally loaded swf. I have the external swf loading, but I'm not sure how to access the specific frame label after release. This is an example of the code on my external swf timeline:
I have a button on the main timeline. When clicking it, I would like to move the main timeline to a frame label called "history" and load and play a movie clip called "slideshow1".
I have the "gotoAndPlay" code working properly but can't seem to get the external swf "slideshow1" to load and play.[code]...
im trying to do is load an external swf file into a "base" file but play a certain frame number or label in the external file.I have a file called base.swf file which is level0In base.swf i have nothing but 1 frame with the following AS code:loadMovie("top.swf", 2);This works fine and loads and plays top.swf, but how can i load top.swf and play a certain frame label or number as soon as its loaded. Ive tried the following which does work but i hope it kinda explains what i want to do.
I need to load an external movie file into the root of my main movie, so it replaces the main movie, and when it loads, it loads at a specific frame (or label)of that newly loaded movie.
Explanation: My main movie, lets call it "Main.swf", has a button which is part of a drop down (tree) list. When you click on the button, I want to load my second movie called "bearings.swf", and to immediately go to frame #2 of the "bearings.swf" movie.
I am making a flash site where one of my pages loads an external swf. In this external swf I have sub pages with links. My problem is when I visit a page from this external swf, and then go to a page from my main website (clicking my main time line buttons) and then go back to the page with the external swf i was previously on, the page would go to the last page i was on, instead of refreshing it back to the main frame of the external swf.
I made a small, simple example of what I am experiencing on the site I'm working on.
The title of my main file is "Gabriel96.fla". Inside this file I have a movie clip called "home movie". Inside this movie clip i have a button called "Symbol 32". Once this button gets clicked, I'd like it to go to frame "joe" which is inside a movie clip called "porrtfolio", which inside a separate file called "portfolio55.swf".
In preloading a movie, I need to listen to the load progress of an external FLV that resides on the next frame-- the grandChild of a movieClip on the stage.This is the actionScript of the mentioned grandChild:
Code: import fl.video.*; function onFLVComplete(event:VideoEvent):void { event.target.play();[code]....
Now, if I understand it correctly all I have to do is listen to (making sure my child mapping is correct) this loader....correct? I have the following in on the first frame throwing a 'reference to null object or property' error:
I have a question about loading external data. When I had all my actionscript export to frame one, it would slow down the preloader and not show up until it was far into the progress bar animation. So I moved everything to frame 2. The problem with that is now my menus which are populated from an xml file are not there when the site starts to play. How can I get my xml data to load on frame one, but leave the .as fils to load in frame 2?
I've got this interactive poem I've been working on for a class. I've basically finished each "episode" seperately. I made a parent document which essentially loads one of the ten child documents onto the respective key frame. Here's a sample of the code for the first key frame of the parent document:
Well Two things are messed up about it, well my "ChildTimeline2" variable will off and on assosciate itslef not with the main time line of a child document, but of a nested symbol inside said child document. Even worse, the "gotoAndStop();" command I will give sometimes applies to Parent document... yaay! but often it will apply to the child document. The end result being this horrible looping moment where you are stuck in one child document for all time.
I wish I could attach the documents but they exceed the 300KB. how I can get Actionscript to listen fro the last frame of the maintimeline of the child document, or tell flash to gotoandStop for the parent document
I'm new to actions script. I creating a presentation in which I'm loading external FLV movie files. I have a Navigation menu to go to the different chapters (every chapter is a FLV movie File)This is what I need, when a FLV movie finish I need some action in the frame to take me to next frame where I have the next FLV chapter.if is any help I upload a sample FLA with some FLV for reference.

I have an application swf that loads a big external swf with all GUI components/assets (skin) in it.I want to display a progress bar during loading of the external asset swf file but the images for the progress bar are also included in the external swf file.Is it possible to load only a portion of the external swf before loading the rest. The idea is to load the progress bar images from the external swf, then construct the progress bar and than load the rest of the swf. I was thinking to put it on different frames. Frame 1 containing the progress bar graphics and frame 2 the rest of the assets.
I'm building a flash application where the user can play multiple 30 sec .flv movies (one at a time) in slowmotion by pressing or holding down the left and right arrows keys.The user can hold/press "keypress right" to move to the next (key)frame and "keypress left" to move to the previous (key)frame in the .flv files.I have tested embeeding one .flv movie to the stage and it's working fine.But since I will be using many flv's I want to load the .flv's dynamiclly (on button clicks) using netstream or FLVPlayer. Would it be possible to step beetween keyframes in the same way if the .flv's are loaded dynamiclly? Or, must I embeed each .flv file into separate swf's and then dynamiclly load the swf's to my main stage?
Unfortunately it ignores the second line, which appears to be because the movie hasn't loaded by time it gets to the next line. As a work-around I made an interval to check for the movieclip width to be more than 0 and then run a function that chooses the desired frame, but this is very unreliable. Is there a simple way to load the clip and wait until it is finished, then immediately choose a frame on load?
I am using the below code on a button to load another movie, graphic.swf is there a way i can get it to load a particular frame, i.e frame 150 of graphic.swf rather then start at frame 0.
on (release) { //load Movie Behavior if(this == Number(this)){ loadMovieNum("graphic.swf",this);
I have a movieclip to dynamically load swf's. Some of my swf's are slideshows and contain jpgs that are quite large. Therefore I do not want to wait till the end of a complete load to show the swf. Say, if i want to show picture 3 (at frame 3), i'd like to show it as soon as the frame is loaded. However, I also need to rezie the swf to fit my mc's fixed size. Resize only works after all bytes of the swf are loaded I believe.

Structure: There is 1 main file that loads external SWF files depending on what is clicked on.One of the external SWF files loads its text from external text files. This works fine when viewing the SWF applet on its own. But when viewing as a whole site, the text doesnt appear. Very annoying.I made that particular SWF on my mums computer running Flash MX 2004The flash file itself uses the Scrollbar component from MX.Could someone tell me why the text doesnt load in this scenario? It runs fine on its own, just not as an external SWF.
