I am trying to load external swf into scrollpane. Although the swf does load into scrollpane, no scrollbars are displayed.

i am trying to import an external movie clip in a scrollpane in my flash movie my external movie is an animated sequence which expands on click of a button much like a data tree but here its just images so now i want that when someone clicks on the expand button the scroll should appear but i ran into this problem that the swf load perfect but no matter what i do the scroll either doesn't appears or even if its there it won't scroll through the complete swf rather just 5px in vertical i defined a few basic properties in AS and some through the property inspector Check the attachment below if u want to
View 1 RepliesI am developping a player with Articulate Presenter and Flash. I would like to put thumbnails that are in a special folder in swf, into a scrollPane. The scrollPane itself is in a clip loaded when I click on the Thumbnails Tab.

Well, my problem is that the ScrollPane is not scrolling until the end of the thumbnails, so I don't know if all the thumbnails are loaded. And even worse, exactly one time on two, the Scroll Bar is not showing at all ... !is it a scrollPane pb ? I use it many times in other parts of my project without any problem ... or is it because there are too many thumbnails ? I have around 30 - 40 to load ..
I have a swf that is loading another swf into a ScrollPane. The swf being loaded is large...around 4mb. My problem is that sometimes it loads fine, sometimes it loads without the scrollbar, and sometimes you need to refresh the page before it loads fully and correctly. My question: How can I easily test that it has fully loaded and that the scroll bars are displaying? I've tried various scenarios with ProgressBars, etc., but even when 100% loaded, the scroll bars do not consistently load.
View 1 RepliesI am loading a menu consisting of a library of items, based on my XML file into a combo box. I have menu working correctly. When I click on an library item in the combo box, it's supposed to load the items into my scrollPane called "thumbs". Now what is happening is, the appropriate number of items are getting loaded to the scrollPane in the form of a movieClip called appropriately "thumbs_mc", but the actual swf doesn't get loaded. I can't seem to figure out whats going on.

I have been working on a file for a while now and I am trying to load an external swf into a scrollpane. The external swf gets all its content from an xml file (there is nothing on the stage, it's all done through as3) My problem is that when I load the swf into the scrollpane I don't get the scroll bars and most of my content is cut off. I have tried setting the scroll policy to auto, and true, neither helped. Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong?

The site is structured with all content inside entireSite, with two further movie clips nested myMenu, which contains all the button movieclips (rollovers etc) and AS to navigate the site and another entitled allPages which contains all the content.
on entrance to the site i want a grid of images appears which is scrollable using scroll pane. I have managed to achieve this just on a standalone .fla following this tutorial with the code

now i have structired my site properly im having difficulty getting it to load correctly. I have the correct instance names for scrollpane and the linkage for the movie clip i want to load. im just wondering that now my scrollpane is nested in entireSite then allPages that the code will not recognise it?
How do i make it point to it? Also, as i move between different pages of the site more content will require a scrollPane, can i just use different instance names to do this?
Or should i go about removing the movieclip in scrollpane and adding a new one?
whats up with the scrollpane.Ive got it loading my swf files into it but for sum reason u can press the buttons even if theyre not showing. see below see the button on the top left how it is darkened, this is the over state, but the mouse isnt actualy on the button, its above the scrollpane area, but its still being selected and is able to be clicked.

Everything works just fine, except for the last msg gets only half displayed as if the scrollpane wouldn't scroll to the end.

Here's what I'm doing:
I create a container mc, which I then add a bunch of children to. The children are what I want to drag.
However, dragging is constrained to the boundaries of the ScrollPane. This seems to me like a limitation of the ScrollPane component.
I know it can be worked around with attaching a dupe mc to the cursor pos, then manipulating other mcs on mouse up, but..
I have a movieclip clip that plays when the movie starts, the movieclip is a visual assets that show's that the application is loading some information but it's not showing any loading progress, just playing while the assets are loaded.I created a for loop that will load the assets using a simple loader, and then when the object is loaded the application push the object to an array.Problem is that when the loading starts all the animation that i have on screen stops until the loading is finished.The whole point is that the animation will play while it's loading.

In my main.fla, I have a code which loads the other two files. [FMX] I am having trouble loading an XML file on an external server into my flash movie when it is uploaded. The data loads in fine when the flash file is on my local computer with the xml file on a server. As soon as the flash file is uploaded the XML data will not load in.

I have created a main "site.swf" file that loads a "default.swf" file into a container after a preloader. On this default.swf file I have buttons that needs to load new external SWF files in its place in the container. All of the external SWFs contain buttons and navigations that will also call up other external SWFs into this container. So, I would like to know how to program each button (some are movieclips as buttons) to unload itself and load the respective SWF into the container (eg. AboutUsButton to call up aboutus.swf into the container). I do not have a main navigation on the site.swf file bacause the navigation changes on each SWF that needs to be loaded into the container.

I'm loading a external swf into a movie everything is fine with that. The only problem is that its loading only a part of it. Does anybody know why? Also, this swf is a mp3 player with streaming. [URL]/img/20042005113934movie3.swf ) My Loading Progress code fails to detect the SWF file size. However the same code works perfectly for a JPG! Essentially the .getBytesLoaded() and .getBytesTotal fail to work. Why is this and how can I get it to work for loading SWFs?

Specifically, I am building a flash page that loads external swf files and inside some of the external swf files, I would like to add audio and flash video (flv) streaming from the Flaash Media Server. In some of the external swf files, (using a FLVPlayback component) when you press a button on the main timeline to unload the current playing swf the audio/video continues to play after loading the new external swf file.So I believe that my approach is all wrong and I should be working to dynamically load the .mp3 and.flvs in the external swf ... my questiion is how to unload those assets when loading the new external swf

View 2 RepliesI created a site using Kirupa's external .swf loading tutorial. Now in one of my externally loaded .swf's, I am loading another external .swf. I've gotten this to work fine, but the second external .swf (loaded into the first) contains buttons that will swap this second external .swf with another external .swf. I can't seem to get the AS references to the variables set up correctly in order to swap the swf's. The initial .swf loads fine, but the button control gets complicated inside it. It sounds rather confusing, so I've included a link to the .fla's and .swf's below.

View 3 Replieseverything was going fine on a website project I've been working on, until yesterday. I'll try to explain the whole scenario first, and I'll put the code in here too so anyone can try to figure out what is wrong. Here's the breakdown of the site:
1) There is a MAIN SWF file that plays an intro and then stops on the last frame with the "Main" Navigation buttons.
2) Inside the Root folder where the MAIN SWF resides, there is another folder called "swfs" which contains six main external navigation pages, as well as another folder called "galleries" which contains additional external swf files for six gallery pages.
3) On one of the layers of the MAIN SWF, there is a movie clip called "mySWFLoadingClip" that the "Main" Navigation buttons load and unload the external swf pages onto. These all work perfectly. The problem start on the next step. This is the code I used for the navigation buttons on the MAIN SWF timeline:

Please help me figure out how to load an External SWF onto the main time line and then load an additional external swf from within the first external swf. I'm stumped.
