Copy - Paste Keyframed Scale Transforms Info Only

Jun 25, 2009

In Flash CS3 is it possible to copy a Keyframed and tweened animation of say a symbol growing larger and paste the Keyframes of the scaling transform onto a different symbol on a different layer so that this new symbol animates in the same way as the first symbol. When I try this with "ctrl alt c / v" the new symbol becomes the same as the old symbol and also moves to the same position too. I need to only copy the scale transform info in the Keyframes. Is this possible?

Java :: Translating Ecmascript (javascript) Knowledge To Objective C?

Apr 24, 2010

Newcomer to Objective C and trying to translate concepts and sytax I know from ecmascript based languages to Objective C.Is it proper to think of the .h header file in ObjectiveC as an Interface in Actionscript?Lets take the following code example in Objective C which calls a method containing 2 arguments

[myTextObject setString: @"Hello World" color: kWhiteColor];

In Actionscript(or javascript) would this be the same as calling 2 accessor methods on 'myTextObject'?
ie

myTextObject.setString("Hello World")
myTextObject.color(kWhiteColor);

Actionscript :: Find A Yacc Grammar For ECMAscript/Javascript?

Sep 14, 2011

My compilers class requires us to find a yacc grammar for one of these languages and combine it with the tokenizer we wrote. Presumably this is something easy to Google but I can't find it and my classmates are struggling as well. A yacc grammar for any of those three languages would suffice.

Flash :: 3D Transforms On Loaded SWFs Aren't Working

Dec 12, 2011

Our creative team produces SWF animations in the Flash CS5 authoring tool that we (the engineers) load at runtime into a project built using the Flex SDK. Animations that don't use the "3D rotation tool" work just fine.

Animations that use the 3D rotation tool give the following behavior:

MovieClips that have 3D tweens applied using the 3D rotation tool show up in the top-left corner of the stage as if they had no transform at all (i.e. as if their Matrix3D was being ignored, and their Matrix was identity) MovieClips that have normal 2D tweens animate properly Alpha and other non-affine properties tween properly

Both 3D and non-3D animations play fine when loaded by themselves in a browser tab or the standalone flash player. 3D is only broken when loaded into our code generated SWF.

So it seems that for MovieClips with 3D transformations applied in the CS5 authoring environment, those transformations aren't being applied / respected when the SWF is loaded by our code SWF.

This is my first foray into 3D, so I'm not sure what could be causing this, but here's what I've tested / checked / tried, all to no avail:

I've ensured that actionscript 3 and Flash Player 10 / 10.1 is selected in the authoring environment. I've tried loading animations into code SWFs built using Flex 4.1, 4.5, and 4.6 at Flash player versions 10.0, 10.1, 10.2, and 11 I've applied Matrix3D to the containers that load the SWF animations, both identity and rotated. I can see the rotated containers do work with 3D in perspective, so I know that my code SWF is 3D capable.

Javascript :: Javascript - Target Multiple Objects With A Single Operation Using ECMAScript's `with` Statement?

The following doesn't work (although it gives no explicit error), but why not?nd... Is there really no way around it, strictly using the with statement? Forget using for / foreach.

with (object1, object2) {
attribute = value;
method();
}

Why the code above gives no syntax error, doesn't work but is accepted by with?If it's possible, how could we change multiple objects with same attribute using with?

var object1 = { attribute: 3 };
var object2 = { attribute: 2, method: function() { alert('blah'); } };
var object3 = { method: function() {alert('bleh'); } };

Regex :: Using A Variable In Regexp?

Jul 11, 2011

Using Actionscript 3.0 (Within Flash CS5)A standard regex to match any digit is:

var myRegexPattern:Regex = /d/g;

What would the regex look like to incorporate a string variable to match?(this example is an 'IDEAL' not a 'WORKING' snippet) ie:

var myString:String = "MatchThisText"
var myRegexPatter_WithString:Regex = /d[myString]/g;

I've seen some workarounds which involve creating multiple regex instances, then combine them by source, with the variable in question, which seems wrong. OR using the flash string to regex creator, but it's just plain sloppy with all the double and triple escape sequences required.There must be some pain free way that I can't find in the live docs or on google.

Media Server :: FMS Crashes With Large RegExp?

Jul 30, 2010

I've had some problems with FMS crashing when trying to execute or compile large regular expressions.  This is the most easily reproducible scenario:

var patterns = [];
for(var iter = 0; iter < Math.pow(2, 16); iter++)
{
patterns.push('a');
}
var filter = new RegExp('('+patterns.join('|')+')', 'i');

2^16 dies, 2^16 - 1 works fine.  Understandable that it crashes with such a big RegExp, but the problem I have with FMS is that the error messages are useless when it crashes.  "Experienced 1 failure(s)!" is all I get.  So my question is; can we get better debug info when FMS crashes?

I am getting an error with RegExp class at my flash document. I am using an Action Script 2.0 at my document. Is RegExp class is not supported in AS1/AS2 ?

My code is as follows
function validateEmailAddress(emailString:String):Boolean {
var myRegEx:RegExp = /(w|[_.-])+@((w|-)+.)+w{2,4}+/;
var myResult:Object = myRegEx.exec(emailString);
if(myResult == null) {return false;}return true;
} if(validateEmailAddress(email) == false) {
contacterror = "Error ! Please Enter Valid Email Address";}

If RegExp not supported in ActionScript 2.0 then how to validate email address at ActionScript 2.0 ?
