I didn't get these errors when I had the code in an actions frame.Just now that I have them in a seperate document class they come up.

May 26, 2010I am following a code example in a book and have the final fla and as files, so I know the project works when fully coded.In the book, it tells me I can test the movie to make sure that it is working so far. When I do that, I get the error 1120: Access of undefined property.
The "property" is a component instance. If I take the example completed code and remove everything up to the point I am at, I receive the same errors, so I know it's not a spelling/syntax mistake.I have a feeling it is the Compiler in Strict Mode. But, when I change it to Standard Mode, then I get error 5001: The name of package 'com.foundastionAS3.ch12' does not reflect the location of this file. etc.
note:: attached is a file of the compiler when it gives me multiple 1120s.

My animation is a initial photo that turns around and becomes a black backgroud (were I'll add some text), now what I want is that the photo won't animate until I do a click in it. I used a Layer with a transparent image and converted it to a button and the export name is buti. The other to layers were converted to movie clips named preto and foto.

Feb 10, 2009I am attempting to load an XML file to populate values in actionscript, but Flash returns "Access of undefined property error" referring to my line of code:
companyData = xmlResult.company.toString();
From the following:

I'm guessing this because it is not getting a value from the XML file, but I am not clear as to why that is.

Aug 4, 2009I am new to flash. I am experiencing random (at least to me) errors (#1009) while navigating through my tested file. I can't reproduce them everytime. It only happens sometimes. Usually they occur after I have clicked back and forth between different pages (frames). Sometimes the error shows up once, and the file moves on as if nothing bad has happened. Sometimes the error continuosly displays, which really slows down the test. When I compile the swf there are no errors yet when I embed it into a web page i keep getting thrown either one of these two errors the first time the page loads in Safari and Chrome TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference at tracks/loadFlashvars()[code]In firefox I get thrown the same errors everytime the page loads.
