ActionScript 3.0 :: SWF $_FILES Data Is Not Working Good

i'm doing a flash SWF uploader in ActionScript 3.0 that uses 'upload.php' as a script to put the actual uploaded file on the server.
As a server i use WAMP (a package of PHP/apache/mysql/phpmyadmin) on port 3223 on my local machine.
The upload script is working (i write stuff in my database to check if it works) and when i printout $_FILES it shows some garbled stuff, not the real array with filesize, filename, file tmp_name, etc.....so i figured the SWF is not passing well the $_FILES variables.
The SWF on the other hand signals Event.COMPLETE for the file being uploaded.

Looking for a programming book that is in tutorial approach. Example this chapter teaches you how to do a login form. In the second chapter it teaches you how to integrate the login for to another app.Basically I'm looking for a book that teaches you real working application rather than abstract ideas. Programming language I have in mind is Adobe Air/Flex, Visual Basic. Functions I have in mind should at least cover Drag and Drops, Integration to a web form (form entry) and customizable interfaces.The languages i had in mind isn't fix. I'm making an uploader in flash that has 3 input fields with each FileReference, and one upload button to make them work. By now, I can upload the three files, but I want to put them in different folders with the php file. So, I need a way to get the input name in the flash source, and change the 'Filedata' (default), for that specific value.

i want to create a chat app using flex 4.5 mobile project for android device. For the chat screen, i wanted it to look glossy and stylish. Hence i thought i would use the list component and disable the selection in it. I m able to add the chat messages into the list. But i doubt if large chat data might hinder the performance. Im using a collection and i ve binded it with the list. Whenever i receive a chat i update the collection and it gets displayed in the list. Can someone tell me if his could pose a performance problem as list component is not intended for this purpose.

I took the original code from gotoandlearn, and all I addedwas some buttons to make this content change.that is, when I click on a button, the xml has to be replacedfor another one.t works except that instead of replacing the content, itADDs to the XML list, everytime I click on the buttons.I tried removing children but it doesn't work, cause itleaves no place to put the new content.

I'm having some troubles with binding data. I have an application that contains a viewstack of components. Let's say I have comp1, comp2 and comp3 inside the viewstack. Each component, has its own data class --> comp1Data.as, comp2Data.as and comp3Data.as. All values in each component are binded to the corresponding data in it's data object.
A click in a control in comp1 leads to comp3, the same goes for comp2. Clicking a control in comp2 leads to comp3. When going from comp1 to comp3, comp3Data.as is initialized and and comp3 displays the binded values. When going from comp2 to comp3, comp3Data.as is also initialized but the binded values are not displayed...

i'm trying to use the new methods exposed in the FileReference class by flash player ten, as such I want the user to select a file, load it, pass it to a byteArray and then chunk it up and edit piece by piece.I have gotten everything to work except the whole chunking thing. In the example below it shows me trying to copy the byteArray, but for some reason it is giving me weird End of file errors,

It's a very basic comments form with only 3 fields, the information gets sent directly to a email address through PHP.
The form works perfectly, sends all the information to my email, but my problem comes in when I try to run a onClipEvent(data) handler to go to a "Thank you" page when the information's been sent.
The onClipEvent(data) handler runs on the form movie clip and works fine when I run it on my local drive, but when I run it through the website it never executes. The form just get sent and it stays on the same frame.
I'm getting headaches from this because it looks like all the codes are working fine, it just doesn't want to run the damn handler!

I'm having a total brain freeze this Monday morning... ugh. Anyhow. I'm trying to convert a string from an XML file to a number so that I can use it in equations. It isn't working. What is the proper syntax to do that?

server, the swf is in the same domain as the images directory andthe PHP file. It's exactly as laid out in the Unleashed book: (see ). However, I get an HTTP 406 error whatever I do. I've checkedfile permissions. I suppose it is some sort of security problem butI can't see what. I tried the same thing on my local PC apacheserver and there I got an IO error can point me to more details onthe FileReference error handling

For example my test productimage[1].toString(); is returning back the correct value from the XML file.My issue is when I load this SWF into another, a preloader, the code no longer works? i have some problem which i dont think of a reason why it happening. I have some Flash (swf) that send variables to aspx/aspx.cs page. the aspx files are on Web Server, when im testing the swf file local (on my computer) the variables are send and store in SQL. When im upload the swf + html file to Webserver (not on the same server when the aspx files) it does not working. i was tryin to upload the swf file to the same webserver where the aspx file and its working! when the swf on one server and the aspx on other server its not working...

i get this error when i retrieve an XML that only has 1 node (no repeating nodes) and i try to store in an ArrayCollection. -When I have MORE than 1 "name" nodes...i do NOT get an error. My test show that XMLListCollection does NOT work either.
TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert "XXXXXX" to mx.collections.ArrayCollection.
this error occurs as the line of code:
myList= e.result.list.name;
Why can't ArrayCollection work with a single node? I'm using this ArrayCollection as a dataprovider for a Component -is there an alternative I can use that will take BOTH single and repeating nodes as well as work as a dataprovider?
