ActionScript 3.0 :: Swf With Mutliple Buttons To Load Child Swfs That Can't Get To Work?
Mar 26, 2009here is the scenario..I have a picture on the stage that has multiple items that have hotspots/links over them that should open a child swf on top of the background and show details about the items. I found this code in someone's post and I am trying to modify it so that works for multiple buttons ...it currently works for a button loading a single swf. The name of the instance name of the buttons is the same as the name of the swf file that they load so I thought I could do something that when the button is clicked it would pass the name of the button into the URLRequest but I can't figure it out. Here is the code I am using.

Actionscript 3.0 :: External Swfs Won't Load When Viewed From Html Page
Nov 20, 2009I have a html page with a flash element. The flash element loads in an external swf. This works fine when I'm testing from the swf, but when I test from my HTML page the external swf doesn't seem to load into my main swf.
I have all my swf's in a folder called "swf". The HTML document is at the root level. In my main swf the actionscript for loading the external swf is:

Some how the path to the external swf gets lost. I've tried new URLRequest("soundComponent.swf"); as well. And like I said, this all works from the swf, just not when viewing from an HTML page.

What happens is one of the embededd swfs ends up overriding the other. I also need the rotating movie clip to pulse, on and off, and bright lime green. I'm aware of the glow filter in actionscript 3,
filters = [new GlowFilter(0x5d7c00,1,6,6,2,3)];,
but how would I get it to pulse?
Then if you go to the site [URL] you'll see a green cloud as that is part of the swf. I want to create the same toxic warning symbol that is rotating in the center, but much smaller, and multiple instances of it, flashing in and out at random locations in the green cloud. Then I'll be creating a Flash App where a user can can layered "posters". Is this code sufficient for allowing the user to be able to move those individual layers in perspective to the whole

Feb 24, 2011Is there a clean and efficient way to import documents in a flash presentation?I have a big number of doc documents to import in a flash presentation and i'm wondering what's the best way to attach them. I've worked passing them to HTML before, but the doc to HTML conversion is messy, ugly and doesn't output valid HTML code, besides, it's a chore to clean the embed CSS style the conversion leaves inside the code. is there a library that allow to use a more portable format? if not, is there a clean way to convert a doc file to valid html code?

Oct 10, 2006What I'm looking for is a fairly basic looking MP3 player, with the usual, Play, Stop, Pause and maybe a loadbar, that will only be playing one track. But the catch is, I want to be able to define the MP3 file to be played via the HTML code.My reasons for this is, the player is for a record label's website and they have audio samples for 3-4 artists a month. And it would make my life a lot easier if I could have one standard player for the site and then just change the HTML code, instead of having to make individual .swfs for each MP3, each month. And having to open the player(s) in Flash and define the file in there.

Jan 4, 2011I am a Flash novice and ran into a problem when my Flash generated html file opens in Safari (I'm designing on a Mac) but would not open on a recipient's computer - a PC using IE. I'm using CS5 and set up the file for actionscript 2.0. I know one needs to be sensitive to the various browsers being used, but how does one go about that and how can I begin to troubleshoot my current problem? I didn't use any special coding...I don't know action script yet.

Nov 13, 2010I am loading eight external swfs by way of eight buttons with actionscript to remove the swfs and sound after a new button is clicked. This works fine except that as soon as you get to the frame where the actionscript is all the swfs load at one time on top of each other. I don't want any to load until the button is clicked for the right one. MouseEvent listener works but only after all the swfs have loaded. How do I get the swfs to load only when the buttons are clicked. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
