ActionScript 3.0 :: Removing Dead Enemies From An Array Upon Gameload

I am trying to implement saving and loading and it went well until I encountered my arrays of items that can be picked up and put in the inventory, as well as enemies that needs to be removed from the stage upon load if they were dead when the game was saved.I have tried adjusting many different attempts which I found on the internet which were related to my issue, but none of them seemed to work. The last was based on creating a new array and adding enemies to it when they die and in some way splice the enemy-array upon load with the dead enemies. But I am not completely sure of how this would work whichi is probably why I didn't manage to make it work. Here is a link to my mainclass AS3 file: [URL]

It's a simple self-checkout grocery thing and I want to list the items the user is "buying" after typing in the appropriate code, but I can't get it to stay at nine lines only in the dynamic text field. I was told to use array.shift() to get rid of the first value in the two arrays so that I have an easy way by keeping the arrays at nine values, but it doesn't seem to work right.. It'll get rid of the first value, but only once and it'll add a blank value and then continue happily adding to the length of the array. Google has failed me so far so I suspect it's something else in my code.[code]

The as dictionary tells me I can use array.splice to remove an element from an array like so

Which is all fine an dandy, but what if I want to use a value instead of the index number?

I have an array containing single alphabet in every index and some of them in the array are duplicates. I'm trying to pick an alphabet and if there is an alphabet in that array, I want it remove from the array.
so lets say if i have 3 "a" in the array, I want all 3 to be remove. But my function only remove one alphabet. How do i make it remove all 3?
Also another question is, if i reach the end of the array how to i remove it? if i use splice it doesnt seem that it will remove the last item in the array.
my code is very simple

i set FMS running fine. I have even enabled TCP port forward, not that i need it localy.the thing is, from other machines the FMS wont answer. FME is going

FMS is in 192.168.1.100 (same machine)
if i go from another lan machine, it simply wont connect.. nor does Access.log relates to anything trying to connect to it. (from other machine, from same machine everything goes smooth)

I can put content on the sprite such as TextFields and shapes and then add the sprite to the stage and nothing shows up at all. Sprtes have never worked with this downlo aded trial of Flash Pro CS5, what the heck is going on with this software????? Yes I am using AS3. Something must be seriously wrong with this software. Should I re-download the software and re-install it or what??

SWF functions beautifully on its own (i.e., animations play, rollovers work). However, when uploaded to the server and dropped into the HTML with the proper plug-ins, the links suddenly cease to function. Flash still plays beautifully - it's just the links that seem to disappear. The one browser where the links seem to work 'as is' is Firefox on PC.
I am using the basic but usually effective:
on (release) { getURL("http://www.site.com"); }
Sorta-solution:Added "_blank" to the end of the script and this worked in all tested browsers... however, the client wants the URL to open in the same window (they have asked not to provide the actual link). Anyone have a concrete idea as to why and how to fix this?

I have a utility function:

This function searches through an array and sees if an item exists in it, if it does, it removes it and returns a reference to that item.
This works fine for most things. But I just ran into a problem where I need to remove an array from an array.
so my array looks like this [ [item1a, item1b], [item2a, item2b] ]; and i need to remove [item1a, item1b] from it. But passing in the the array to remove and the full array to remove it from does not work because i guess of the casting to an object in the parameters list. Can the functionality i want be used? if so how?

I've made a little movie that reads items from an XML document and when you click on a thumbnail it adds the details and the price to a list and totals the amount. The problem I'm having is when you want to remove an item; I want to make it so that the items all shift up and there isn't a gap in there but at the moment they're overlapping sometimes when you remove something from the middle of the list.I'm not really sure where the problem lies because I've been staring at this for a few days now nothing's coming to me. It's probably in the below area, I think it's going haywire when the array gets remade but the num property of the remove button doesn't get updated.[code]I've attached all of the relevant files if anyone wants to take a look at it in action. Also, I know some of the code might seem a bit strange (like reading the XML in a loop and then pushing that into a different array) but there is a reason for it, I've stripped that part of the application out though.

I have made a class that creates a dotted line following a moving object. The dotted line is small circle added to the stage (and to an array) every half a second at the object's position.
First I add the circles to the stage, when the object stops moving I remove them from the stage.
This, however, only works twice, after that it throws a "display object must be a child of the caller" warning.

I have a sentence that's basically items from an array, and I have this line that when I type one of those words on it, that word is removed from that sentence/array. I've currently got an array made up of Movie Clips, and a variable to tell us how long that array is. It looks like this:

I've got a function called collisionTest which tests a collision between two objects.
So, I've got a loop set-up so if my character and a coin collides, it removes the coin it collided with from an array. It looks like this:

Even though there are plenty introductions to TDD (even in PHP, my primary programming language now),My friend introduced me TDD a while ago, but I wasn't actually able to understand it - what's the point in writing tests to everything first - even the simplest tasks - when in the end, it looks it's more efficient to test only if something doesn't work, although it might be much harder to locate the bug (this could be solved through VCS, no?).So is there any introduction, with dead-simple examples and arguments behind "pros"?Something like "yeah, it's better, because you have better design - look at this example..."I understand that you create "test" and then the function, that should pass the test. But how you say to language, what results should it have? To me it looks that you do some function... debug it (the same way as you debug in no test driven dev.) and call it test and do it again..Also, is this applicable to MVC approach? Or rather, CodeIgniter Newbie MVC?Read a bunch of posted and googled advices, plans, ways and tutorials. I am still not entirely into TDD - I mostly have pretty good visualisation and I think (hope?) if you click a button (say the about us button) twice- or when the about us page is up- it kills the movie and shows nothing. how can i make the button inactive while its movie is up. ive dropped in the link so you can see what i mean.

I'm working with an Actionscript 2.0 flash file (though I'm using CS4), trying to determine the cause of the following problem: The client has a flash menu on their own Site A, hosted on their own server. They have some dynamically generated pages on another server, Site B, and that server displays the information and creates a template by pulling the flash menu remotely from the original site's server, Site A.
The flash displays correctly, rollovers animate and work fine, but none of the buttons get the URL. They're just dead when clicked on, whether their supposed to go to a page on Site A OR Site B.
