How I would go about making a rating system that I could load as a .swf into my main swf? Also have multiple rating systems instead of just 1? I have videos on a big flash site and I am interested in putting a rating system in.
View 3 RepliesI'd like to create a rating and comments system to the video site I'm working on. Basically the user will rate the video (stars or thumbs up) from 1-5, have the new rating process and improve or lower the video rating automatically. For the comments the user will be able to write and send the comment and then either have it posted automatically with the option for the site moderator to erase any offensive comment or have it sent to a database for approval first and then post it by the site moderator. I assume I need a php form and action script code?

View 2 RepliesI am working on an archive that contains a large number of flv and swf videos. The plan is to make this archive available to my site visitors to be able to go back and look at some of the old flash videos. Simple enough. The problem is that most of these videos have a redirect at the end which will send you to a website that no longer exists and I do not have the original fla's to work with. These files are pretty old. So, what I'm looking for is a way to prevent these redirects and keep my visitors on my site.

What we are trying to do is change the color of the sky and shade of the buildings in a cityscape scene on a cartoonish style site. If it is 9:00 PM on the site visitor's end, they will see a nighttime colored scene. If it's 7:00 AM, it would be sunrise-ish.

View 1 RepliesI got a textfile who i am reading on a serverside script and passing it as a script to my client side as3 code. The problem is that i am using characters like ä,ö,ü,ß and this isn't well displayed. I tried System.useCodePage but the compiler complains about : 1120: Access of undefined property 'System'. It doesnt matter if I tried this on the first line of the 'Action' in the first scene or in the first line of the first .as file i am loading. (btw i am only working with .as file and not in the timeline). When i am importing flash.System.* the compiler complains he dont know useCodePage.

View 1 Repliesi have made a site in flash. stage size 955x600 i have exported it as fullscreen with no scale. the problem is that if i browse the site with a resolution of 800x600 (760x420 if i'm not wrong), the browser dont' add scrolls and its impossible to see the complete site. How can i fix this without resizing the site. i want the users to see with the proportions that i have now.. ijust want a scroll on the browser.

However when i publish the file as a swf or .exe the skin either disapears or just doesn't work.I have managed to get a skin that stays when i publish however the play, rewind and fast forward buttons don't work. is it possible to mix videos and webcamera streams in flash to send them to flash media server as one stream?
Forexample put two webcamera streams side-by side and send them to server as one steam.

View 2 Repliesthe flash4 published set of files, with a variety of skins tried, works well on the local drive, even when moved to a different folder structure. when index.html is opened on the remote web site, the browser (firefox3 and ie7) displays the player conrols and a rotating horizontal barber pole, green and black, but no flash video.some of the skins i've used are: SkinOverPlaySeekFullscreen.swf, nOverPlayStopSeekCaptionVol.swf and SkinUnderPlay.swf. all work locally but do not play the .flv file on the web site. no problem playing flv movies on the remote web site if the file set is created by dreamweaver.
